Chapter 110
I Refuse to Divorce!
Mason was about to say something when the door to the operating
room swung open. The doctor came out and let out a sigh of relief.
âWe pumped the patient's stomach and managed to stabilize her. We're
going to work with the police to get to the bottom of this incident, Mr.
Mason. Just leave it to us!â
Mason, however, remained calm.
Leaning over, he gave some instructions to Ava. âHave Lilith transfered
to Lockwood Hospital at dawn.â
She nodded in response, the bags under her eyes clearly visible.
Carly spoke hesitantly, âYou have to stay by Lilithâs side, Mason! She
could've died. She needs you now!â
Ava snapped at her, âMr. Mason isnât a doctor, for Heaven's sake!â
That silenced Carly immediately.
Then, Mason looked at Cecil and smiled, âI came here in such a hurry
that I didn't have time to explain everything to Zoe! She's probably
wrapped in her her blanket, feeling upset. Don't worry, Cecil. I'm going
to go home and keep her company now.â
He checked the time and continued, âI still have seven hours before I
have to go to work. That should give me enough time to make my wife
happy again!
âIt's like they said, a couple shouldn't carry a grudge to bed. You really
should find a lady and get married as soon as possible, Cecil. Then
you'll be able to relate to what I'm saying now.â
There was sarcasm as well as ambiguity in his tone.
Did he really think Cecil didn't understand?
He watched as Mason left, lowered his gaze, and smiled faintly. What
was funny was that Mason himself didnât seem to realize that he cared
very much about Zoe. Ordinary husbands wouldn't have cared this
much about their wives.
In fact, the ambiguity in Mason's tone was a clear indication that he
was being possessive of her.
It was already one o'clock in the morning by the time Mason returned to
his manor. The entire place was pitch dark when he got out of the car.
Raising his head, he saw that the lights on the second floor were
switched off as well.
It meant that Zoe had not waited up for him.
He smoked a cigarette before he took his coat off and headed upstairs.
He didnât turn on the lights when he opened the bedroom door. Instead,
he walked over to the bed, took off his shoes, and laid down next to
her.
Embracing her, he pressed his face against hers. She shivered slightly
in response. That meant she wasn't sleeping. She was probably in a
foul mood too.
The room was pitch dark. He spoke softly, âWhy aren't you asleep?â
Lying quietly on her pillow, she paused for a long time before answering
softly, âI was about to fall asleep.â
He chuckled a little. All of a sudden, he reached into the blanket and
flirted with her gently, the same way he did before he left. She squirmed
a little because she didnât like it, but he held her tight and spoke in her
ear with his husky voice, âDid I wake you up, then?"
It was almost as though he was the kind of husband who doted on his
wife!
Zoe might have stopped loving him, but she still felt the urge to cry
when she heard him. Her eyes started to well up with tears. She was
glad he didn't turn on the lights. Otherwise, he would've seen her in this
sorry state, and it would be deeply embarrassing.
She didnât respond to him, neither did he push for an answer. He
merely held her in his embrace and fondled her. Perhaps he did it out of
habit, or he simply wanted to make her feel good.
She put up with every single second of it, fighting hard to remain quiet.
Then, he got under the covers with her. She had worn a silk negligee to
bed and it was soft to his touch. On the other hand, he was still fully
clothed. He even carried the unique scent of the hospital's disinfectant
with him.
It was an ironic reminder that he had gone to the hospital to visit Lilith.
She tried to ignore it, but eventually it became too much for her to bear.
âPlease take a bath, Mason.â
That was when he turned her over and pinned her on the bed. He
stared intensely at her when he spoke, âYou didn't take the condoms
out because you were on your period. You took them out because you
thought I was filthy, didn't you?â
His words embarrassed her. Turning her face away, she buried herself
in the pillow and responded with a trembling voice that was filled with a
womanly charm, âThat's not it! Just stop, Mason!â
Grabbing her hand, he guided it to touch himself. At the next moment,
he leaned in and kissed her very gently. He didn't release her lips until
she cried. Then, he spoke softly, âI'm not filthy, Zoe! I haven't slept with
Brittany or Lilith. Hell, I've never had sex with anyone else but you.â
That stunned Zoe. A tear fell and made her feel more embarrassed.
She had given up on him because of the experiences she went through
in the three years of their marriage. However, something stirred in her
heart when she heard him saying that he hadn't had sex with anyone
but her.
Lying down helplessly beneath him, she listened to his confessions. It
was almost as if he was baring his soul to her. He told her she was his
first. He had only ever masturbated when he went out on business
trips, instead of having one-night stands with the women he
encountered.
Then, he spoke somewhat crudely and said she was the only person
he had ever gone all the way with.
Mason wasn't lying. Zoe was the only person he had ever slept with.
She encompassed the entirety of his sexual experiences. Every
position he had ever done, she had been who he had tested it on. She
was the only one he tormented in bed.
He wasn't the type of man who spoke much about sex and yet here he
was, talking about it with her tonight. It was an electrifying conversation.
He looked nothing like his usual, serious self, a man so stoic he gave
off the impression that he was asexual.
Given his charms, seduction was an easy game for him. At the very
least, Zoe's face was slightly red. Her face felt so hot when he touched
it. Chuckling, he turned on the night lamp and saw that her negligee
was askew and her hair was strewn over the pillow.
She looked so beautiful in that moment that it shook him to his core.
He finally understood why some men refused to have sex with their
wives when they were on their period. It wasn't because the other men
held themselves their lust. Instead, it was because these men hadn't
had a lady who was hot enough to make them lose control and obey
their feral instincts!
Suppressing his lust, he held her neck and kissed her. He muttered in a
trance, âl wish I could do it with you until you can no longer move!â
What he said let slip his kink. When all was said and done, he still
preferred to have rough sex.
