Chapter 507
Meet My Brothers
Mia looked at Maya calmly. âItâs precisely because my family bought it for me that I can never allow you
to accuse me of using an imitation.â
Maya guffawed. âYour family? Can they afford it?â
She wasnât buying it. According to her investigation, Miaâs adoptive family was too poor to afford.
branded items.
Mia replied, âWhatever. But Iâm surprised that you, Maya Lane, are wearing an imitation. Is that bag
fake
too?â
The word fake triggered Maya so much that she raised her squeaky voice. âHow dare you! This bag is
real!â
Gina chimed in, âBut your dress isnât.â
Maya failed to manage her expression. âStop pretending, Mia Bowen. I know how you got that dress. If
it
isnât Timothy, you mustâve asked for it from another man. Let me guess. Is it Connor?â
Maya was aware that Mia was close to Connor.
Mia was stunned but remained composed. âItâs not him, but youâre close.â
It wasnât Connor but Eva who had bought the dress for her. Maya was close to the right answer.
âI knew it! How could you be so shameless to ask something from him? Who do you think you are?
Didnât
you say that it was your family? Iâm not buying your lies, you goldâdigger!â
Mia arched a brow. âWhat are you talking about, Maya? Youâre getting the wrong idea of our
relationship.â
âDid I say anything wrong? You approach the Lanes so that you can be a realâlife Cinderella, donât
you?
Let me break it to youâthatâs impossible! Youâll never marry into their family!â
The situation was funny to Mia. âI canât really follow you. Why canât I do that?â
Maya laughed, and madness flared in her eyes. âTake a guess!â
Maya thought to herself, âBecause youâre the true Ms. Lane. You and Connor are brother and sister.
How
could you get married and be a family? I will keep this secret from you forever!â
Mayaâs smile creeped Mia out. A nostalgic scene played in her head.
Maya seemed familiar to Mia for some reason, but according to her memories, she didnât know Maya
when she was young.
Right then, Sharon came up to them, âAbout what?â
Maya smiled sweetly before saying triumphantly. âMrs. Barrett, Miaâs wearing an expensive dress
today. Considering her background, she shouldnât be able to afford it, so I guess some rich guy bought
it for her.â
When Sharon noticed the dress on Mia, her expression turned awkward. It was that exact same dress
Mia wore on the day Sharon ran into her and was driven out of the store!
Sharonâs silence raised Mayaâs questions as she asked, âMrs. Barrett, are you alright?â
âYâYeah, I heard that thereâs a celebrity backstage. My friend loves her, so I came over to ask for a
signature.â
Maya informed, âShe went outside.â
âIs that so? Letâs go then. The ceremony is starting soon.â Sharon didnât want to stay here for another
second longer.
The sheer sight of Mia would remind her of the incident when she was driven out of the store. It was
utterly embarrassing.
âArenât you angry, Mrs. Barrett?â Maya wasnât going to let this slide that easily.
