Chapter 411
Meet My Brothers
After her reveal, Mia couldnât help but notice that Maya and Shellyâs expressions had darkened.
Shelly, barely containing her anger, exclaimed hoarsely, âYou mean you didnât call the police?â
Mia responded casually, âYeah, it was just a bluff to scare you guys.â
Upon hearing this, Shelly was so enraged that she sprang up from her chair, exclaiming angrily, âMia,
Iâve had enough of your antics!
âDo you know how much effort I put into moving all these lights upstairs? And now youâre telling me you
didnât even call the police?â
Taking a few steps back, Mia remarked, âYou should be thankful I didnât call them. Would you have
managed to move all this stuff in time otherwise?
âConsidering todayâs outcome, does it really matter whether I contacted the police or not?â
Shelly was taken aback, realizing she had been manipulated by Mia.
Maya was equally furious, but she was too worn out to confront Mia any further.
Clutching her high heels, she stood up and told Shelly. âLetâs go. My back feels like itâs on the verge of
giving out.â
âAgreed, my feet are blistered. I just want to go get a massage and unwind.â Shelly sighed.
Maya waved her hand dismissively. âIâm with you. Letâs leave. Thereâs no point in wasting any more of
our time here.â
Shelly turned back, shooting a fierce glare at Mia. âDonât think youâve won, Mia. Your time will come!â
âGoodbye, feel free to drop by anytime,â Mia retorted sarcastically.
Just as she said that, Mia observed Maya and Shelly walking away in hurried steps.
Mia couldnât help but laugh, especially when she remembered seeing Maya and Shelly utterly
exhausted
and slouched in their chairs. It was truly satisfying.
Mia wondered if Maya and Shelly would have the nerve to stir up trouble again.
With her focus on decorating the hall, Mia had little patience for dealing with these troublemakers.
She preferred they stayed away, but if they did turn up, Mia would not be accommodating at all!
Shortly after, Mia stumbled upon the VIP guest list for the event in the internal group chat, where she
spotted Timothyâs name among the invitees.
Her gaze lingered on his name, surprised to find it on the guest list. Given Timothyâs busy schedule,
Mia
doubted he could spare time for a college music show.

Meanwhile, at the Barrett Group. Timothy emerged from the meeting room and began delegating tasks
to
his subordinates.
Upon returning to his office, Heath approached him. âMr. Barrett, youâve been invited to attend a music
show hosted by Halvard University.â
Timothy glanced at the invitation, his eyes narrowing slightly. âIf I recall correctly, this is the Music
School overseen by Claude, the playboy, isnât it?â
Clearing his throat, Heath confirmed, âYes.â
Timothy scrutinized the invitation and inquired, âWhatâs Miaâs involvement in this music show?â
He remembered seeing Mia leaving a hotel with Claude before.
Heath hesitated before responding, âAccording to my findings, Ms. Bowen is responsible for decorating
the hall this time. Her design proposal was accepted without needing any adjustments.â
âHmph!â
Timothy stared at the invitation, his expression darkening. He hadnât anticipated Claude to be so skilled
at charming women.
Just then, a staff member from the secretaryâs office knocked on the door and entered. âMr. Barrett,
thereâs someone here to see you.â
Timothy looked up, inquiring. âWho is it?â
âHe goes by the name Jason Lane, and heâs serving as the attorney of Ms. Bowen.â
Upon hearing the last part of the sentence. Timothy pursed his lips tightly, and the tension in the office
escalated. He spoke sternly, âBring him in.â
Heath felt a sudden tingling sensation on his scalp. Why were things unfolding one after another like
this?
Before long, Jason entered the office dressed in a dark suit, holding a briefcase. Behind goldârimmed
glasses, his gaze remained composed yet piercing as he met Timothyâs eyes.
