Chapter 89 Where is she?

"Leave me." She was struggling hard but the guy who was hugging her was in no mood to leave her anytime soon.

"Alex" Clara jumped when he tickled her.

"You have joined hands with Sandy to plot against me. So, the punishment should be big enough for you to not do that again" Alex muttered under his breath as his breath tickled her neck more. Clara was begging him to leave her but he had no heart to leave her.

"Please, your dad will come" Clara is solely concentrating on the opened door. And who knew that better than Alex? He purposefully hugged her while keeping the room door wide open.

"What's the point of punishment then?" Alex winked at her while she turned tomato red with his words.

Cupping her cheeks, he didn't waste another second to kiss her lips, taking her to surprise.

"We didn't see anything" Frank's voice startled her while she sat on her bed with a blushing face.

Another dream and another morning.

Reality hits her hard as her eyes lined up with tears. She moved to the dressing table and sat there.

"You are the most beautiful thing that has happened to me in my life" Clara wrote the quote in her diary. She stood up from the chair.

Her reflection in the mirror has changed completely. Her shoulder level hair grew up to her waist and she has no time to even maintain it. Her face has a natural glow as always but the little shine was missing which made her face dull than before.

It's been five months since she was away from Alex. But it felt eternal for her. In these months, she realised only one thing that her love for him grew thousand-fold and she couldn't control the pain of being away from him. She has no idea how hard she fell for her husband.

Clara walked gracefully, shrugging off her thoughts. It's been said that if you hit the rock too much, it would break at some point. But you never know what that broken rock is capable of. Clara smiled recalling the words. She was broken beyond imagination but that's what helped her stick to her broken parts.

"Getting back to number one?" Clara muttered as she read the new article about Alex. She is aware of what extent his business dropped when she left him. A part of her was happy realising how much importance she was holding in his life.

"I found out about the hospital" The words made Clara stop her tracks. She turned to see Jason with his evergreen smile. She can run away from the world but not Jason. He caught her exactly on the day she was running away. He was so stubborn that he wouldn't leave her side. Clara had to accept him as he threatened her that he would call Alex if not.

"Thanks" Clara replied formally and Jason slapped her shoulders. He glared at her to not say thanks but Clara is Clara. She is still feeling sorry to drag him there. He kept his bag there and turned to say something.

"It's just two weeks we came here, but your bodyguards have already tracked down your whereabouts" Jason gasped saying those.

"Should we vacate this place too?" Jason asked as he started packing her stuff already.

It's been their routine to change their places when Jason's spy informs him about something.

"Let's just stop this run" Clara replied with a bored smile as Jason stopped packing her stuff in shock. What does she mean?

"Ah" Elena screamed in pain while Elsa ran to her side "My legs," She yelped.

"Oops. I targeted your head but guess it needs more practice" Paxton replied while he took the ball which just hit Elena's legs.

"You," Elena stood up in anger to hurt him.

"I will just make you disappear just like your sister" Elena spoke as she grabbed him by his collar.

"I am not Clara to just run away. I will destroy you completely before you even think to hurt me" Paxton replied as he grabbed her hands away with all his strength.

"Just pray that my sister comes back to me safely. Or else I can't assure you of your life" Paxton threatened Elena directly as he got inside his room with so much sadness in his eyes. He closed his eyes as he sobbed silently. Clara left him in this home all alone. She didn't think about him. He was not angry about that. Because he knew he was always an obstacle for her. But he is angry with himself that he couldn't save his sister.

Summer comes with no sound while they get ready for the winter arrival already. It's been 5 months and the story stood where it stopped.

Alina clutched her baby bump and came down sweating purposefully. She couldn't handle this mood swings and also physical tiredness. She is completely exhausted. She just wished to get back to her normal life soon. She also cried thinking why does she have to get pregnant this soon. But seeing the scan copy of her child, she smiles often and forgets all her worries.

"Have this drink" Edward came with the tray of orange juice and she sighed tiredly. She can skip anything but Edward's juices? He always makes sure that she empties the glass in one sip. He doesn't care if she vomits them all or not. But he thinks that the kid gets all the nutrients before she empties her stomach.

"Thanks," Alina mumbled with a smile. She knew that denying means another round of fight with him. She doesn't want to fight with him especially when she is at her limit.

Everyone could see how drastically Alina changed over these months. It's as if she was blaming herself for whatever happened that day. The day when Clara left them, Alina came back to their home to tell them that Clara is not at fault. But it's delayed already. Alina started picking fights with almost everyone and the best part is no one gets chided with her nature now. They adjusted well for her mood swings.

"Dear, have you taken medicines?" Grace asked while Alina's face changed into a frown giving a warning to all.

"Brother" Alina screamed loudly as she stood up in anger. Edward sighed tiredly. Though he doesn't like her being stressed out, he knows that it's because of her, everyone is having their part of happiness.

"What happened, Alina?" Alex came there in his calm demeanour.

"You forgot to bring me tablets and I didn't take my morning dose. What will I tell my kid? That his uncle forgot about him? That his uncle doesn't care about him? I know that you don't care about me anymore" She spoke in one go while Grace smiled at Alex's nervous face.

Alex was completely shut down since Clara left him. He couldn't understand her sudden disappearance. He was supporting her like anything and she chose to leave without a word. It was a big betrayal for him. He was shattered and he didn't speak with anyone for one whole week since that incident. He tried to search for her and she was nowhere found.

Alina was the single person who could make him dance to her tune. Her tantrums and her tiny happiness made him smile these days. He started trying to maintain his life.

"I got them and kept it in your drawer already" Alex winked at her while she was embarrassed to yell at him.

"Thank you" She mumbled with an embarrassing smile.

"Let's have breakfast" Frank as usual called his son with a hope. And Alex nodded no and left the home to start his usual day.

Alex entered his cabin and sat there gazing at the ceiling.

"Someone saw Clara on the west side. So, I sent our team to find her" Mac informed Alex while he sat straight.

"Should we stop searching for her?" Alex asked, unsure of his own opinion. He is tired of everything now. Sandy on one hand was not talking to him even though he tried like hell to apologise to him while his whole life is shattered with Clara's sudden disappearance. He is damn angry but he just couldn't get angry with her even now. In his heart, he has a hope that she wouldn't have left him just like that. Maybe she had something which she couldn't share with anyone. That's what he is hoping for.

"If you want to stop searching for her, you can do that. But I can't" Mac replied and left the cabin angrily. Alex is amused with the fact that Clara's disappearance affected Mac and Sandy so much that they both were trying like hell to locate her. But Alex was just sitting in his office idle expecting her to return to him on her own.

He took the letter from his pocket and read the content for the hundredth time in these months.

Clara's letter 'I am sorry. Thanks for everything. Thanks for trusting me. I am sorry for letting you down. But..." Her letter was incomplete with that But. The word, Sorry was a little smudged. Alex touched the smudged word and the fact that he couldn't get angry with her was he could see her pain in that smudged word alone. She was crying. These days together with her, Alex knows how strong she is and it would take hell a lot of effort to make her cry. He wants to see if she is alright or not. He wants to yell at her for leaving him and also not trusting him.

"Someone saw Clara on the western side" Mac's words made him automatically stand up and he grabbed his keys to check the information by himself.
