one hundred twenty nine
Against all odds - Minsung [✔]
Hours later, after dinner at the hotel's restaurant had passed and the sun had set, Jisung impatiently sat on the bed in their hotel room.
He gazed at the night sky through the window, wondering why Minho left him waiting for so long. The demon had disappeared somewhere right after dinner, telling Jisung he would be back soon, but...
"Where is he?" Jisung sighed to himself and frowned. "I thought he wanted to spend the night together."
Just when he had ended that sentence, his phone lit up, showing a new message. Minho had sent it and he told Jisung he was waiting at the beachâat the same place where they had spent the afternoon.
"Does he seriously want to go swimming at night?" Jisung said, but discarded the thought. Minho would've told him to bring his swimwear if that was the case.
So he probably planned something else, and Jisung was hellbent on finding out what it was. Grabbing his jacket, he slipped on his sneakers and left the hotel room in a hurry.
He took the elevator to the lobby, leaving the building behind as he made his way to the beach. The path he took was deserted and so dark, he could hardly see where he was going.
It was a bit scary too, so he used his magic to create a small light that hovered over the path and showed him where he needed to go.
Soon, he heard the beautiful sounds of the waves and when he had reached the beach, he searchingly looked around, hoping to spot Minho.
Unfortunately, he was nowhere to be found. Jisung saw some empty beach chairs and a forgotten volleyball nearby, but that was all.
Just when he was about to send Minho a text, something unexpected happened. Right in front of him, a glimmering light appeared.
It caught his attention as he recognized the familiar magic. Another tiny light appeared behind it, and another and another. They hovered in midair and seemed to lead him in a certain direction.
"So you're playing games again, huh?" Jisung grinned. "Interesting." He followed the trail of lights. They appeared like fireflies, just a bit bigger and easier to spot.
The way they lit up the night was breathtaking. Like small stars, they flickered softly and exuded a pleasant warmth.
Jisung touched one with the tip of his finger and watched in awe when it shot off like a firework, exploding in a hail of sparkles.
The tiny lights led him over the beach and to the rocky cliffs that rose in front of him. Still, he couldn't see Minho anywhere, but he had to be somewhere close, right?
Smiling excitedly, Jisung walked over the stony ground and further up the cliff. The lights brightened much more, showing him the way, and then he finally laid eyes on Minho.
The demon stood near the edge of the cliff and watched the reflection of the moon in the water down below.
"Hey!" Jisung called and ran the last meters to bridge the distance between them. He embraced Minho tightly. "I found you!"
Minho laughed and turned to face him. "It wasn't that hard, was it?" he smiled and patted Jisung's head.
"No, not with the pretty lights," he answered. "How did you do that? I've never seen you do those before. They looked amazing!"
"Oh, it was just an idea I had earlier today," Minho said and shrugged. "Based on what I see, you liked it, huh?"
"Yes," Jisung smiled contently. "I always like your surprises."
They sat down at the edge of the cliff, their legs dangling over it. Minho placed his arms around Jisung's waist, holding him very securely so he wouldn't accidentally fall due to his clumsiness.
Jisung realized why he had picked this spot in particularâit gave them a great view over the ocean and the faraway lights of the city.
From the distance, they looked like small dots on a dark blue ground. The dazzling sight reminded him of a painting. It was too beautiful to be real, so he tried to memorize it as best as he could.
A light breeze played with his hair and prompted him to inch closer to Minho, enjoying the warmth of his body. "I wish I could freeze time," he mumbled. "So this moment lasts forever."
"That isn't necessary," Minho smiled cheekily, winking at him. "Moments like this will continue to happen. We have all the time in the world to make beautiful memories together."
"Yes, you're right," Jisung whispered and took his hand, linking their fingers together. "I love you, Minho."
"I love you too," he replied, gazing down at their hands. They both had worn the rings they had gifted each other.
"My life has been such a wonderful adventure since you came along. And I could never fully express to you how grateful I am to have you in my life," Jisung said breathlessly.
"I am thankful to you too. You were aware that I wasn't perfect, but you treated me as if I were," he answered and slowly, he connected their lips.
They kissed each other fervently, was overwhelmed with a strong feeling of happiness, delight and burning desire.
Smiling into the kiss, Jisung embraced Minho and rested his hands on his back. He deepened the kiss, and when they parted, they both took a deep breath, trying to calm themselves.
Jisung made sure to cherish this moment forever. With the beautiful view of the ocean and city right in front of him, and the love of his life beside him, he was in bliss.
