Chapter 620
Meet My Brothers
GET IT NOW
After a brief acknowledgement. Timothy rose from his seat and left the room.
He
turned to Heath and instructed, âMake sure the bodyguard stays with her at all times and arrange for
some food to be sent over.â
Caleb trailed behind him and whispered, âHey Tim, where did you find this kid?â
Timothy shot him a sharp look. âIsnât she supposed to be your daughter?â
âOh, come on, canât you see who she resembles? Thereâs no way sheâs mine. If anything, she should
be yours. Sheâs the spitting image of Mia.â
The atmosphere turned noticeably colder at the mention of Mia.
Timothyâs expression darkened instantly, and he responded coldly, âIf you donât have anything useful to
contribute, itâs better to remain silent.â
âTim, I understand youâd rather not talk about Mia. But letâs face the facts. You brought her here
because she bears a striking resemblance to Mia, didnât you?â
Timothy immediately stepped forward, seizing Calebâs collar. âWhat are you insinuating?â
âI mean, itâs quite the coincidence that sheâs from the Chesterfield district of Nord City, and the Lane
family happens to be located there. Plus, her last name is Lane. Donât you find all these connections a
bit too peculiar to be a coincidence?â
Timothyâs grip loosened suddenly. After a pause, he spoke in a subdued tone. âAre you saying that she
might be Miaâs daughter? And that Mia didnât actually die?â
âItâs a strong possibility. I mean, you never actually saw Miaâs body back then, and the Lane family
hastily took it away. Doesnât that strike you as suspicious? And letâs not forget, youâve been searching
for her all these years, havenât you?â
âThe only reason Iâve been searching for her is to uncover the truth of what happened back then!â
Timothyâs eyes betrayed a hint of distress as he left, wearing a stern expression.
Caleb could only sigh, turning to Heath. âDonât you think what I said makes sense?â
Heath nodded in agreement. âAfter so many years of disappointments, Mr. Barrett just couldnât bring
himself to believe anything anymore.â
Ateanwhite, in the luxurious suite, Ginger sat on the sofa. She discreetly pulled out her Apple watch
and diated Sageâs number.
The call connected swiftly, and in a hushed tone, Sage spoke, âHey, Ginger, when you arrive at the
airport, just take a taxi to the amusement park.
âAunt Eva said sheâs meeting us for dinner, so I used our trip to the amusement park as an excuse to
buy us an extra hour.â
Ginger couldnât help but gasp, her voice tinged with anxiety as she exclaimed, âBut⦠but the airport is
closed, I canât come back now.â
âWhat should we do then?â
âSage, oh no! Il Mommy finds out Iâve sneaked away, Iâm in big trouble.â
On the other end, Sage couldnât help but furrow his brow. âAunt Eva is coming: I canât cover for you
night.â
âSage, you have to help me.â
âWhose idea was it for you to go to Xanier Island alone? Did you meet that man?â
all
Ginger pouted and responded sadly. âYes, I did. But he doesnât remember Mommy, and he doesnât
want to acknowledge me.â
âDid you teach that jerka lesson?â
Ginger nodded vigorously. âUhâhuh, I used up all the hidden weapons in my backpack.â
âSo, what are you going to do now? Where are you staying?â
âThat nice uncle said he could take me in for the night. He seems to know the jerk, but heâs not like him
at
all.â
Ginger had a daring idea; if only she could persuade Timothy to speak with Daddy.
âGinger, donât escalate things. I canât fix this mess for you this time. Youâll have to explain it to Mommy
by yourself.â
âBut, Sage Ginger murmured as she gazed at the now disconnected phone.
Beside it lay her watch, a silent reminder that there was no turning back this time.
Perhaps it would be better to have Mommy come and pick her up.
That way, she could also arrange for Mommy to meet Timothyl
