Chapter 2447
The Ex-Husband's Revenge
âI see,â Caleb and the others were visibly disappointed.
Though Hugh was here to discuss the collaboration between the Morrisons and Cynthion Group, the purpose of this visit would be fulfilled regardless. However, Hugh was merely a vice-president and his status could hardly hold a candle to Leonâs.
The Morrisons gathered everyone who held power in the family to await Leonâs arrival, yet Leon simply sent one of his subordinates over.
This felt like Leon was disrespecting them, so they were all displeased.
âHow arrogant! We all gathered here to welcome him upon knowing that he is coming, yet he dares to look down on us! He lacks sincerity!â A man in his fifties stood beside Calbe and said angrily.
He was Hugoâs uncle, the leader of the second generation of the Morrisons, Jayden.
The Morrisons were slightly different from the Thompsons.
There was only a single bloodline that stemmed from Caleb. However, Caleb had two sons, with one being Hugoâs father and the other being Jayden.
Though Josiah was the eldest son, Jayden was far more talented and reached the Almighty State two years ago, making him the only martial artist in the Almighty State amongst the second generation.
Because of that, he was referred to as the leader of the second generation and was trusted by Caleb and the elders. It was hardly an exaggeration to say that he held even more power than Josiah.
âThatâs right!â
âLeon Wolfs too full of himself!â
The other elders nodded in agreement, seemingly displeased about Leonâs absence.
âMister Morrison, Iâm sorry. Something urgent required our chairmanâs attention, so he couldnât come.
He didnât mean to disrespect the Morrisons. If it seems that way, I apologize in his place and beg for your forgiveness,â Leon said.
Based on Hugoâs introduction, Leon could already tell that the man before him was Jayden.
It was indeed his mistake for not informing Hugo about his intention to hide his identity before coming, which clearly upset the Morrisons. Hence, he sincerely apologized to everyone.
âIn his place? Who are you to speak on his behalf?â Jayden scoffed and looked at Leon in contempt.
âYeah, my dadâs right! Cynthion Group should consider it an honor that the Morrisons are willing to work with you, yet your chairman decided that heâs above us all! Who does he think he is?â Just then, a young man behind Jayden chimed in.
He was Jaydenâs eldest son and Hugoâs cousin, Georgie.
Georgie did not go to the southern region and did not know the background of Cynthion Group. All he knew was that it was a relatively small pharmaceutical firm that was not supported by any powerful family.
As the head of all families in the western region, the Morrisons had a great influence that Leon and Cynthion Group could not compare to.
Hence, he had a sense of superiority and did not see the point in respecting Leon. However, Leon saw it fit to be absent in their meeting, blatantly disrespecting the Morrisons.
There was no way that Georgie could stand this.
