Chapter 826
Spoiled by the President
Yuliana could not help but smile upon hearing that.
The weight in her chest gradually lifted.
She held the bowl of white fungus and lotus seed soup with a smile. âDoes Vickie Thomas know?â
Ginny said triumphantly, âAndrea was so mad that her face turned green. Thereâs no doubt that she would report back to her.â
At those words, Yuliana was even happier.
However, as she thought about Vickieâs cold personality, Yulianaâs face darkened.
Who knew if she was one to be bothered about such trivial matters?
Vickie probably would not care. If it was not for the fact that she was obviously in love with Gregory, Yuliana would not have been able to tell if there was a shred of human emotion in her.
Thinking about it that way prompted Yuliana to let out a cold âhmphâ.
She liked Gregory Graham, so what?
The two were not even together yet were they?
As long as they were not officially together, Yuliana still had her chance. Furthermore, if Vickie and Gregory were really what he made it out to be, that they had no issues, then why not just come out and officialize it?
Instead, he had made a mountain out of a molehill, using Yuliana to prove if Vickie really had feelings for him.
As Yulianaâs train of thought reached this point, a spark appeared in her once gloomy eyes.
She let out another âhmphâ coldly and took a mouthful of soup.
It was as expected of a bowl of soup that was snatched from Vickieâs grasp.
One mouthful of it tasted better than any other soup she had before.
The sugarcane held a very unusually peculiar and fragrant flavor.
Yuliana quickly finished the whole bowl and licked her lips to savor what was left there. âSurely, they must be completely seething right now. Come, even though we can't do much about her, let us enjoy a nice little show. Even adding to the flames a little can be great.â
With that, she set the bowl down and stood up.
Ginny was very happy to see this.
She hastily scrambled to get what Yuliana needed to head out. After all, for the sake of having the high ground over Vickie, Yuliana must look her absolute best, as if she were heading to a fancy ball. It mattered not that they were just walking around the chateau.
This time was no exception.
Unfortunately, when Ginny picked up Yulianaâs purse, she noticed her mistressâ face pale before Yuliana suddenly keeled over.
Ginny panicked and rushed to prop her up.
âMiss Lynch?! Whatâs wrong?â
All she saw was that Yulianaâs face had turned as pale as a ghost. Her complexion was worsening by the second, with sweat trickling down her forehead.
Every word that came out of her mouth was disjointed and made little sense. She reached out her hand, trembling from the pain, and grasped at Ginnyâs arm.
Yuliana gripped so hard, it felt like she was trying to rip her arm off.
âMy stomach hurts!â
She forced the words out with great difficulty.
Ginnyâs face paled and then she became frantic.
âHow can you get a stomachache so suddenly? Don't panic, sit down first.â
She helped Yuliana to sit down but noticed that Yulianaâs face had turned from white to red, and the corners of her lips were also turning slightly black.
Within a few seconds, Yuliana felt like there was a knife twisting around in her stomach, as if a hand was grabbing onto her intestines and pulling at it ravenously.
She was on the verge of passing out. Sensing that something was very wrong, Ginnie felt like this could be much worse than they had thought.
She quickly said, âHang in there Miss Lynch! Iâm going to fetch the doctor. Please, you must hang on, the doctor will be here soon!â
With that, Ginny sprinted out.
Not too long later the doctor came.
However, it was not just the doctor though as Mr. Osborne was also alerted and they all came rushing in.
At this point, Yuliana had passed out from the pain.
When the doctor saw her complexion, his face fell. He quickly started examining her and treating her.
Vickie had also caught wind of this and came over only to see Yulianaâs room crowded with people.
She furrowed her brows.
The doctor had ordered some people to hoist her onto the bed and started his emergency treatments.
Mr. Osborne turned around and saw Vickie, walking over to her.
âMiss Thomas.â
She frowned, asking, âWhatâs happening here?â
Mr. Osborne looked terribly unsettled as he answered in a heavy tone, âI don't know either. I heard that something happened here and I rushed over.
Theyâre speculating that Miss Lynch...â
He paused with a frown. â...was poisoned.â
âPoisoned?â
Vickie let out a cry of shock.
Mr. Osborne nodded.
âItâs what we think happened. We don't know what poison it is yet, the doctor is still checking, but I believe weâll have an answer soon enough.â
Vickie just nodded.
She was skeptical. The security in Gregoryâs chateau was very strict, how could someone get poisoned so easily?
The target was Yuliana, no less.
Vickie might not know much about her, but she did vaguely know that Yuliana was akin to a trophy wife with an empty brain, so she was no threat to anyone here.
What kind of person would set out to harm her?
Vickie was baffled, and she was not the only one as everyone did not understand too.
Alas, whatâs done is done. There was no use mulling over it.
She glanced at the pale Yuliana on the bed, who had her eyes shut tightly, and asked, âCan she be saved?â
Mr. Osborne nodded.
âThe doctor says she will live. The poison may be strong, but we found out early on so she should be okay.â
Vickie breathed a sigh of relief.
Although Yuliana was a pain in her neck and she did not like how scheming she was...
She still did not want to see someone lose their life in front of her eyes.
Vickie mulled it over and said, âLetâs inform Gregory. He should know about this as soon as possible.â
She was not sure if she was just imagining it, but Vickie had a hunch that Yuliana getting poisoned on such an important day as today was no mere coincidence.
Who could say if it was directed at Gregory?
Thus, him knowing about this was crucial.
Mr. Osborne nodded. âI thought so too, but with all the panic I didnât get to arrange it. Iâll send someone out right away.â
With that, he left to make a phone call.

Back in her room, Vickie frowned harder.
The unease in her chest grew stronger and she could not figure out why.
Not long after, Mr. Osborne sent someone to inform her.
This was to tell her that Gregory was now aware and was rushing back home.
Even though this whole fiasco had nothing to do with Vickie, Mr. Osborne still sent someone to notify her.
It was obvious that to Mr. Osborne, Vickie was an important figurehead.
As if she were the mistress of the castle.
She said nothing when she heard it.
It looked as if she did not care.
