Chapter 619
Meet My Brothers
Ginger rolled her eyes and asserted confidently, âMommy says if you brush your teeth properly, you
wonât get cavities!â
Caleb hobbled out, feeling more wretched than he had ever felt in his life.
As he settled onto the sofa, he fixed a stern gaze on Ginger. âWho sent you here?â he inquired.
âThe heavens did!â Ginger shot back.
âWhatâs your mommyâs name?â
âI already told you. My mommyâs name is Little Fairy.â
After a barrage of inquiries, Caleb felt emotionally drained, placing a hand over his chest. âI canât
believe
Iâve run into you!â
âWell, looks like youâre stuck with me! Thatâs lifeâs challenge for you!â Ginger retorted defiantly.
Upon hearing this, Timothy instinctively glanced at Ginger, his eyes settling on her small, round face
reminiscent of someone from his past; Mia had uttered those same words once.
A trace of uncertainty flashed in his eyes; Mia had passed away four years ago due to severe bleeding
from a miscarriage.

Nonetheless, Timothy never
believed it!
He gazed at Ginger standing before him. âNow that youâve found the person you were looking for, when
do you plan to return?â
Ginger huffed in frustration, declaring, âIf I had known he was such a jerk, I wouldnât have bothered
coming.â
Caleb was perplexed.
He felt as though he had chosen the wrong day to leave the house!
Timothy spoke in a composed tone, âWhich part of Nord City do you live in? Iâll purchase a plane ticket
and arrange for someone to escort you back.â
Calebâs surprise was evident as he exclaimed, âHey, kiddo, youâre from Nord City? Whatâs your name?â
Ginger arrogantly turned her head. âI donât feel like answering your question.â
Taking control of the conversation, Timothy intervened. âHer name is Ginger Lane.â
Caleb pondered her name for a moment, sensing a discrepancy but unable to identify it.
Ginger turned away from Caleb, displaying her evident disdain for him.
Timothy glanced at her. âYou still havenât answered my question.â
With a pout, Ginger replied, âChesterfield.â
Caleb found himself momentarily lost in thought. The esteemed Lane family resided in Chesterfield, the
capital of Nord City.
Adding to his intrigue, Ginger shared the Lane surname and bore a striking resemblance to Mia. Could
all of this be mere coincidence?
Timothy swiftly turned to Heath, instructing him, âArrange the closest available flight for her and send
someone to escort her to the airport.â
Heath promptly complied. After ending the call, he informed Timothy, âMr. Barrett, due to the storm
today. Xanier Island Airport is closed, and all flights are suspended.â
âWhen do they expect flights to resume?â Timothy asked.
âIt could be as late as tomorrow. Weâll need to assess the weather conditions then,â Heath responded.
Timothy cast a helpless glance at Ginger. âIt seems you wonât be able to return today.â
Ginger leaned in closer to him, her voice pleading. âTim, could you please let me stay over tonight? I
promise to behave!â
Turning to Caleb, Timothy quipped, âDid you hear that? Sheâll be bunking with you tonight!â
âWhat?â
âI donât want to!â
Caleb turned his gaze toward her. âArenât you here to find your dad? Why donât you want to share a
room with me? Do you dislike me or something?â
âHmph, I just donât want to bunk with a jerk like you.â
With that, Ginger arrogantly tossed her head, causing her braided pigtails to unravel, and her soft hair

cascaded down over her shoulders.
Caleb was infuriated.
With pleading eyes, Ginger turned to Timothy. âTim, could you please let me stay for one night?â
Timothy frowned. âI prefer not to share a bed with anyone.â
âI can sleep on the couch,â Ginger suggested.
Timothyâs brows furrowed tightly, but ultimately, he couldnât resist her pleading expression.
Just then, Heath interjected, âMr. Barrett, itâs time for your meeting with the lord of Xanier Island.â
Ginger lifted her head and spoke in a sweet tone, âTim, you should focus on your work. Donât worry
about me. Iâll wait for you to come back!â
Caleb clicked his tongue in disapproval. âYou really lack manners, addressing Tim so casually. Does
that mean weâre now peers?â
With her arms crossed in front of her, Ginger raised her chin proudly and continued to ignore him.
