Chapter 3

"Beauty, let's close the café it's already time." Hawi said.

"Don't call me that, it's embarrassing!"

He laugh. "I used to call you that before, why complain now?"

"Just don't like it!"

"You're too sensitive this days.." he shake his head while smiling.

"Chain.." a familiar voice entered the café.

"Mom! Why are you here?" I was surprised to see her. She never visited me in the café before. She's too careful in meeting me because she don't want to be found by my dad. I guide her to seat. "Do you want coffee or anything mom?"

"No, sweetie. Its Okey. I-i'm here.. to asked you a important favor."

"Is this too important mom? you come all the way here.."

"Son, y-your dad is very sick right now. His doctor want him to take a break from work. At least for 2 to 3 months or more, until his health is stable. But his too stubborn, he don't want to stay in hospital nor home. He said he's fine. But I'm worried about him."

My mom said sadly.

"What do you want me to do mom?" I asked.

"Talk to him. Tell him you take over the company for the meantime."

"What! But mom? You know he won't agree. He won't listen especially to me."

"You are his son, he would considered it."

"He already disowned me."

"No, no matter how he acts, deep in him I know how much he love you. How much he misses you. I can feel that."

"Mom, I'm not sure of that. If you want, you can ask Leam some help if necessarily."

"Please, Chain. Do this for me, at least please try.." my mom plea.

"Mom, I have my own business here.."

"I can take incharge of it.." Hawi interrupted me. " Your family need you now Chain... help them.. beside you can come back here after everything's alright."

"I don't want to leave you alone here." I look Hawi with sadness.

"Oh come on! Give me space!" He joke. "I'm too feed up with your face!" he joke laughing.

"You devil bastard!" I laughed also.

"Mother, you can take him now. Make it a long time okey. " he said to my mom then smirk.

"Thank you Hawi, for taking care of son. I always owed you."

"No big deal mother. His doing the same thing to me."

"Kidding aside, I will miss you sweetheart. My day will not complete without your everyday nag. Please visit me if you have spare time okey." he sad seriously.

"Umm. Surely." I said.

The next morning I pack some of my thing. And get myself ready to go home. My mom waiting for me.

It's been five years now but the house look the same. I was so nervous when I knock the main door. My mom open it for me.

"Welcome home son." my mom smile and hug me tight.

"Welcome home young master." our helpers greeted me too.

"Please, bring Chain luggage to his room." She said to our helpers. "Did you had your breakfast son, do you want me to prepare something?" She asked me.

"No, mom. I'm good. I just want to rest first."

"Sure. You can head out in your room son. It already fixed for you. Asked the helper if you need anything." I just nod to her. "C-chain, y-your dad is in our room." she said hesitated.

"Uhm. I meet him later."

When I entered my room, I look around. My things are still intact. There's nothing changed. The picture of me and Leam still in the wall. I lay down on the bed and closed my eyes. It's feels like yesterday.. Struggles, happiness, gaining and losing.. And now I'm back here, uncomfortable. I pick my phone to call Hawi.

"Hello." I said.

"Sweetheart, you missed me already?" he tease.

"On your dream." I said.

He laughed. "Are you okey there? How was it?"

"I never talk to him yet. I'm too nervous."

"Come on, everything will be fine okey." he said.

"Can you look for my apartment while I'm here. Don't bring woman there, I'll kill you!" he laughed.

"What do you think of me, I have money to rent a hotel room Mr Chain."

I laugh. "Better then. I gonna go now to meet my dad. Wish me luck."

"Yes, good luck. Take care. Remember to comeback to me soon."

After the phone call with Hawi. I get ready myself to meet my dad. I was trembling when I knock my parents door room. I heard my mom said 'come in' . I turned the knob and enter the room. I saw my mom standing beside their bed while my dad laying his head in the bed. He even not bothered to give me a glance. He continued reading in his laptop. I look my mom and she nod at me.

"D-dad... h-how are y-you?"

"How come you still know the way here." he said sarcastic.

"Federico, you are suppose to be happy that your son is finally came home." my mom said.

"Am I?" he look my mom. "After so many years, is he cared about us? Why bothered to come back now?"

I sigh. I expected this. My dad never take step back to someone. He's too stubborn like me.

"I understand your feeling now. It's same here. But you have no choice since you need me to look for your company now." I tried to calm and stand still. Deep inside I feel the anger. "If you're really itchy to kick me out here, then take care of yourself and get well as soon as you can."

"Son.." my mom look worried.

"Its okey mom, I already got used to it. For dad, I'm nothing, but Leam is the best son he dream of. Leam is all he want." I look straight at my dad. "I'm sorry, if I didn't passed your standard. I'm sorry because this beloved son of your is proudly gay that will gave you ashamed for rest of your life." I said.

I can't help the tears falls down in my face. For this past year I was hoping my dad will open up for me. But now I'm hoping for nothing.

"Tell your secretary that I'll report to your company tomorrow as the acting CEO for few days as soon as you get well." I said before I left their room.

This night, is the longest night I ever experienced so far. I can't sleep, my head is full of things to think.
