She asked curiously, “Mr. Flinders, you came to travel alone. Don’t you need to work?”

Jefferson Flinders smiled. “I’m traveling and working at the same time. Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I’m a photographer. I heard that the desert here is marvelous and wanted to come here to take some photos. However, I’m always busy and I have to wait until the holidays when I finally have time to come here. I let you all have a look at the photos I’ve snapped.”

He took out his phone and handed it to them as he spoke.

Nell took it and had a look.

Indeed, there were countless beautiful photos and it was all the scenery and culture of this place.

There were a few pictures of the desert at night. She could see that the composition and coloring were carefully matched.

Nell smiled and said, “It’s pretty.”

Lizzy nodded. “What a beautiful picture. I like it.”

“If you like it, I can print out some of it as postcards and give it to you.”

“That’s great.”

Lizzy clapped her hands cheerfully.

Nell saw it and only then did she completely let go of her doubts.

Not long into the journey and they had arrived at the hotel where Jefferson stayed.

When Jefferson got out of the car, Lizzy asked for his contact and saved it in her little smartphone.

She waved him goodbye and then closed the door.

The car drove away from the hotel and headed to Cathy and Sean’s chateau.

Cathy had arrived first. She remembered Nell’s car was just behind them but she never saw them come back, so Cathy called to ask about their whereabouts.

Nell answered the phone and laughed. “It’s okay. We met an acquaintance on the way back and helped him a little. We’re coming back now.”

Although Cathy was surprised that they met someone familiar here but knowing that Gideon had traveled all around the world conducting business, they might know people from everywhere. Thus, she did not feel strange about it.

Therefore, she hung up.

After Nell had hung up the phone, Gideon asked, “The man earlier, what’s the matter? You two met before?”

The incident had happened in the theatre. As Gideon was carrying Little Viemond and he walked behind them, there was a certain distance in between. Furthermore, the place was crowded and noisy. That was why he did not know what had happened to Nell and Lizzy.

Nell briefly told Gideon about the incident that had happened.

Gideon nodded after he had finished listening to her.

“I see.”

Since he was someone who was approved by Nell, he did not think much about it.

Soon, the car arrived at the chateau.

They got out of the car and happily walked into the chateau.

Upon entering the chateau, Cathy ordered the chef to prepare supper. After they had finished their meal, Nell first asked the children to clean up before putting them to bed. Then only she returned to her room.

Tonight, Little Viemond also went back to his room, so there were only Gideon and Nell in the bedroom.

Nell had taken the anti-morning sickness medicine that Sean had formulated. It was effective as she did not feel nauseous anymore. However, as she was pregnant with twins, her belly was starting to get bloated and her body began to feel heavy.

She felt tired after walking for a while.

Gideon whispered, “I’ve got the same thoughts as you.”

Nell opened her eyes, looked at him like she was interested.

“Really?”

“Yes.” Gideon nodded. “However, I didn’t think about his name but rather the feeling that he gives. I always feel like he’s not an ordinary person, not even a photographer like he said.”

Nell was stunned. “Why say so?”

Nell was a little shocked because she did not expect that in such a short time and in one encounter, Gideon had already observed him thoroughly.

She kept quiet for a moment, then asked, “Then you think... Who is he? And why would he appear here?”

Gideon shook his head.

“I’m not sure but it might be us overthinking. If Jefferson no longer appears later, then it’s all good. If he turns up again, I’ll send someone to spy on him and check his background.”

Nell nodded.

Tonight, for no reason, Nell could not sleep well.

In short, those were not sweet dreams but Nell’s deepest fear.

Nell’s body trembled as she woke up suddenly, opening her eyes subconsciously.

She saw the room was still pitch-black, but it was cold and nobody was beside her.

The curtains were drawn tightly. The room was dead quiet and there was only a grunting sound from the air humidifier.

All of a sudden, she panicked.

Nell put away her blanket and got out of bed. She first searched the room then walked out.

“Gideon! Gideon!”
