Chapter 432
Even After Death
Her hands were working, but her mind was thinking about what she would do if she were pregnant.
Olivia had lost a child before, so she craved a child of her own more than anyone.
But the baby in her was from Ethan, who was about to get married to someone else.
She hated Ethan with every fiber of her being. She couldnât possibly bear his child.
Olivia inhaled sharply. She was deep in thought and didnât notice that she was close to a rose bush.
She came back to her senses after a thorn had pricked her finger.
She stared blankly at the tip of her finger that was bleeding.
Someone quickly dashed over and put her finger in his mouth to suck the blood out.
Ethanâs disapproving voice rang from above, âWhy are you so careless? You only have one good arm.
âYou should rest and recover. Let the servants handle the manual labor.â
Olivia withdrew her hand from Ethanâs grasp and said with annoyance, âDonât you have anything better
to do?â
She noticed that Jeff was looking at her and said in a softer tone, âDidnât I say Iâll take care of my
father? Go to work. You donât have to worry about us.â
âNothing much to do at the office today. I said I would cook for you,â Ethan played along.
Olivia couldnât bring herself to say any more sweet words to Ethan. She found an excuse and left. âIâll
go wash my hands.â
She discreetly pulled her hand out of Ethanâs grasp and hurried to the bathroom.
The servant quickly turned the tap on and squeezed some soap for Olivia.
Olivia instructed coldly, âSqueeze out more and scrub vigorously for me.â
The servant slightly hesitantly acknowledged the order and scrubbed her hand until it was red. Olivia
didnât ask the servant to stop, so she said, âMs. Fordham, your hand is red.â
âOkay, you can stop.â
The air was filled with the smell of hand soap. Olivia frowned and began to gag.
The servant followed her anxiously and said, âMs. Fordham, youâve been looking pale for the past
couple of days and vomiting a lot. Are you ⦠pregnant?â
Olivia abruptly turned to look at the servant, who explained, âMy mother displayed the same symptoms
during the early stages of her second pregnancy.
âShe had no appetite, and any fragrance would cause her to vomit. I think your symptoms match.â
