Chapter 480

Spoiled by the President

He asked in a low voice, in which she could hear the hoarseness and sleepiness in his voice.

Nell made a small sound of affirmation. Now that he was awake, she did not need to worry about anything.

“I want to drink something.”

“Don’t move. I’m going to pour you some water.”

He turned and sat up as he spoke, pouring a warm glass of water in no time.

Nell held the glass in her hands and took two sips.

The sound of her stomach grumbling suddenly rang out loud and clear in the room.

Nell’s face flushed red.

Gideon froze for a second, and then he grinned at her with an eyebrow raised. “Hungry?”

Nell’s cheeks grew redder. She scrambled for an answer, not knowing whether she should say anything.

In the end, she could only nod in honesty.

Gideon caressed her head with his hand and said, “Be good and sit still. I’m gonna make you something to eat.”

Nell was taken aback. “You are going to cook?”

“Do you see anyone around?”

It was then she realized that it was already 12:00 am. All the takeout restaurants were closed now. Besides, Nell was pregnant, so she could not eat any of the food from the night market anyway.

Considering that the maids were not at home right now either, there really was no one else available to cook other than Gideon.

Nell scratched her head in embarrassment. “Okay then.”

She paused for a moment before saying, “I’ll help you!”

Gideon chuckled. “If you feel bored sitting around then sure.”

Nell pushed her covers aside immediately and stood up from the bed. Seeing that she was about to run to the kitchen, Gideon frowned. He reached out and grabbed a jacket to put it on her.

“Don’t run around too much. Be careful of falling,” Gideon reminded her.

Nell stuck her tongue out. He was hopeless when it came to everything about her. All he could do was tap her nose once and murmured, “Naughty.”

With that, the two of them went downstairs.

Gideon walked into the kitchen as if he had done it a thousand times before.

He was wearing a light camel colored knitted sweater today and a pair of light grey pants. This cozy style made him look much more amiable than he usually did.

Meanwhile, Nell followed him around like his small tail. Although she knew how to cook, nobody would let her into the kitchen after she got pregnant.

They thought that it was bad for her to inhale all the smoke, wishing instead that she would rest more and so prohibiting her from doing any hard work.

Nell felt that their concerns were sometimes ridiculous. However, she knew that this was their way of caring for her, so she went along with them without much protest.

Gideon took out a stalk of greens and two eggs from the fridge. “We’ll have noodles. Is that okay?”

Nell nodded with a smile. “Okay.”

Gideon let the greens soak in a bowl filled with water and cracked the eggs in another. His slim and long fingers held the chopsticks firmly as he gave the eggs a stir. It was an amazing sight to behold.

Nell leaned against the doorway. Her eyes roamed around the kitchen before she asked, “Is there anything I can help you with?”

Gideon glanced at her for a second. “Can you handle the smell?”

There was a period of time when she could not take the smell of the kitchen and would throw up if she caught just one whiff of it.

Nell took a deep breath, and a smile spread across her face.

“I feel fine today.”

Gideon’s soulful eyes brightened up with joy. “You can help me wash some green onions then.”

“Okay.”

The two of them made themselves busy in the kitchen without saying much. Once Nell was done with washing the green onions, Gideon took them and cut them into small pieces. After that, he put them into the water once it boiled.

Nell stood beside him and watched as he poured all kinds of condiments into a small bowl. Those hands that had killed and saved lives on a battlefield were now cutting up greens, but they fit just right in and nothing seemed out of place.

Gideon was done cooking the noodles in no time.

Noodles with eggs and greens were supposed to look simple and bland, but Gideon managed to make it look like a flavourful dish.

He had the bowl of noodles in one hand and waited as Nell took a pair of chopsticks. Together, they walked out of the kitchen.

“Oh, it smells so good!”

Nell was already hungry, so she could not wait to dig in when the delicious aroma hit her.

Gideon stared at her with a loving smile.

“Eat more if you like it,” he murmured softly.

...

Nell did not end up eating a lot. She could only finish one small bowl of noodles before she stopped.

She caressed her stomach and said, “I’m craving for something sour.”

Gideon chuckled and went inside the kitchen.

He then walked out with a few jujubes in his palm.

Nell’s eyes brightened, and she ran toward him. “Where did you get those? When did you buy them?”

Gideon raised his hand up high, not letting her reach the jujubes. With a solemn expression, he said, “You can only eat two.”

Nell frowned.

“It’s not good for your stomach if you eat too many of them at night.”

Nell pursed her lips unhappily. “Fine.”

Gideon gave her the jujubes after that, and Nell stuffed one into her mouth the second she got her hands on them.

The moment the sour taste burst from the jujubes in her mouth, she could not help but shout in delight, “Yes!”

Gideon gave her a look. He did not say anything as he picked up the bowl and chopsticks to wash in the kitchen.

When he walked out of the kitchen again, Nell had already eaten the two jujubes.

They climbed upstairs to rest after that.

Time flew, and two months had passed by in the blink of an eye.

Nell’s stomach had grown rounder and bigger, but she could still move around on her own since she insisted on exercising.

The baby was very good and quiet in her belly as it did not bother her too much with its kicking. During the day, she either read a book or watched a movie at home, and she would call Lizzy at night or during the weekends. Each new day was as relaxed and comfortable as the next.

However, there had been no updates from Country F at all. The men that Gideon sent did not have anything to report.

Gale Shelby brought in some news, but they were proved to be useless. He seemed to have gone incognito after what had happened, and it was impossible to find a way to reach out to him. Nell would not know where to even begin to look for him.

She felt like there was nothing she could do about this, so she decided to put it aside for now.

A few days passed, and Lucy Katz’s birthday was just around the corner.

Since Nell was so free at home, she decided to give her a call.

Hannah was doing a good job of handling everything at the company. Nell had just promoted her to general manager a few days ago, so she had been taking care of Lucy’s matters for her as well.

Lucy picked up the phone right away.

“Lucy, are you busy?”

Spoiled by the President Chapter 479 Her Heart Relented Wrong Ride, Right Lover “I just got done with a movie. I’m currently taking a break.”

“A break?” Nell’s eyes lit up at her words.

Gideon had been going on business trips these days, Lizzy was busy with her homework, and Janet was preparing for a comeback, hence no one really had any time for her.

Although she still had Aunt Joyce to talk to at home, the things they could talk about were limited. Because of that, she could not help but feel incredibly bored.

How could she let it go when she heard that Lucy was taking a break?

“Are you interested in meeting up?”

The woman on the other end of the phone was silent for a moment before bursting out into laughter.

“Sure! I just found out about a new hotpot restaurant opening up somewhere. The reviews are pretty good. Do you want to give it a try?”

“Yes!”

“Let me send you the address. I’ll see you in the afternoon.”

“Okay.”

Nell received Lucy’s text containing the address of the restaurant in no time.

After tidying herself up, she brought Nancy out with her.

The hotpot restaurant was located in the city center and when she arrived, Lucy was already there.

Since Nell was pregnant and could not eat anything too spicy, they ordered a double-flavored hot pot.
