I Love You Miss Genius ( Bonnie Shepard ) CHAPTER 401
I Love You, Miss Genius
Chapter 401
Bonnie remained silent. She might have asked Ivor to go with her if last night did not happen. However, she could no longer do that.
âThat settles it. Youâll have a blind date at Zephyr Cafe this Sunday. I need to hang up now. The fields wonât plow themselves.â With that, Welma hung up.
Bonnie looked at her phone. She was unsure when Ivor did it, but he had set his picture as her wallpaper. She fiddled with her phone and changed it back to a random image. Then, she pulled her blanket over her head and prepared to return to sleep.
Buzz, buzz, buzz!
Bonnieâs phone vibrated, and she grew annoyed, wondering who was calling this time.
âHello?!â
âAre you still sleeping, Bonwick?â
âItâs still so early in the morning, Orpheus. What do you want?â
âItâs about Nancy.â
The mention of Nancyâs name made her open her eyes immediately. âWhat about her?â
âSheâs missing. She usually arrives at the film set earlier than anyone, but we havenât seen her since last nightâs shooting. We canât even get her on the phone. Since youâre a good friend of hers, I called you to ask if you know whatâs happening.â
âShe didnât call me, either.â Bonnieâs brows furrowed, and then her eyes widened. âDid she go home?â
âHome? What do you mean?â Orpheus had no idea what Bonnie was talking about.
âI mean her old home. The Church familyâs house.â
âOh, that house. Iâll see if I can find anything out.â
âMaybe I should do it,â Bonnie said solemnly.
He was stunned. âHuh? I can do it. After all, I can pull some strings using the Knight familyâs name.â
âThe Knights might be powerful and influential, but I work faster than you guys regarding investigations,â she said confidently.
He was stunned yet again. âBonnie can work faster than the Knights? Is she for real?â
She hung up the phone and called Jim immediately. Then, she told him to track down Nancyâs whereabouts at once. It did not take him long to pinpoint Nancyâs location. âYouâre right, Bonnie. Nancyâs at her familyâs house now. They locked her in there.â
âThey locked her up?â Bonnieâs expression was stern, and her tone was cold.
âThe Churches are trying to marry her to a sixtyâyearâold man to secure a collaboration.â
Bonnie tightened her grip on her phone as Jim said, âIâll take some men with me and get her out of there.â
âIâll do it myself.â
âBut-â
âNancyâs one of iny best friends,â Bonnie said firmly.
âAll right. Iâll standby in the vicinity.â
âPerfect.â Immediately after, Bonnie hung up and headed to the Church familyâs house.
