Lords?”

Xerxes said, “The Acme Path is a myth and has never been verified. It’s said to be hidden within the

Unknown Region. No one really knows where it is. Back then, someone spread the news that the Acme

Path has opened.

“The Dark World has existed for many years. Throughout these long years, many powerhouses have

risen. Those three hundred Ninth Stage Lords were born in the Dark World during these years.

“The Lord Rank’s Ninth Stage is the ultimate rank in cultivation. After hearing of the Acme Path and a

new cultivation rank, many powerhouses naturally wanted to cross into the Acme Path and enter the

Acme Rank.

“However, the Acme Path was merely a conspiracy.

“The mastermind spread rumors about the Acme Path to lure out the hidden Ninth Stage Lords in the

Dark World to wipe them out.”

Hearing this, James became even more confused.

Could it be that Yukia was the so-called mastermind behind the scene? Was she trying to wipe out the

Dark World’s Lords?

From everything known, the theory was highly possible since Yukia was a creature from the Illuminated

World. The Dark World had always been an opposing force to the Illuminated World. She might have

wanted to kill them to ensure the safety of the twelve universes.

James asked, “Could Yukia have wanted to wipe out these Ninth Stage Lords?”

“No.” Xerxes shook his head.

James was puzzled. “No?”

Xerxes said, “Although the Acme Path is just a myth to us, it really appeared back then. It’s unknown

who released the news, but it’s said another unknown world is at the end of the Acme Path.

“The power in that world is rumored to be very potent. Only by coming in contact with the power in that

world can one surpass the Lord Rank’s Ninth Stage and reach the Acme Rank. However, there’s a seal

at the end of the Acme Path. Once it’s open, the power of that unknown world will leak out and destroy

the Dark World.

“To Ninth Stage Lords, they had lived through and experienced many things. Their only pursuit left in

life was to reach a higher cultivation rank and see a bigger world. These three hundred Ninth Stage

Lords wanted to lift the seal at the end of the Acme Path to come in contact with the power of the

unknown world so they could enter a higher rank.

“To reach their goals, they would stop at nothing.

“However, someone prevented them from doing so. And that person was none other than the person

you’ve mentioned, Yukia. She did not want the seal at the end of the Acme Path to be lifted. That was

why a huge war broke out. Only the participants in the fight know the truth. No other beings in the Dark

World are aware of it.

Hearing this, James had a lot of questions.

“Since the end of the Acme Path is sealed, who was the one that set up the seal? Who released the

news? Who was trying to wipe out these Dark Lords? If getting in contact with the power of this

unknown world would allow one to reach the Acme Rank, then what do you mean the mastermind’s

goal was to wipe out these Dark Lords?”

Xerxes explained, “The seal really does exist. However, it’s uncertain whether a higher and broader

world exists beyond the seal.

“No one knows who released these rumors.

“Meanwhile, Yukia is the one that claimed the mastermind’s goal was to wipe out the Ninth Stage

Lords.

“It’s recorded in the notes left behind by my family’s ancestor that Yukia said the so-called Acme Path

was a conspiracy. Once it opened, one would be contaminated with unknown power. Not only would

one be unable to reach the Acme Rank, but it might also lead to death. Moreover, it would bring

devastating consequences to the Dark World and Illuminated World.

“Of course, these three hundred Ninth Stage Lords did not believe her and thought Yukia was just

worried they would surpass the Lord Rank’s Ninth Stage and hence was trying to deceive them by

saying it was a conspiracy. That was why the battle broke out.
