Chapter 65
The Love From Vengeance
65: NETFLIX AND CHILL??
LUKEâS POV âYou?â I blurted. The call was still on, and now that Iâve come to think of it, this was the same voice as the guy who sent me that video of Harriet.
âYes, arenât you happy to hear my voice?â He asked.
âNo, Iâm just surprised,â I responded, getting up from my seat. âYou must have a perfect reason for calling me, right?â
âOf course,â he replied.
âThen tell me, why have you called me?â I queried.
âTake it easy, man; donât think Iâm going to give you all the information just like that.â
âI donât get it. If youâre not going to tell me whatever information you have, then why do you bother calling me?â
âThereâs no need to get all angry, Mr. Reynold.â
âIâm not upset. I just donât have time on my side right now because Iâve got a lot of things that need to be done. So if youâre going to start wastingâ¦â
âEasy, Mr. Reynold, take it easy,â he cut me off. âThis information I have is important, and it will help save your life. But youâll have to pay for it.â
âPay for it?â I stated.
âYes. So, whenever youâre less busy, let me know. Thatâs if you love your life. Goodbye.â
He hung up just when I wanted to tell him to hold on. I wondered what he was talking about.
ARIELâS POV I was stili sitting in my office, waiting for the directors of The Oranos to show up. Itâs almost been ten minutes since Rose informed me that theyâre here. So, why were they taking so long?
This was just a waste of time. Because right now, I should be going through all these files rather than biding for these people. I think Iâm getting lazy as the days go by. Perhaps all this Luke stuff distracted me.
The door opened, and this man stepped in. He was dashing, looking wonderful in a red suit, and putting on a pair of sneakers. He also had earrings on and a ring pierced in his nose. He has some tattoos on his neck and a dulcet beard.
âGood afternoon, Miss,â he greeted me while I continued to stare at him. His beauty was great, but I had to snap back to reality.
âOh, sorry,â I said, making a silly laugh. âGood afternoon, sir; you must beâ¦â
âDaniel Orano, holder of The Oranos,â he said, boldly. â
âI see, itâs a nice thing to have you here.â I welcomed him with a smile. âPlease, come sit down,â I said, gesturing my hand toward the visitorâs chair.
âOkay,â he said, and sat down, as I had told him. He looked everywhere, and I was kind of admiring his looks.
âSo,â I uttered, and Daniel turned to me immediately. âCan you please tell me why youâve come here?â!
He let out a deep sigh. âYou know, as time goes on, you need to find yourself new things to do and great ideas that could better the society.â
I continued to gaze at him while he carried on. âThe Oranos had really gone so far in New Haven. But even with all that, weâre not still compared to others. Huge companies like Intectorn, Blue Davis, The Reynolds, and others.â
âOkay,â I said slowly, giving him all of my attention.
âThatâs why Iâve decided to team up with your company, The Vitality Group. You people are the greatest in Canada; no oneâs going to argue about that. And since you people are also bringing your company to New Haven, I know for a fact that itâs going to be ten times better than the rest around here.â
âWell, thank you.â I grinned at Daniel.
âDonât mention it,â he said underneath his breath. âI think it will be great if our companies work on a project together.â
âThatâs actually a nice idea. But can you please tell me what the projectâs all about?â
Daniel shifted his face closer, with his hands fixed on the table as he walked. âI will, but why donât we discuss this somewhere else?â
âSomewhere else?â I said in a slow tone. Daniel nodded, still grinning at me.
âWhatâs wrong with my office?â I queried, looking around.
âNothing. Nothing at all,â he answered. âI just thought this discussion would be great with a delicious meal.â He kept on with his grin.
âHmm, okay,â I said, with a slow nod. âIâm even hungry by the way.â
âSee,â Daniel blurted out, giving me a silly smile, and we both burst into laughter.
He stood up and stretched his hand over to me. âMy lady,â he said, bowing dramatically.
I couldnât help but giggle. âSilly,â I told Daniel before giving him my hand and slowly getting 1. up.
*****
Daniel and I were at a restaurant, eating and laughing, getting involved in all kinds of conversations. And this man was hilarious. We were supposed to talk about business, but look at usâ
totally forgotten about that.
âSo, Ariel, has anyone told you that youâre beautiful?â Daniel asked with a smile, taking a bite of French fries.
âWell, yeah,â I replied, drinking from my glass of apple juice.
âHow many?â He aksed with a mischievous grin.
âI donât know; I canât actually recall,â I replied, shrugging.
âI see,â Daniel vocalized lowly. âWell, did those people emphasize this ravishing and amazing beauty of yours?â
I giggled. âCome on, donât start now.â
âIâm being serious. You are the perfect definition of true beauty. Your eyes make the whole world go crazy, and your voice causes the oceans to move.â
I looked at him pretty well. âAre you trying to flirt with me?â
âWhat does it look like Iâm doing?â He budged his face closer, grinning.
âI think youâre trying to find your way to me.â
âNo, no.â Daniel laughed. âDonât say that now. I came here for business.â
âThatâs not what Iâm seeing around here.â I smiled widely at him.
Daniel couldnât hold a laugh. âOkay, okay, just chill.â
âNetflix and chill?â
âWhat?â He raised an eyebrow, giving me a confused face.
âYeah, what?â I also made a confused face.
Seriously, what the hell was wrong with me?
âDid I just hear someone say Netflix and chill?â Someone uttered with a familiar voice, and I definitely knew who he was.
I turned around, and Luke was standing right beside me, with a look thatâs bad enough to annihilate someone.
âLuke?â I gave him a surprised face.
âYou know this guy?â Daniel asked me.
âYes, she is my wife,â Luke answered, giving Daniel a cold stare. He turned to me. âWhat are you doing with this man, huh?â
âUmm, excuse me?â I uttered, looking at Luke back.
âGet up;
itâs time for you to leave.â Luke held my hand.
âHey, canât you see weâre discussing business here?â Daniel glared at Luke, who didnât hesitate to return the expression.
âAnd by business, you mean Netflix and chill?â Luke raised an eyebrow at Daniel.
Oh gosh, those words were still stuck in his head.
âShe didnât mean to say that,â Daniel defended.
âAnd I donât mean to drag her out of here,â Luke retorted, tugging me out of my chair. âLetâs go,â he said, giving me a cold face.
âHey, donât youâ¦â
Luke interrupted me, placing his hand on my lips. âDonât say a word. Just follow me,â he said softly.
I looked at him, and I decided to do that. Since I want the scumbag to fall for me, I should be doing as he says.
He slowly took his hands off my lips and began to walk to the entrance, dragging me along. I glanced at Daniel, but I turned my face away.
