Chapter 53
The Love From Vengeance
53: RISE UP ARIELâS POV âHold on. Youâre coming to the hospital to come pick me up.â I was trying to see what this idiot was talking about around here.
âYes. Any problem with that?â Luke was feeling proud of himself, huh?
âAny problem with that? Of course, there are problems! Canât you see Iâm injured?â A perfect reminder.
âYour wound changes nothing. Now you should start getting ready. Iâll be there any moment.â He was still trying to be bossy.
âDonât waste your time coming. Iâm still not following you.â I made up my mind. Decisionâs final.
âYou have no choice.â He talked like I didnât.
âI have a choice. Youâre not the boss of me. Stop trying to act like you are. It gets irritating every single second.â Like, really irritating. This guy and Mason were annoying jerks.
âWhy do you have to fight all the time?â He spoke as if heâs the one with senses here.
âFight? Are you trying to say Iâm starting a fight here?â I couldnât believe what he was saying. His words were trash anyway.
âOf course. You are so unbelievable. I didnât even know what my grandfather saw in a lady like you.
Luke started the insult. I think Iâll be the one ending it.
53: RISE UP âHave some respect,â I told him.
âYou started the whole thing.â Was he giving me a reminder, or what?
âI donât have time for you right now.â Exactly! The right words to use against this scumbag.
âYeah, like you have time for anything at the moment.â Here he was, taunting me.
âAre you done talking?â My tone deepened.
âDonât try to act like the person with senses here. Just get ready, okay?â His words showed that he was still coming. Like, what the hell?
Our call ended. I dropped my phone on the bed, moving my hands to my face. What in the world did that man want now? Donât tell me heâs thinking of carrying me to his house. Crap! Weâre not even married yet.
Minutes later, Luke showed up at my room. The both of us looked at each other for what seemed like eternity. And then he finally marched closer to me. This was not definitely something I wanted.
I sat on the bed and was about to get on my feet, but he held my arm. I couldnât help but wonder why.
The look I gave him told him to let go, but he had to smirk in response.
He held my other arm, and the feeling of his hand right there was comforting. I couldnât help but lean in closer as he moved his face towards mine. The moment our eyes met, I was immediately captivated by the intensity and warmth in his gaze.
With every breath he took, I could feel a spark of electricity between us. His touch was unlike anything I had ever experienced before, sending shivers down my spine and making me feel alive. It was truly an amazing sensation that I never wanted to end.
53: RISE UP Hold on? I better end this immediately. Thereâs no way heâs going to have me trapped in his charm.
I shoved his hands from my arms, giving him the angry countenance.
âWhat the hell was that?â I snapped.
âWhat?â He was acting innocent.
âDonât try to play dumb here. Now tell me what you were about to do.âI demanded.
âIâm sorry, I donât get you.â He feigned a confused face.
âYour hands on my arms. What was that?â I queried.
âAre you mad about it?â His tone was calm. But I was getting mad each second.
âOh yeah, Iâm mad. You know how the both of us feel towards each other, and youâre touching me like that? Like, what the hell?âI made a bizarre face.
âShouldnât you be happy?â He smirked.
âExcuse me?â
âDo you have any idea how many women are dying to get a taste of me?â Was he praising himself, or what?
âI donât think there are. But if perhaps there are women like that, thinking that way, theyâre bunch of fools.â Thatâs just it.
âSo that means youâre a fool, then.â That smirk of his was maddening.
âSay what now?â I raised an eyebrow.
âI saw how you were captured easily. You were lost in the moment,â he said, speaking absolute nonsense.
âThatâs a lie.â I differed.
âIs it?â He raised an eyebrow. âYou know you donât have to keep lying to yourself. If you want me, just say it. Who knows, you might be lucky to scream my name all night.â Lukeâs thoughts were wild.
âEww. How disgusting of you! Did you actually come here to tell me this nonsense?â I gave him an irritated face.
âNope. I came to take you home.â He smirked.
âHome?â
âYeah, do you have to be too slow? Iâm taking you home, to my house, which is going to be yours as well, tomorrow.â He slowed down the words to me, like I was a little kid or something.
âThat wedding is still taking place tomorrow?â
âYou think Iâm joking?â He arched his brows.
âYou see Iâm wounded, right? I donât want my dress to get covered in blood,â I said crazy stuff.
âIt wonât, you birdbrain. Canât you see the woundâs already been taken care of?â He changed to his rude manner.
53: RISE UP âYouâre the birdbrain around here,â I retorted.
âJust get up, okay?â
âSorry, my legs hurt. I canât get up.â I made up false words.
âAre you being serious right now?â Luke knew I was lying.
âDo I look like Iâm joking?â I aksed inaudibly.
âYes. After all, your lifeâs a joke,â he spat.
âNice. You can leave now.â I wasnât going to tolerate this nonsense.
âOkay then. Get up.â
âNo, leave all by yourself. The doorâs right there, and you obviously know the way out of this building.
âI forgot, actually. And I think it would be nice if you showed me the way.âLuke grinned.
âOops. I donât know the way either. If I could clearly remember, I was unconscious when you brought me here.â I had to play along.
âI wasnât the one who took you here,â he brought out.
âIf not you, then who?â Curiosity overshadowed me.
53: RISE UP âFoster did.â He revealed.
âFoster? Are you serious?â
âDo I look like Iâm joking?â He repeated my words, making a sardonic smile.
I exhaled deeply. âYou know what? Just leave.â
âIâm not leaving without you.â
âThatâs too bad. There is no way Iâm getting off this bed.â
âDonât waste any more time now. We got to start making preparations for the wedding.â He was talking like I was his slave.
âNo, you got to start making preparations for the wedding. The doctor said I needed to rest.â
âWho brought you flowers?â Luke asked the moment his eyes caught the flowers Mason brought for 1. me.
âMy husband.â I faked a smile.
âWeâre not married yet. And Iâm not the one who did that.â
âWho said I was talking about you?â
âYeah, jokes aside. Are you getting up or not?â He asked, crossing his arms.
âNope. So if you donât want to leave, thatâs your problem.â I turned my face away.
53: RISE UP âYou leave me with no choice then,â Luke said in hushed tones.
âWhat are you going toâ¦.
He interrupted my question the moment he carried me in his arms, while I just screamed, âWoah!â
