Forced To Marry The King

We have been traveling for a few days now and are nowhere near close to the kingdom of Proesius. It's the middle of an extremely hot day and I felt like I was melting.

I still wore my wedding gown but I had my cloak on due to the cold nights which I really didn't mind. I was never outside so the cool air of the night feels good.

I spent the days sitting in the carriage watching the outdoors through the window. I saw many hills, farms, and we went through a rich area so some mansions too. A lot of the time though the guards would walk next to the carriage and block my view. Those times I sat straight up and looked away.

The carriage was not too bad as it was very comfortable and had a lot of leg room. There was a small curtain on the small window opening for privacy made of silk as were the coverings for the seats. The decor was a red silk while the actual carriage was pure gold.

This carriage made the ones from home feel poor. I never rode in them but I did see them from my window. They were just wood with silver (painted) decor. Nothing special.

I felt the carriage stop and I saw a guard stand still next to the window instead of walking. That was another thing the guards never stopped or rested throughout the entire journey so far. Walking for days straight seemed like a punishment but to them as not 1 gave up they were all used to it. I felt bad not only about that but about them wearing their large and heavy armor in the heat.

The golden door on the carriage opened and the driver stood there in silence but held his hand out for me to take. I took it and exited the beautiful carriage to see the guards putting up a large tent.

"We rest till dawn tomorrow then we continue our journey." I heard a voice yell from the front of the carriage. The king rode on his horse in front of the carriage still wearing what he wore at the wedding.

He walked towards me feeling a rabbit in front of a wolf. He was handsome with dashing sea green eyes and brown hair but also dangerous. As he was walking I felt a shiver run down my spine. Him at 6'1 looked down at me at 5'6.

"Let's take a walk." Alexander said to me in a demanding tone rather than asking. I just nodded and grabbed the bottom of my dress a little so it wouldn't get caught.

We walked side by side in a silence for a moment until he decided to spark the conversation.

"So tell me about yourself Elise." Alexander said in a monotone voice I was scared not to comply but I didn't know what he wanted me to say I spent my entire life cooped up in a castle not a loud to leave my room.

"What do you want to know, your majesty." I asked him not looking into his eyes but foreword toward the endless woods.

"Anything and call me Alexander you know that." He said and stopped looking at me. When he said that I thought that he never told me to call him that. Then it took me a second to realize he was talking about me knowing his name. Sometimes I am slow but intelligence is not important to a woman only looks as my father always told me. Before I could respond I heard a few twigs crack and a guard standing there.

"What?" Alexander asked harshly and annoyed. I just stood there and watched as the guard immediately lost all color to his face.

"Your tent is ready, sir." The guard said sounding emotionless as he bowed. "About time, lets go." Alexander said to me. I nodded and walked with him.

When we arrived back a tent was put up perfectly that looks like it took hours to put up but only took a few minutes.

I noticed a guard walked up to Alexander and whispered something in his ear.

"Change, I'll be back." He said and walked away with the guard. I turned and walked into the large tent through the opening.

I saw a small chest in the corner which held my clothes (that mother didn't design) I actually liked. I went and changed into my nightgown.

I looked at the little bed that was set up it wasn't extravagant but definitely had to be more comfortable than that carriage. I didn't realize how tired I was and fell asleep.
