Beta Dustin said seriously, “When you see her again, do everything in your power to bring her back.

Regret filled his heart so much that he didn’t think he would be okay until he saw Sheila again and treated her better. Life was such that one never knew the value of what they had until it was taken from them.

Some even threw things away by themselves. “That is what I have in mind, and I want you to make a transfer of 500 million to Sherry’s Couture and Glamour. It’s a partnership spot I’m securing.”

This was another way for Alpha Nick to be close to Sheila. It would be easy to use the partnership as an excuse to see her as she was all he thought about these days.

“Okay, Alpha, but what if you find your mate later after investing so much in Sheila’s business? I know that your will get good returns; but I also know your reason is directed at winning her heart.”

Alpha Nick released a breath he didn’t know he was holding. The secret was so heavy on his heart that he felt

suffocated if he didn’t share it.

“Dustin, keep what I’m about to reveal to you a secret,” he said seriously. Beta Dustin was curious but also knew

he would never betray his Alpha’s trust.

“Yes, Alpha.”

“Somebody drugged me at the party, and I woke up to a bloodstain. It was obvious that something happened between me and a woman I don’t know. I know I took her virginity, and I also didn’t use protection. Until I find that woman and ensure she isn’t carrying my child or isn’t my second chance mate, I will never move on. Not even marrying Sheila again,” he revealed thoughtfully.

Beta Dustin was shocked by the news and couldn’t help saying, “You couldn’t even do it with your mate, but you did it with a strange woman?”

Alpha Nick’s lips pursed. He couldn’t understand it either but could only blame one thing. “I was drugged. I don’t even remember how it all happened, but I saw one of Sheila’s earrings, and I’m just hoping she’s the one.”

Beta Dustin was slightly relieved, also hoping for it to be Sheila. She was already well known to the pack, so it would be easy for them to pick up from where they started, rather than with a strange woman.

“I’m glad Brea went to visit her friends at other packs. I think you should call and let her stay longer. There is just too much going on around her.”

“You are right. I will do that, but remind me to have a party for her on her birthday. She would be eighteen by then, so I intend to make it big, inviting all the pack members. I hope she finds her mate by then and doesn’t go through what we are going through,” Alpha Nick said honestly.

Beta Dustin agreed. “I hope so too.”

The next day, Alpha Nick was the first to arrive at training. One by one, the pack members arrived. None of them were late, except that the Alpha was too early, having himself to blame for his inability to sleep.

Sheila’s things were in his room, and he kept her diamond earring as a trophy as well, hoping to meet and personally hand it over to her.

Charlotte and Tom were the last to arrive at training, but Alpha Nick did not even look at them as he continued giving instructions and helping with the warriors‘ weaknesses as well as building on their strengths.

Twenty minutes into the training, Charlotte rushed in, and Tom arrived five minutes later. They both joined the training until it was time for a water and pee break.

Charlotte went to sit by Alpha Nick’s side as he pointed out calmly, his gaze straight, “You are late, why?” It was as if he was talking to somebody else, but it was just the two of them, as they maintained a five–inch gap.

“I couldn’t sleep early last night and overslept later.”

Alpha Nick did not say anymore as Beta Dustin brought him a bottle of water. He sipped a little and returned it to him.

Charlotte grabbed the bottle before it reached Beta Dustin’s hand. “I’m thirsty. I’ll drink it.”

He shrugged and left it for her, trying not to show that he knew all the filth about her. This was the most difficult thing Beta Dustin has had to do in his life. He was treating his enemy as a friend.

Halfway through the second part of training, Alpha Nick called out, “Annie and Charlotte, move inside the circle. Annie, you attack. Charlotte, defend.”

Charlotte scowled, annoyance filling her to have to fight with this bitch again. Alpha Nick constantly called her Annie, instead of Anita, irritating Charlotte even more.

Annie, on the other hand, was afraid of hurting the Alpha’s mate, so her attacks were not strong. When Alpha Nick noticed it, he casually asked,

“Annie, is this how you will attack if the pack is under an attack?”

“No,” Annie answered, glaring at Charlotte, who looked like she wanted to murder Annie.

Alpha Nick pretended to not see the changes in Charlotte’s expressions and rather emphasized, “So let’s just say, you u are both from enemy packs. Charlotte, if there’s an attack, I don’t think your defense is strong enough.”

He spoke as if he cared, but the instruction made Anita aggressive like he wanted. Knowing what Charlotte had done to Anita before, it was obvious that she hated Anita, so this was Anita’s chance to get even. She kicked Charlotte in the face, and Charlotte could not even dodge it. Another kick landed in her stomach, followed by a double punch to her face. She was already dizzy as Annie sent countless punches into her stomach and a kick to her back, causing her to fall.

Annie held back as Charlotte was coughing but was equally healing as she glanced at Alpha Nick. His glare

communicated that she should continue. Everyone was in awe as she threw several punches at Charlotte’s face, on the floor, her wolf could not heal her anymore.

Everyone wanted Alpha Nick to stop Anita, but he didn’t. However, he was the Alpha, and they dared not intervene or try to stop Anita when the Alpha hadn’t said so.

Tom’s heart was pounding wildly, couldn’t take it anymore and kicked Anita in the stomach. Alpha Nick’s gaze darkened dangerously. No one expected it, so Anita lost her balance, coughing from the impact before throwing a punch his way.

She didn’t miss her target as the angry Tom was ready to pounce on Anita before Alpha Nick stood between them. He could have allowed Anita to continue, as she seemed capable, but Alpha Nick’s beatings would have a greater impact. “Anita, you can go.”

He turned to Tom and asked in irritation, “Tom, it’s not your turn, so why did you step in?”

Tom was upset for Alpha Nick to ask him that question as if he wasn’t present at the training. How could he allow his mate to be beaten to this stage? “Didn’t you see what the bitch did to your mate?” He asked accusingly.

Alpha Nick was angered by the word ‘mate.‘ If he indeed respected the mate bond, then why did he elope with Charlotte? Without giving a response, Alpha Nick punched him hard in the face, the pack members feared the way Tom bled from the impact, his face red with pain.

Blood dripped from his face but was soon gone as his mate had healed him. “Rule number one. No name–calling during training. Her name is Anita, Annie for short.”

Tom was enraged, thinking the punch was because of Anita. “You let her hit your mate,” he said, only to receive another punch from the opposite direction.

“It’s training time. Everyone can be hit,” he said with a deadpan expression. Tom couldn’t bear seeing Charlotte like that on the floor.

“Let me take care of her. She’s unconscious,” Tom pleaded, but Alpha Nick refused. If he didn’t beat the idiot to a pup, he wasn’t ready to let him go.

“No. you are already in the ring, so it’s you and me.”

Tom was suddenly feeling hot. Even with his beta wolf, he was no match for Alpha Denzel. As the fight began, not even one of Tom’s punches landed on Alpha Nick. There were fierce kicks and punches everywhere until Tom fell

unconscious.

Alpha Nick had a deadpan look on his face, instructing, “Take them to the servants‘ quarters.” Dustin was amazed, asking,

“Not to the hospital?”

“They are not dead. Their wolves would heal them,” Alpha Nick shrugged, unfazed. A surprise would be waiting for them when they wake up.
