Chapter 104

one hundred two

Against all odds - Minsung [✔]

As they continued on their way around the amusement park, Jisung's eyes were caught on something that he loved. "Cotton candy!" He gushed after he spotted a candy store nearby.

He shyly took Minho's hand, looking up at his face. "I want cotton candy," he told him and pulled him towards the shop.

The store offered three different flavors, and Jisung had trouble picking for himself. "Minho, which flavor is your favorite?" He asked, tilting his head curiously.

"I don't have one. I'm fine with any flavor. The plain white one will do," he said, instantly triggering a memory in Jisung.

"What is that? It looks hella fluffy and disgusting. Like a fucking cloud on a stick," Minho remarked, glaring at the strange snack.

"It's cotton candy, a heavenly delight," he grinned. "Wanna try?"

"Eww, no! Never."

"I know you want it," he said teasingly. "Open your mouth, please?"

When Minho didn't move, he decided to just shove the cotton candy in his mouth. "It's good, right?" he beamed.

"A cloud on a stick, huh?" Jisung mumbled in awe.

"You remembered." Minho grinned, looking both relieved and proud. "I see we are making progress today! Good job, Jisung."

"It's all thanks to you," he said softly. "You've been helping me so much. I'm really grateful."

They neared the cotton candy store and Jisung ordered two for them. He excitedly took his and put a whole cloud of it in his mouth, feeling pure bliss as the sweet taste covered his tongue.

"I love this," he whispered, lingering near the candy store. Minho was too busy stuffing his mouth to answer him. He had a piece of cotton candy stuck on his cheek and Jisung flicked it away.

"You're a cotton candy addict, huh?" he smiled, his eyes twinkling in glee as he watched Minho shove almost the entire snack in his mouth.

"You humans have interesting food, so can you blame me?"

"Why do you talk like that?" He chuckled. "You sound like an alien."

Minho awkwardly cleared his throat, immediately denying it. "No, no. I'm not. Forget what I said, okay? Let's move on, we haven't seen the other rides yet."

"Do you think we could check out the Ferris wheel?" Jisung asked since it wasn't far away. The blue lights of the ride looked vibrant with the gray November sky as a backdrop.

"Sure," Minho replied while he finished his cotton candy and took Jisung's hand while they approached the entrance of the small gondolas.

Since there were only a few people in the park today, they didn't have to wait in a line and were able to get in one of the gondolas quickly.

Jisung was glued to the window as the gondola rose towards the sky. He watched the people down below walk through the streets of the park.

Remembering that Minho felt uncomfortable in high places, he turned his head around to look at him and was surprised at how close they suddenly were. This gave him a feeling of déjà vu.

"Do you know?" Minho started and inched even closer to him. "Last time we were on the Ferris wheel, we didn't just sit around."

"What happened?" He asked cluelessly and Minho cracked a smile.

"Ah, you seriously have no idea? I could show you if you want." The gondola reached the highest point and the wheel briefly stopped.

"Um... okay then?"

Minho leaned in, and Jisung quickly understood what he was up to. Slowly, their lips connected and they kissed.

Jisung was overwhelmed with a strong feeling of happiness and delight and he let himself be swallowed by it. Smiling, he deepened the kiss which caught Minho off guard.

When their lips parted, the gondola returned to the ground and they got out, shyly stealing glances at each other. They continued to explore the park since there was still a lot to see and things to do.

After a while of walking around and trying different rides, Jisung felt tired and the injuries on his back began to throb.

He wanted to rest, but at the same time, he also wanted to see the other attractions of the park.

Torn and unsure about what to do, he didn't mention it to Minho.

But only when the aching and pain got worse did he finally decide to speak up. "I... I'm tired and I want to sit down."

"Alright, let's call it a day then." He smiled and assisted Jisung as they walked out of the park.

To be continued...
