Chapter 500
Meet My Brothers
Mia frowned. âJust what are you trying to imply?â
âIf you want to continue being Mrs. Barrett, have it your way. Iâll support you but on one condition.â
Mia raised a brow. âWhat is it?â
Shellyâs eyes brightened. âEasy. Tell Timothy to unfreeze my credit cards and you have to give me a
credit card with a high credit limit.â
Shellyâs stupidity and greed shocked Mia. She answered in disbelief, âJust who gave you the nerve to
come up to me to make this kind of demand? Iâm curious.â
âItâs not that easy to become one of us. I was planning to tell Maya about your pregnancy and your
biological parents, but I kept it a secret for you.â
âArenât you getting along well with her? Why the sudden hostility?â
âThatâs because sheâs too stingy. She wants to become Mrs. Barrett without paying the price she
should!â
Now, Mia finally knew why Shelly turned her back on Maya.
Mia gave it a thought. âGive me some time to think about it. Iâll give you an answer after this.â
âGive it a serious thought. If Iâm on your side, youâre halfway there in becoming Mrs. Barrett.â Shelly
walked away like a happy bunny. 1
Mia wore a mocking expression. She would never agree to that condition.
It seemed like Shelly didnât know that Mia and Timothy were divorced, but that didnât matter at all.
After the ceremony, and if Mia passed her exams, she would leave Bern City.
When that event came to pass, no one would believe in whatever Shelly said. Even if they do, no one
could pose a threat to Mia anymore because she wouldnât be in Bern City.
Her hands stroked her belly before she examined the remaining waiting rooms.
When Mia was in the final waiting room, Eva contacted her. âMia, why didnât you wear the new dress !
bought you to college?â
âI have some work to do
âI have some work to do. The dress will make it inconvenient.â
12
âThat wonât do. Iâll come to you with your new dress. With the stylist too. Todayâs your big day. You have
to doll yourself up!â
âOkay.â Mia couldnât turn down the offer. After all Eva would bring the dress over anyway.
Terminating the call Mia looked back to find a familiar face at the end of the corridor.
Bewildered, Mia walked up to the person. âDana, Is that you?â
The woman hiding in the corner slowly walked out, guilt evident in her expression. âMia.â
Mia didnât see Dana and couldnât keep in touch with her the entire time.
Danaâs betrayal pushed her to agony for a few days, but time healed her in the end. Mia simply
concluded that Dana couldnât resist the monetary offer from Maya.
Dana walked up to Mia and begged, âMia, I was wrong. Iâm so sorry. I hope you can help me talk to the
school management. Ask them not to expel me. Please.â
That request put Mia in a tough spot. âI donât have the call for that.â
âMia, are you really going to drive me insane?â
Mia pursed her lips. âDana, I didnât force you to do anything. But should you be responsible for the
wrong
deeds youâve done?â She left after saying that.
Dana stood there with a stormy expression. âIf you say so. Donât blame me for not showing mercy.â
