Chapter 614
Meet My Brothers
Ginger looked up at him, her smile radiant. âMister, youâre such a kind person.â
âWhy did they kidnap you? What does your mother do?â Timothy inquired, his eyes narrowing.
He was aware that the staff at the Xanier Island Grand Hotel wouldnât simply abduct a child without
reason; there must have been something suspicious going on.
Ginger nervously glanced down, swaying her bare feet. âI donât know why they took me.â
âBe honest with me!â
Timothy sensed immediately that she was trying to divert the conversation. He calmly stated, âI donât
like it when people lie.â
Ginger sulked as she replied, âI asked the hotel staff about my dadâs room. They said theyâd take me to
him, but instead, they tried to lock me up secretly.â
Timothy furrowed his brows. âWerenât you looking for your mom?â
Ginger looked at him with teary eyes, wearing a guilty expression. âIâm sorry, mister. I lied.â
Timothy sighed softly, unable to forget Gingerâs earlier comment in the car about having only a mother
and no father.
Considering this, his heart softened further. âGive me your momâs phone number.â
With that, Timothy reached for his phone, realizing Ginger must have given him a fake number earlier.
Approaching timidly, Ginger sat near him, nervously clasping her hands together. âMister, I want to find
my dad!â
âYou donât need to worry about these adult matters,â Timothy reassured her.
He found it puzzling why Gingerâs parents, despite their strained relationship, hadnât bothered to
communicate their differences to her.
If Timothy hadnât met her today, who knows what danger she might have faced.
Feeling anxious, Ginger grasped his hand and pleaded in a sweet voice. âMister, if my mommy finds
out,
Iâll definitely get into trouble. She looks very scary when sheâs angry.â
âWhy did you decide to sneak out then?â
âI just want to see my dad once, then Iâll sneak back so Mommy wonât find out.â
Looking into her large, watery eyes, Timothy eventually relented. âAre you sure your dad is in this
hotel?â
âIâm positive. Mommy said it hersell!â
Timothy reclined on the sofa. âThen why would the hotel staff kidnap you when you asked about your
dad?â
Iâm hot sure either. Iâm a very wellâmannered and polite girl.â
Timothy couldnât help but frown. It seemed the issue might involve Gingerâs father. Could he be
involved in gambling, or perhaps engaged in illegal activities?
Timothy glanced at Ginger, âDo you know what your father does?â
âHeâs a businessman!â
It seemed likely that his business dealings were shady!
Becoming impatient, Timothy asked straightaway, âWhatâs your fatherâs name?â
He planned to have someone find him.
Ginger quickly replied, âHis name is Caleb!â
Upon hearing that name, Timothyâs usually composed demeanor turned uneasy.
$
In disbelief, he asked again, âWhat did you say his name was?â
Perhaps their names sounded similar.
âItâs Caleb! With a C. Ginger confirmed.
Timothy nearly crushed the cup in his hand. Caleb with a C?
Could it be that Ginger was Calebâs daughter?
Suddenly, a hint of jealousy flared in Timothyâs heart. Why did Caleb have such an adorable daughter?
And she bore such a striking resemblance to Mia!
Timothy wasted no time dialing Calebâs number. âCome to my room immediately!â
