Chapter 776
Meet My Brothers
Mia couldnât help but feel surprised by Timothyâs unexpected trust in her.
Awkwardly, she responded, âI had the surveillance footage prepared. I was waiting for your arrival to
prove my innocence. But it seems that wonât be necessary now.â
Timothy gazed at her intensely. âDo you honestly think Iâm incapable of distinguishing right from
wrong?â
âWhen sneaky women are in the picture, guys often seem drawn to those they perceive as vulnerable.
Itâs a factor I canât afford to overlook,â Mia explained.
Timothy couldnât shake the feeling that Miaâs words held a deeper meaning, almost as if she were
subtly mocking him.
Glancing at Ginger in the hospital room, Timothy spoke up, âIs she prepared?â
Mia responded casually, âFor now, her emotions seem to have settled. I informed her that when itâs
time for your blood draw, she shouldnât let your kindness go to waste. I trust sheâll be cooperative when
the moment arrives.â
Timothy nodded in response. âWe can proceed the day after tomorrow.
After a moment of contemplation, Mia asked, âNow that your mother is aware of the situation, I have a
feeling she will strongly oppose your bone marrow donation. Are there any concerns from her side?â
âIâve already talked to my mother about the bone marrow donation process. It seems her reluctance
mainly stems from not fully understanding it.â
Mia nodded in acknowledgment. âThatâs good to know.â
However, she doubted Sharon would be receptive to reason. Even if Timothy clarified the intricacies of
the bone marrow donation to her, Sharon likely wouldnât consent to it.
So, ultimately, it all came down to Timothyâs commitment to donating his bone marrow to Ginger.
Nonetheless, Mia couldnât help but suspect that Timothy might have already figured out her and
Gingerâs identities, hence his strong determination to donate his bone marrow.
Despite this, Mia refrained from saying anything further. After all, as Gingerâs father, Timothy bore a
responsibility to act accordingly.
The next day, Timothy began receiving injections, finalizing his preparations.
Mia accompanied Ginger to visit Timothy, who looked frail and pale as he lay in bed.
Observing his condition, Mia promptly questioned the doctor, âHe doesnât seem well. Is everything
okay?â
âThis is the most challenging stage. Heâll improve after today. The medication heâs receiving is only
temporary, but it does come with significant side effects.â
Ginger approached Timothy and gently took his hand, softly breathing on it. âIt wonât hurt anymore after
I blow on it.â
Summoning his strength, Timothy turned to Ginger. âStay strong. Thereâs nothing to fear,â he reassured
her.
âOkay, I understand. Iâll be brave!â
Timothy mustered a smile and gently patted Gingerâs head. âOnce Iâm finished tomorrow, Iâll be right by
your side. You wonât have to worry when Iâm around.â
âOkay!â Ginger chirped happily, holding Timothyâs hand close to her face, her cheek brushing against it.
Witnessing this tender moment, Mia suddenly glanced up at the ceiling. Despite her plan progressing
smoothly, a pang of guilt lingered deep within her.
After all, she had been deceiving Timothy all along!
As Mia contemplated her next words, the hospital room door swung open forcefully.
âTim! Tim, what happened?â
Dressed in a patient gown, Sharon swiftly rushed into the room.
Upon seeing Timothy lying pale on the hospital bed, she was instantly enraged. âYou said you were
okay. Look at you now, do you really think you look okay?â
âMom, why are you here? I really am fine.â
As Sharon caught sight of Ginger by the bed, she exclaimed, âSo, this is the leukemia- stricken burden,
huh?â
With a solemn expression, Ginger corrected her, âIâm not a burden!â
âIf youâre not a burden, then what are you? Born without a fatherâs care, youâre nothing but a liability!â
Miaâs expression turned cold, and she stepped forward to shield Ginger.
Mia locked eyes with Sharon, her tone defiant. âDo you feel no shame speaking like this in front of a
child?â
Sharon scoffed, âWhatâs the problem? Did I say something inappropriate?â
Ginger peeked out from behind Mia and stated, âYes, youâre wrong. Mommy said that a child nobody
loves is the real burden.â
âHow can you claim youâre loved when you donât even have a father?â
Timothy pleaded, âMom, please stop.â
In a crisp voice, Ginger spoke up, âBut I do have a father! Tim is my daddy!â
