Chapter 1215
The Untouchable Ex-Wife
âAre you going to persuade her?â Renee rolled her eyes and scoffed, âStop messing around.
Youâre the cause of all this, and if you go in there now, youâll only aggravate her. I wouldnât risk it.â
âYouâre wrong. The so-called âNight Demonâ is the cause of this tragedy,â Stefan sneered, then pushed past Renee into the ward.
âHey, youâ¦â Renee tried to go after him, but was stopped by a nurse.
âIâm sorry, I canât allow you to enter since the patient isnât comfortable around you. We canât afford the patientâs condition worsening,â the nurse explained carefully.
âNo way! He can go in, so why canât I?â Renee spluttered in shock. To her disbelief, the chaos in the ward faded a few minutes after Stefan walked in. Eventually, he walked out of the ward, looking as elegant and poised as always.
âWhy did you come out?â Renee peered into the ward and asked suspiciously, âWhatâs going on in there? Why didnât I hear anything?â
âShe calmed down. The nurse is setting up an IV drip for her and tending to her,â Stefan calmly replied.
âWhat? What did you say to her?!â
âNothing. I just asked her to rest well and get better⦠so she can get her revenge.â
âWhat?! Why would you say such a thing? She finally escaped from Benjamin, but you want her to go back and get revenge on him? Are you trying to ruin her?â Renee asked angrily.
âWho said I asked her to take revenge on Benjamin?â Stefan looked at Renee condescendingly.
âWho else could she take revenge on? I doubt youâd ask her to take revenge on you,â
Renee said, looking confused. After Stefan lost his memory, heâd become more complex and shrewd. She couldnât read him the way she did before.
âI asked her to take revenge on your brother,â he explained expressionlessly.
Reneeâs jaw dropped. She gaped at him indignantly for a few seconds, then snarled, âAre you out of your mind? Didnât we call a truce? Why are you going after my brother again?
Youâre the one who ruined their relationship before this, and now youâre trying to do it again.
How can you be so cruel?â
Stefan didnât even flinch at Reneeâs angry accusations. âThe grudge between Joanne and your brother would still exist even if wasnât around; I didnât have to persuade her to do anything.â
âYouâ¦â Renee wanted to argue, but something made her hesitate. In the back of her mind, she knew that there had to be something she was missing here, especially given Joanneâs attitude towards her and Quinton.
Something had made them fall out with each other, and maybe Stefan had only added fuel to the fire.
âSo, do you know what happened between my brother and Joanne? They used to rely on each other, but now, she seems to hate him. Whyâs that?â Renee asked Stefan curiously.
She felt that he probably knew the reason, which was why Joanne felt like she owed him.
âYes, I do know,â he said bluntly.
