James could recognize the unknown creatures’ aura after just a brief fight with them. Theoretically, he

should be able to trace their aura.

“What kind of creatures are they? Why are they so strange?” James frowned.

After failing to detect the unknown creatures, James quickly rushed to Xerxes’ side.

Xerxes was sitting in a lotus position. His hair was disheveled, his face was pale, and there were blood

stains around his lips. He was circulating his energy to heal his wounds. Meanwhile, Sienna stood by

the side, protecting him.

When James appeared, Sienna asked, “Are you alright?”

James nodded lightly and said, “I’m fine.”

Sienna asked, “What about those evil creatures?”

James shook his head and said, “I don’t know. After exchanging a few moves with them, I can tell I’m

slightly stronger. However, the creature I fought just now was bizarre. It integrated into the dark mist,

and I couldn’t detect its whereabouts. I’m sure it’s lurking nearby, so watch out for sneak attacks.”

Hearing this, Sienna immediately raised her guard.

James squatted down, looked at Xerxes who was in a lotus position on the ground, and asked, “How

are you?”

Xerxes said weakly, “I’m lucky you two came in time. Otherwise, I might’ve died here.”

James asked, “What exactly is going on? Why are these creatures after you? What exactly are they?”

ancient books, I found notes left by our ancestors and learned about why the Dark Strife broke out.”

“Oh?” James was immediately intrigued.

“Enlighten me. How did the Dark Strife break out, and why did Yukia fight against three hundred Ninth

Stage Lords?”

Xerxes’ expression became solemn. If he had not reached the Lord Rank’s Eighth Stage when he

returned to look through his family’s ancient books, he would not have been able to unlock the seal on

his ancestor’s note.

“Cut to the chase.” James was eager to find out the truth.

Xerxes glanced at James, nodded lightly, and said, “The cause of the Dark Strife is the Acme Path.”

“The Acme Path?” James was startled.

Xerxes nodded and said, “Yeah. It’s a hidden passage in the Dark World’s Unknown Region. It’s called

the Acme Path. It’s rumored that anyone who crosses this passage can go beyond the Lord Rank’s

Ninth Stage and reach the Acme Rank.

Hearing this, James was puzzled.
