Forced To Marry The King
Alexander walked out looking angry, no furious. I didn't want to be in a stuffy carriage with him all mad so I will really try to see the rest of the village.
"Alexander, can you show me the rest of the town please?" I asked softly.
"What's that then?" He asked gesturing to the bottle in my hand.
"A drink from one of the ladies here, a late wedding gift." I said maybe too fast.
"Leave it in the carriage and come on." Alexander said and began walking.
I gave it to the driver and caught up with Alexander. I saw many stores and people.
A little boy was running and ran into me, causing both of us to fall.
"I'm sorry miss" he said. He was no older than 6 and it was an accident. But before I could say anything I was interrupted.
A guard grabbed the boy by the arm holding him in the air. I got up and looked at Alexander.
"Alexander, please" I begged him not wanting the kids little boy to get hurt.
"He knocked you over, he should pay." Alex said and reached for his sword.
"No, whatever you do to him you do to me. Please it was a mistake." I said.
"Be thankful to your queen, brat." Alex said and the boy fell to the ground.
His mother ran over holding him tight and everyone just had their heads bowed as if this was ok to do. Maybe this place wasn't as great as my last one.
After walking through the village for awhile and barely having a word spoken Alexander decided it was time for us to take our leave.
The carriage was quiet but Alexander enjoyed holding my hand. I couldn't say I didn't like it.
The castle was bustling with servants and guards, but when we entered everything stopped. They all lined up and took their posts and bowed.
I thought to myself how this kingdom was like my last one. This one was more, how do I put it, submissive. As they excepted even the cruelest of things. My last one was lazy and cruel filled with selfishness. Neither are better than the other.
"That little bottle the woman gave you is being taken to the testers." Alexander said pulling me from my thoughts.
"Why? What testers." I asked confused about what he was saying and why.
"Testers is the term used for royal tasters to see if there is poison in any of the food or drinks we have, of course." He said as if I was supposed to know that. I just nodded hoping what she gave me couldn't harm anybody.
"Go to our room I'd like to explain some things to you."
I nodded and left worried a little.
