Chapter 433
Even After Death
Olivia quickly gestured for the servant to be silent. The servant promptly stopped talking.
âWhatâs your name?â
âMona Synder. You can call me Mona,â she replied obediently.
âWhat do you do?â
Mona replied, âI graduated from college and am a horticulture major, so I came here to tend to the rose
garden.â
Monaâs eyes were clear and innocent. Olivia had mostly figured out the personality of the servants
working in the garden.
Mona never took part in the gossiping that the others did. She would only focus on her job.
âCan you help me with something?â
âYouâre too polite, Ms. Fordham. Youâre the owner of the garden.
âYouâre free to order me to do anything. Iâll do my best to help.â
Olivia whispered something in her ear and then added, âDonât tell anyone about it. Can you do that?â
âYes. But⦠Can I know why? I see that Mr. Miller treats you well. If you really are pregnant, isnât it a
good thing?â
Olivia said, âYou know heâs getting married, right? Do you want the child to be ridiculed like me?â
Mona felt terrible for Olivia. She said, âUnderstood, Ms. Fordham. Iâll be back soon. Iâll go buy what
you need.â
Olivia knew she asked the right person. The most important thing for her now was to confirm if she
was pregnant.
She spaced out during dinner and didnât have the appetite to eat. But she had to try and hide it so
Ethan wouldnât get suspicious.
Luckily for her, Ethan was ignoring her the last time she was pregnant. He didnât see how she suffered
from morning sickness.
When she hurled last night, Ethan thought she was just pretending. The possibility of a pregnancy
didnât cross his mind.
Ethan looked at Oliviaâs bowl full of uneaten food. He frowned. âLiv, you have to eat something and
take care of your health.
âIs there something you want to eat? Let me know.â
âIâm just not hungry. Donât overthink it. I ate too many snacks in the afternoon. Iâm done eating.â
Olivia had already noticed Mona among the servants.
Her mind was already somewhere else, so she came up with an excuse and left.
Mona handed Olivia the pregnancy tests in the corridor and said, âMs. Fordham, I was afraid one
wouldnât be accurate enough. So I bought several from different brands.â
âThanks. Iâll transfer you the money later.â
âNo need for that. This is nothing.â
Olivia didnât keep the banter going. She rushed to the toilet and locked the door.
The last time she used a pregnancy test, she was excited. She had wanted to bear a child for Ethan.
Back then, she would do a test whenever her period was late.
At this moment, Olivia had a heavy heart and conflicting emotions. She cared about having a baby
more than anyone else.
Doctors told her it was almost impossible for her to bear a child. She had already given up hope.
But the pregnancy occurred at a most unsuitable time. Olivia felt afraid and uneasy. She wanted the
baby, but she also didnât want it.
Olivia closed her eyes as she waited for the results. She felt tormented.
One moment, she was thinking about what to do if she was pregnant.
The next moment, she told herself it was impossible for her. It was hard for her to get pregnant.
It was unlikely that she got pregnant after once.
The questions keep circling her mind. And she kept doubting herself.
The alarm she set rang. She quickly turned it off and slowly gazed toward the pregnancy test.
