Mr. Osborne ordered the cooks to prepare food. They were worn out and needed some rest after the meal. While they rested, Vickie and Gregory went through the incidents that happened today.

She took out the Arcane Jade she bought from the auction, rested it on her palm and scrutinized it for a moment, then said. “Earlier, we couldn’t understand why the Flinders would auction this thing. Now we know, they’re actually up to something.”

Gregory Graham’s face fell a little.

“They gave the jade to us on purpose. The auction was for everybody to participate, but in fact, it was ready just for us.”

Vickie nodded with a sigh.

“What do you think they want this for? I don’t think that Mr. Jeff is someone who believes in the myth of immortality, he looks like he has transcended worldly affairs. Why would he be interested in such a toy?”

Gregory sneered as he disapproved of what she said.

“Sometimes, people who look like they’ve gone beyond the world are more likely to be greedier. I don’t think he’s a good person.”

Vickie was stunned, she turned and looked at him. “Then why would he give this thing to us? Why would he choose us to help him search for the few other missing pieces?”

Gregory Graham uttered softly, “Simple. It’s inconvenient for him to for some reason, but for us, we have connections and power, and because of the disease in your body, you need help from him. Therefore, we are the best choice. As for why would he give this thing to us...”

He took the jade and had a closer look.

“Maybe it’s for us to study.”

He finished and shook his head. “I’m not sure.”

Vickie sighed.

“Then what should we do now?”

Gregory Graham’ eyes were still. After a while, he said, “Search.”

“How? It’s a big world, and we have no clues. He only gave us four months.”

When the two of them were leaving, Jeff Flinders only gave them enough medicine to last for four months. He ordered them to collect all twelve pieces of jade in four months.

According to what Jeff said, he had five pieces, while Gregory had one, six in total. In other words, there were six more pieces scattered out there.

Because of the rumours, a lot of people believed that this thing was a holy item that could bring someone back from the dead. Thus, everyone was looking for it, but only a few of them could find it after searching for a long time.

To gather all six pieces of jade in four months, would it be easier said than done?

Thinking of that, Vickie frowned.

Gregory Graham turned and looked at her with a smile.

“There’s no rush. We’ll eventually cross that bridge when we come to it. According to Jeff, it will be very useful when all twelve pieces of jade are gathered together. I guess he’s not the only one who knows about this information. We might as well try and see who will come for this treasure, I bet the ones who’re coming must have one or two pieces of jade on them. At that time, we shall observe and act cautiously.”

Vickie sighed and nodded at the same time.

“Perhaps this is the best idea, period.”

Feeling that she was worried, Gregory Graham comforted her by hugging her in his arms.

“Don’t be afraid. It will be solved. You’ll be alright, and we’ll be alright.”

Vickie Thomas leaned on him, nodded and closed her eyes.

Three days later, there was suddenly a treasure appraisal conference organized at Lin City.

This conference was not initiated by just anyone. Massimo Nolan, the son of the wealthiest man in Lin City, was the one who organized it.
