Chapter 26

Eres Academy :School of The Royal and The Rich

Ok. I currently still have to do an English mantra, a Math bookmark, a Science brochure and a video for Economics. I also have to review since I have quarter exams for next week but Here's my update!

Better late than never hehee.

Paige.

"Hurry up!" I pulled Aicko away from the mirror and I dragged her to the door of our dorm.

"Why in such a hurry?" Aicko fixed her heels. "Is your boyfriend waiting for you?" She laughed.

I frowned and flicked my finger on her head. "It's because of Eloise silly, we're making her wait."

"Oh right!" Aicko face palmed her forehead. "Lets go." She got her purse and pulled my arm and led the way out the door.

We greeted the lady at the counter before we exited our dorm building. Shari was waiting for us outside. Together, we road inside Shari's new car which she got for Christmas and we fetched Eloise who was waiting for us in the front of her dorm building.

I opened the door to let her in.

"What took you guys so long?" She entered the car chuckling.

"It's her fault." Shari and I pointed to Aicko making Eloise laugh.

"A new year's here and you still take too long to get ready." She said to Aicko.

We just arrived back from our vacation this morning, after taking a nap for the rest of the day, the school scheduled a concert at the Arena, so that's where all the students are headed.

I watched the sky as the sunset turns into twilight.

When we arrived at the Arena, Shari parked her car at the Arena's parking lot and we all went down. The Open Arena is one of the many arena's here at campus. It's an open field with a huge stage at the front.

When we entered, the place was filled with students and a band was playing.

I smiled when I heard a familiar voice sing.

"Go Aiden!" I cheered. Aicko and the girls cheered as well before we walked towards the back of the arena.

We chose to just stand at the back instead of taking seats at the front. Aicko says that everyone will be jumping when the crowd gets bigger so sitting won't be the best option. Well she has a point.

Eloise on the other hand is used to sitting in the front at events like this but she still goes with us.

Aicko and Shari then left to get food and drinks. I was left with Eloise and we just jumped to the music. Aiden's voice was heard throughout the arena making the girls go wild and scream his name. Well maybe if I wasn't his bestfriend, I'd do the same.

I turned to Eloise who was eyeing the group of squires who's entered the arena. Guess the campus' open again for outsiders.

I laughed and nudged her. "Guess your boy's here." I teased.

She shook her head and looked at me. "Shh." She pressed her finger to her lips. I just kept quiet and kept giggling.

My eyes roamed around the Arena, I spotted Khrysie, Nile, Isabel, and Diana as they entered  and head towards the front seats. As usual, Bellona wasn't part of their entourage.

"Here." Shari handed me some food. She and Aicko came back.

"I also got us these." Aicko handed me and Eloise a lightstick each with neon colors.

"You really got us these?" I laughed.

"Duh everyone has it." Aicko pointed to the others and she was right, they were all holding light sticks and they swayed it through the music.

Soon the music became more up beat and everyone started jumping around. I jumped too and sang through the lyrics even if I know they aren't right. Aicko and Shari was screaming wildly, a second there no one would think they were daughter's of world famous billionaire's. Eloise was just laughing but she kept her poise.

I was jumping up and down and screaming my lungs out when I suddenly felt someone behind me.

"Having fun?"

I turned around to see Blake there looking down on me, he was wearing a black hoodie and grey shorts. Looks like he's just arrived.

"Hey." I greeted him in a small voice. I didn't yet figure out how I'm going to treat him now that were, umm...

My eyes widened when he pinched my cheek.

I turned to Ram who was standing beside him. He was holding a box of popcorn in his hands. "You want some?" He offered.

I smiled and took a handful.

"Hi Ram!" Aicko said when she noticed the boys. I turned to Shari who was now facing the ground.

While they chit chatted, The music suddenly changed from. I turned to the stage and realized that Aiden's band was gone. Suddenly a girl walked up the stage with a microphone in her hands.

I couldn't tell who she was since we were quite a distance away from the stage.

She held the mic and from here I could tell that she was shaking, She had thick bangs that covered her face.

Suddenly the music came rolling in which caught the people's attention. She started singing, her voice was a bit shaky and soft even with the mic but it was angelic.

"Who's that?" Aicko and Shari asked in unison.

Eloise said. "I can't tell."

I watched as the girl's bangs covered her eyes. I knew who she was.

"It's Lou." Blake said.

The girls eyes widened. "Lucy?!"

"I didn't know she could sing." Eloise said.

"Well she's pretty good right." Aicko looked at the boys.

Blake looked at Lucy. "Yeah." He said.

"She's ok." Ram looked back at his popcorn.

I suddenly felt a grumble in my tummy. I'm still hungry. Blake and Ram were talking to some squires who just came.

I excused myself from the girls and headed to the food carts which were stationed at the sides of the arena. I stopped by one of the carts and ordered a slice of pizza.

I took a bite on it before walking away. I walked past the the stairs to the arena's rooftop only to see Kile walking down from it.

We came eye to eye when he saw me.

"Hi!" I smiled.

He gave me a small smile without saying a word.

"What were you doing up there?" I pointed to the stairs that led to the rooftop.

He was about to answer when suddenly, a tall, serious looking squire from Excalibur approached him.

"Your highness." He bowed. "I've been meaning to talk to y-" He stopped when he saw me.

"Hey there." I smiled.

The squire just nodded and looked back at Kile, looks like they had something serious to talk about from the squire's expression and I was in the way.

"Anyways." I clasped my hands together.  "I'll leave you two to it, I'll just head ba-"

"Stargazing." Kile cut my sentence.

I turned to him with a confused look.

"That's what I was doing." He said before walking away with the grumpy squire.

He must love looking at the stars. No wonder I always catch him looking up to the sky at night. I just walked back to Aicko and the girls and the event continued.

"We're getting late!" I scurried to the kitchen and bit on some wheat bread while gathering my papers for todays report in my linguistics class.

"When are we not?" Aicko had her eyes on a book while she was drinking fresh milk.

Both of us just came out from the shower and wore our uniforms in the fastest way possible.

When I finished gathering my papers, I ran back to my room and placed them inside my bag. I looked myself in the mirror. "Shit." I muttered. I forgot my necktie. I ran back inside my closet and and wore it on quickly.

My phone suddenly buzzed but I didn't have anytime to check it. I ran back to the living room. Aicko was at the door waiting, her dark blue blazer hung on her arm and she had a lot of folders on her hand. She eyed them as if checking if she forgot something. "Shit." She cursed. "Paige can you hand me that." She pointed to one of her folders that was on the counter top. She almost forgot it.

I took it and went towards the door.

"Open your mouth." Aicko ordered when I got beside her. "Say Ah." She opened her mouth.

I raised my brow but still opened my mouth. What is she a dentist?

She suddenly inserted wheat bread inside my mouth.

I smiled. After that we ran outside to her car.

"How many minutes do we have left?"  I asked while fixing my things.

Aicko started the engine while checking her watch. "Ten, we can make it."

I nodded. I double checked my bag if I had any assignments that I left at the dorm, on the bright side I had everything.

"Sports trainings starts again this afternoon." Aicko reminded me.

Oh yes I almost forgot. A new year means a new sports season. It may add to my plate but I miss my track team.

I nodded and finished my wheat bread before we got off the car. Good thing we weren't late.

Aicko and I walked through the hallways. "Your hair's a mess." Aicko whispered in my ear.

"I'll fix it later."

Suddenly there was a commotion in the entrance. I looked at Aicko and without saying a word we both walked towards the commotion like some nosy neighbors.

I peeked through the crowd of girls to see what was wrong.

My mouth formed an O when I saw what was causing the commotion. Just like the first time I came here, Blake, Kile, and Ram were walking through the hallways and these girls are acting as if it's the first time they ever seen them. Well maybe the first time to see them during the whole vacation but not for me. I got to see each one of them during my vacation.

The girls stares followed them. I thought they where didn't notice us and were just going to pass by us but to my surprise, Blake stopped in front of me.

I raised my brow at him. Why is he stopping right infront of me while everybody's watching. I was about to say something but before I knew it, he slid my backpack off my shoulders and now it's in his hand.

I gave him the what are you doing look.

I felt his free hand lace with mine. "Lets go." He said.

_____________________

"Three hours vacant!" Aicko cheered as we walked out the classroom.

Our faculty has a meeting again, meaning vacant time for us students where we could do anything we want.

"Where should we go?" Aicko started. "We could cafe' hop in the square, we could also do some window shopping or do you guys want to watch the Prince's  shooting class again?"

"No." Shari said in a bored voice. Probably because Ram's absent again today, that Prince just loves to escape.

Eloise wasn't on vacant time since she had Royal etiquette class and her teacher isn't at the meeting.

We decided to ride  Aicko's car and spend our vacant time at the square. I pulled out my phone to text Aiden.

To: Ugly

You guys on vacant?

He replied immediately.

From: Ugly

Yeah. hbu?

To: Ugly

Yeah, were going to the square. Where you at?

From: Ugly

I'm at the square too. Public library.

My eyes suddenly lit up when I read the word public library. I knew the square had a public library, it's just that I usually use the library at the school building. Now I know where I'm going to spend my vacant time.

"Paige?" Shari called. "You wanna go to the cafe'?"

I looked up from my phone screen. "Uh I think I'm going to the library."

They nodded. When we got to the square, we parted ways. Them to the cafe', I to the library but we agreed to meet up at the cafe' when our vacant time ends. I texted Aiden to make him know that I'm coming.

To: Ugly

I'm going there.

I walked towards the library when my phone suddenly buzzed.

From: Ugly

Oh really? I'm actually on my way back to school, the band needs me. Sorry:(

I made a pout even if he couldn't see me.

To: Ugly

It's ok, I'll go there anyway.

I looked up at the library. It was a grand building with white colored pillars and majestic marble. I walked inside the doors. The cool air of air condition greeted me but what amazed me were the tall book shelves almost everywhere. Chandeliers hung from the ceiling and tables streched out on the sides. A librarian sat at the desk. I gave her my name card for her to scan before she let me look at the books.

This place is like a dream come true.

I walked through the isles of bookshelves, I became even more excited as I read the titles of familiar books I've already read. I took one book and sat on the shiny floor. Aiden and I used to always sit on the floors of the library while we read our books. I remembered a time when  I'd read about action and mystery novels, he was more on the classical romance. Weird to think about it.

I propped myself on the floor, I took out my backpack and placed it on my lap to cover my legs, I made myself comfortable, and it's not like anyone else would see me, I mean who else goes to the library?

I rested my back on the wall and started flipping the pages. I was about to get to the second chapter when I heard whispers from the other aisle. I didn't mind it and went back to reading, but as I went on through my pages, the whispers became louder making me more and more interested.

I finally stood up and crept closer to where the whispers came from, it was from the other aisle, when I got closer I realized that there were two voices, both utterly familiar.

I stayed low and made sure I didn't made a sound. I crept down and peaked through the books to see who was talking.

My eyes widened when I saw the people before me. Kile had his back on me and he was talking to somebody, I looked at the other guy, he was the serious and grumpy squire from yesterday. Again, it seemed like they're in a serious conversation.

I couldn't make up what they're saying but I kept looking at them, I couldn't see Kile's expression since he had his back on me. But I could tell that he's angry.

"No." I heard Kile say. The next thing I knew, he turned his back on the squire and started walking away. I looked at the squire who seemed even more grumpy, he too walked away. I sighed and checked my watch, I still had 2 hours, I should just borrow this book and read it at the cafe'.

I tiptoed away from the bookshelf and to the end of the aisle. When I got near the end I exhaled.

"Eavesdropping?" Kile appeared right in front of me.

My eyes widened when I saw him making me jump from where  I was standing. "What the hell?!"

Kile raised his brow at me. I would actually think that he's serious but the amused smile his lips displayed erased the concept.

I composed myself and faced him. "What are you doing here?" I crossed my arms. "Shouldn't you be at your shooting class?"

He raised his brow at me looking even more amused. "I got some records for the student council and we don't have shooting class on Mondays."

My brows furrowed. But Aicko said- I smiled at him. "my mistake."

"What about you?" He eyed me. "What are you doing here?"

"Reading." I showed him my book. "It's my vacant time."

"I know." He said before walking away. I frowned and followed him. Yeah he's nicer now, but he's still rude!

He sat on the long tables and I took a seat beside him. He flipped through his book pages and I did the same, but somehow I couldn't focus on my book when I'm dying curious about something. "Hey." I called his attention.

He raised a brow at me.

"Who was the guy you were talking to a while ago?" I said shamelessly.

He flipped through another page. "So you were eavesdropping."

"No." I frowned. "That's not what I meant."

He brought his eyes back to his book. I rolled my eyes at him. "What I'm saying is that, why does that squire always bug you?" I asked. "I mean, even if you say it or not I'm sure that you're annoyed by him.

He looked straight at me and leaned his back on the chair. "That's nothing." He said simply.

By then I knew that he didn't want to talk about it, and that signals the end of our conversation. I just sighed and flipped through my book. Then I remembered, I have some sandwhiches inside my bag which I packed this morning.

The library allows food just not hard ones and sandwhiches are acceptable. I pulled it out of my bag and handed one to Kile.

He looked at the sandwhich then at me with a questioning look.

"You should eat." I took out mine and took a bite off it. "It's better to study with a full tummy." I smiled at him.

He looked at the sandwhich again. Guess he doesn't like it, I mean for heaven's sakes he's the Prince, why would he eat a plain sandwhich made by a commoner.

"Sorry." I suddenly apologized. "I totally understand if you don't want to eat it." I reached out to get the sandwhich to put it back inside my bag when he suddenly stopped me by putting his hand over mine.

"I'll eat it." He said.

Before I could say anything else, he took the sandwhich from underneath my hand and took a bite from it.

I searched his face for any disgust or critisism but there weren't any. I was about to look back to my book when he called me.

"Paige."

I looked up to him.

"Thankyou." He made a small smile before looking back at his book while munching on the sandwhich.

"Great job Bennet." Coach appraised me.

I thanked coach and continued doing my running laps. I really missed this sport, after a long vacation of sitting on the couch, this is just what I need.

After 2 more laps I finally took a break and sat on the bench.

"Tired?" Eloise drank from her water bottle.

"Very." I drank from mine too. Afterwards we both went back to our lanes and ran again.

Even if this years tournament is months from now, best if we're still prepared and that we train early. After training we all went to the shower rooms. I took a quick shower and changed into a yellow oversized tshirt that ended above my knees, partnered with white shorts. I left my curly hair down since it was still wet and headed outside. I waved goodbye to my teammates and Eloise and continued to the parking lot. Maybe I'll ask Aicko if she wants to eat dinner at the square.

I stopped walking when I saw a familiar motorbike parked in front of me.

Why is he here?

"Don't you have training?" I looked up to Blake.

He chuckled and took my gym bag out of my hands. "Yeah I do."

"Then why are you here?" I frowned. "Shouldn't you be with your team? You're captain would get mad at you." I crossed my arms.

He chuckled again. "I'm the captain."

My eyes widened. Of course he is, how could forget. "Oh." I laughed off my embarrassment. "I knew you were, I was just joking." I lied.

He didn't take it. I was about to defend myself again but he went ontop of his motorbike and handed me a helmet.

He knew that I've come to like riding his motorbike better than cars.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"Have you had dinner yet?"

I shook my head. By hearing the word dinner, my tummy started to grumble.

He chuckled. "Then lets eat."

Like a happy kid. My smile widened. "I want to cook dinner tonight."

He nodded. I positioned myself behind him and was about to put on my helmet when he took it from me and placed it on my head himself.

I tried to hide my smile as he placed the helmet on.

[Hi Puppy]

Screech's AI voice greeted me.

I laughed. "Hi screech."

"Hold on." Blake said before starting his engine.

I encircled my arms around his waist. Funny to think that once, I didn't want to hold him at all and now here I am.

Since boys aren't allowed in our dormitory, we both decided to go to the villa, there I could cook and it's also been some time since I've been there.

"Hi Buster!" I tried to pat Ram's dog but as usual, he ignored me. I just laughed it off and followed Blake inside the Villa. From the looks of it, no one was home. Not kile, not Ram, even Bellona. We had the Villa all to ourselves.

"I'll take a shower." Blake said.

I nodded and he went upstairs. I went straight to the kitchen. Since I come here from time to time, I 've finally became familiar with the place and even maids are familiar with me.

"Hello Ms. Paige." One of the maids said.

"Oh please, Paige would do." I laughed and greeted her.

She assisted me to the pantry and the fridge. My eyes widened when I realized that their fridge was walk in. Well you don't see that everyday.

A second there I thought that they may have limited supply of food since they rarely hang out here. But I was wrong, the food supply in their walk in pantry and walk in fridge could last me months.

The maids found my amazement funny. They helped me get the ingredients and showed me the equipment and afterwards, I told them to rest since I could handle it from here.

I started frying my chicken wings and I started mixing my sauce.

After a while Blake came down wearing a hoodie and shorts. He sat on the a high chair while watching me cook. His hair was still wet from the shower and his scent was fresh.

"That smells good." He complimented.

I was about to turn to him. My eyes widened when I found him standing behind me.

I jumped from where I was standing. "What are you doing here."

"Could I try it?" He pertained to what I was cooking. I almost laughed at how his voice changed. It almost sounded like he was trying to be cute.

"No." I pushed his chest away. "You'll get to try it later when it's done."

I thought he left but when I turned to my right he still hasn't moved.

I raised my brow at him. Is he really this desperate to taste it. It's not as if he won't get to try it later.

He just looked at me. His eyes were pleading almost making me laugh. "Fine." I gave in to him.

I didn't miss how his eyes lit up when I dipped a spoon into the sauce pot and raised it to him. He opened his mouth and tasted it. "Is it good?" I asked.

He nodded. "Everything you make tastes good."

I suddenly stopped stirring the sauce as I felt my heart warm up. I always hear compliments from others, but hearing it from him, makes it an achievement.

When I finished cooking, we both sat on the table and the started to eat. I cooked enough chicken wings even for the maids, it's good to do something for them once in a while.

I hid my smile as Blake ate the food I cooked. He's really enjoying it.

I kept quiet and ate my food. I sensed his eyes on me as I ate. I suddenly felt awkward and conscious about my appearance and how I ate. I took another bite.

When I couldn't take the tension anymore. I looked up to him and frowned. "What?"

He was still looking at me, he had his chin kneeling on his hand while the other hand was holding a fork.

"You're cute."

I suddenly felt my cheeks heat up. I looked back down to my plate so that he wouldn't see my blushing cheeks.

He laughed and sipped on a wine glass, which was actually filled with water instead of wine.

"Anyways." I looked back at him to start a conversation. We can't just stare at eachother this whole time. "What do you wanna be when you grow up?"

"The conglomerate will fall into my hands." He said like it wasn't a big deal.

Oh yeah. I almost forgot that this guy's an heir to his family's business. "A conglomerate's big." I looked at him. "Doesn't it overwhelm you?"

He shook his head. "I knew I was going to have it ever since I was young." He leaned on his chair. "It's the first thing people tells me whenever they see me."

"Does it pressure you?" I asked. "Being the heir?"

I saw as his eyes went down to my lips. My eyes widened when he leaned forward towards me.

I thought he was going to kiss me but instead he rubbed his finger across the side of my lips. Afterwards he sat back on his seat.

Embarrassment flowed through when I realized what happened. "Oh shit." I muttered. That was embarrassing.

"A bit." He admitted. "But atleast it's not a whole kingdom."

I just nodded. The embarrassment still fresh in my mind.

He made a point. I wonder what kind of pressure does it weigh on all of my friends and schoolmates who're destined to lead a whole kingdom. That I don't know.

"What about you?" Blake eyed me. "Are you decided on what you'll be?"

"Uh." I thought. "I actually still have no idea." I said the truth. "It's really pressuring, especially now when I'm going to have to choose onto which school department am I going to go to."

"You don't need to rush." He said. "Things will all just fall into place when the time comes."

I raised my brow at him. "Since when were you mister wise words?" I laughed.

When we finished eating, I needed to go back to my dorm. I patted Buster's head before leaving the house and we road again on top of Blake's motorbike.

We drove through the windy night. I felt the wind blow against my skin. Oh I could get used to a feeling like this. When we got to my dorm, Blake parked his motorbike in the parking lot.

He turned around and took my helmet off. I was about to hop off when he suddenly leaned closer and planted a soft kiss on my forehead.

A smile formed on my lips. That just made my night. I arched my brow at him. "You sure you've never had a girlfriend yet?" Because he seems like an expert at these things.

He had a confused look on his face but he shook his head. "Never."

"Then why not Khrysie or any of the girls who likes you?" I raised my brow.

"I guess I never felt that way towards them."

I took a deep breathe before facing him. "Then why me?"

My eyes widened when he locked his on mine.

"Because you're you."

My brows furrowed. "Can you please elaborate?" I can't seem to pin point on where is he coming from.

He shighed Probably frustrated that I didn't get his iconic line.

"I like you for who you are now, for what you were, and for who you will become." His words were genuine.

I felt my heart melt as warmness filled my insides.

"I never knew that you could actually say that." I smiled.

"Neither did I." He chuckled.

I sighed and got off the motorbike before sitting on the bench that was on the side of the parking lot, He sat down beside me. Together we were overlooking the busy square as the night went on.

"I have a question." I turned to him. "Are you afraid to fall in love?"

He was silent for a moment, probably thinking.

"I'm afraid of being the only one who falls."

I slowly nodded. So that was his reason. I knew mine, I was scared of commitment, he was scared to be one sided. Maybe that's how we all are, we're all scared because of these things that holds us back. Now the only question left is to whether to risk it or not.

"I have a question too." He glanced at me for a moment.

"Mmm." I listened.

He looked at me again and our eyes met. "How do you know if it's love?"

I was caught off guard by that question. Now I'm the one in the verge of thinking. It's ironic that I've read a lot of love stories and romance novels but still, I can't define what's love. Suddenly all of the books I've read came back to me, my favorite parts, the lessons I've learned, all of these characteristics are just unexplainable.

"Maybe when you feel something so deeply, there are no words to explain it."

________________

"We need to talk."

Before I could respond, Khrysie gripped on my hand and pulled me towards one of the dark empty corridors of the school.

What does she want?! Because all I want is just to walk out of school and head to my dorm, I still have cooking lessons for Aicko and I want to take a rest from this whole tiring day.

I saw how tight her grip on my hand was. One thing for sure, she's definitely angry. I looked behind her and non of her friends are with her.

When we got to the dark corridor I forcefully took my hand away from her grip. "What do you want?"

She scoffed. "You really don't know?!"

"Dear God." I rolled my eyes. "If this is one of your crazy dramas, sorry but I don't have much time for it."

"how dare you!" She raised her voice making me tale a step backwards, at the same time attracting a lot of attention from other students. "How could you call this a drama when you just ruined my bestfriends entire future?!"

She may sound hysterical but I remained stunned. Bestfriends future? Ruined? What is she talking about?

I frowned at her. "What did I do?"

"Why don't you ask yourself that same question because it's all your fault!" Now more nosy students gathered around to watch us.

"I beg your pardon?" I raised my voice a bit. "I really don't know what you're talking about."

"Oh please." She rolled her eyes and opened her phone, she showed me something on the screen. It was a news article, I didn't read the details but I got to make out the headline. It was in bold letters.

Prince Kile Astley breaks engagement with the Princess of Rome.

My mouth dropped when I read it. Kile? Bellona? Many questions formed in my head. No wonder Bellona's still isn't here till now.

"See." Khrysie placed her phone back inside her pocket. "That's the talk of the world now, and my best friend has to suffer humiliation while you walk around like everything's fine?!"

"Khrysie?" Khrysie's friends approached the scene but kept distance from us. I thought they were going to join the fight but all of them were trying to calm her down.

I honestly felt sorry for Bellona. "But how's this my fault?"

"Why don't you ask yourself that same question?!" Her voice was too high now and her anger seems flaring.

"Why am I the one you're mad at?!" I raised my voice as well. "It's not as if I was the one who broke the engagement!" I was aware that alot of students were already watching us.

"You're so stupid!" Khrysie exclaimed. "Maybe that's because you're a commoner!"

"Khrysie." I heard Nile's voice scold. "That's enough."

I felt my insides boil with anger, she finally hit the spot, she's definitely taken the last straw.

"Well atleast I have the decency to be polite and respect others." I glared at her. "Unlike you, a Russian Princess who's obviously ill mannered!"

"How dare you!"

"Khrysie!" Nile scolded again.

The next thing I knew, a hard slap hit my the side of my face making it sting. Everyone in the corridor gasped. I found my face tilted facing my right. I saw many people's faces but one face caught my eye.

Blake stood there, with his bag on his shoulder and his fists gripped. Anger was displayed on his face, like any second he would come join the fight. I locked my eyes on his and mouthed No.

This is my fight, not his, I can fight for my own.

I took a deep breathe and faced Khrysie. From her expression, even she was shocked from what she did. But her expression changed when I met her face.

I took one step towards her but she didn't back up. The left side of my cheek still stung from her slap. I readied my right hand and swiftly brought it to the side of her face making everyone gasp again. When my hand was an inch to her face I stopped.

"I'm not like you." I made my voice loud not just for everyone to hear but for her to understand. "I maybe just a commoner, but I was taught to never harness violence, because that is way beneath me."

I took my hand away and turned my back on her, leaving her there dumbfounded.

People made way for me as I walked away. The side of my cheek still stung, but I'll live. Blake wasn't at his position from where he was a while ago. I didn't mind it and I just continued walking till I got to the school's exit.

I almost jumped when Blake suddenly appeared in front of me when I got to the parking lot.

He brought his hand to my cheek and started carressing it with his thumb. "You know."

"What." I almost said in a whisper.

"It turns out, I'm liking you a lot more than I originally planned."
