“I-” Renee was utterly stunned.

Both she and Leon indeed just reserved a hotel room, but she was only doing so to help Leon settle down, so what Ariel la imagined was far from the truth.

“Ariella, you’re mistaken. Hugh here is my family’s business partner and I’m here to help him settle down.” Renee snapped out of it and explained, only to realize that her words were not helping.

“It’s fine, Renee. You don’t have to explain. It’s normal to have a boyfriend at your age, so you don’t have to lie. Besides, we are all adults and intimacy is normal. I can understand,” Ariella said with a smile, clearly not believing what Renee said.

“She knew that the Morrisons were the most powerful family in the western region and Renee held a high status as the eldest unwed daughter of the family.

If Leon was truly a business partner, Renee would never tend to his needs given how proud she was.

It was unrealistic to consider that.

In all of the western region, no one in any of the powerful families deserved the pleasure of being served by Renee.

“But,” Renee wanted to explain but did not know where to start.

“Miss Oxford, you’ve misunderstood! This isn’t what you think. Miss Morrison and I are just friends,”

Leon hastily explained in an attempt to help Renee.

“What? You won’t even admit to what you did? Mister Wolf, you are a man. Are you not going to take responsibility?” Shocked, Ariella shot him a displeased look, assuming that Leon was trying to evade responsibilities after having his way with Renee.

As Renee’s good friend, she could not tolerate such actions.

“No, I’m not doing that,” Taken aback, Leon shook his head instinctively. He soon realized that his response was problematic and swallowed his words, but it was too late.

“I thought so. It’s a good thing that you are willing to take responsibility. Renee is the most beautiful woman here in the Western region with countless suitors pursuing her.

Since you have the pleasure to be her boyfriend, you need to treasure her.” Ariella nodded, her expression easing.

“That’s right. Mister Wolf, you’re lucky to be with Miss Morrison,” Joshua agreed enviously.

He did not know who Leon was, but Leon was hardly exceptionally handsome, nor did his presence command respect. Judging from what he could see, he felt that Leon fell short when compared to him.

Hence, he could not understand how Leon attracted the most beautiful woman in the western region.

“I-” Leon’s expression darkened as he struggled to find his words.

Both he and Renee exchanged resigned and helpless looks in silence.
