Suspended?!?

{200 fucking thousand reads?!? That is insane. This story only hit 100k at the beginning of July. 100k reads in 2 months especially when I've barely been uploading is crazy! Thank you all so much 💕

I only have 5 more chapters of this story to write and I'm upset about it. My favorite nights are when I just sit down, start writing, and knock out 1-3 chapters.

Ok I know I've teased the sequel in the past. Let's give some updates. I still don't know if it is going to see the light of day. I've planned out a decent amount of chapters. My main issue is I don't know how or when to end it. I have a solid first 15ish chapter but don't really know where to go from there. I'll figure it out. Oh and if I ever do publish it you all will be the first to know.

3 am;

"Suspended Harper?!? You got fucking suspended over this" Jessie questions.

We're in my room right now, on my bed facing each other.

"I had to. It was Finn or I. I wasn't going to let him take the fall for me" I say.

"You could have told them not to fight." She says.

"Two football boys aren't going to listen to me," I say.

"Harper, violence is never the answer"

"You sound like my mom," I say.

She doesn't respond. "Anyway, how's your hand?" She asks and takes my hand into hers.

"Eh. A little cut. Not too bad honestly" I say.

"How long are you suspended for?" She asks.

"Just a week. It was originally two but once they heard what happened at the party they shortened it" I say. A full week I get to spend with her. The principal really knew what he was doing there.

"What did your parents say?" She asks.

"Well, my dad was the one to come to the school since my mom couldn't leave her class. He acted like a disappointed father to the principal but the second we got in the car he gave me a high five and told me he wished I did worse" I say.

"That's slightly insane," She says.

"Oh, and my mom just knows I punched him, had no idea why, and said I'm my father's problem" I add.

"Again that's slightly insane," She says.

"Oh well, it keeps us covered up and me covered up," I say.

She finally relaxes on my bed and leans up against the backboard instead of facing me. I crawl into her lap. She starts playing with my hair.

"Are you ever gonna tell her?" She asks.

"Oh, absolutely not. Hey mom, I dated your boyfriend's daughter behind your back" I mimic.

"No, you liking girls," She says.

"Oh, I guess eventually. Haven't really thought about it" I say.

"Well I'll be here if you need me," She says and kisses the top of my head.

"I'm gonna wait a while. It's sus coming out so close after you" I say.

"How were the kids in school before the incident?"

"Finn was the only one to come up to me and say anything. Once I told him my fake story news spread between my friends and him. I expected more snickering and glances but I was completely fine. Some girl from the GSA even came up to me and even handed me a flier to join" I say.

"Oh, that's so good. You'll love those meetings" She says.

"I'm not going"

"What? Why not? I go to the one at my school," she says.

"Just doesn't seem like my thing," I say.

"It would be good for you. It'll make you realize you're not the only one like you in your school and that you have allies" She says.

"It's 2024. I know I'm not the only one like me and that people love me just for liking girls" I say.

"Oh, we are living in two very different worlds," She says. "It may be 2024 but you are still a queer teenager living in Florida of all places" She adds.

"I'll be fine." I say.

"I still think it would be good for you" She shrugs.

I turn around and plant a small kiss on her lips to get her to stop talking about this. I pull away but she leans right back in and kisses me again, deeper, more passionate.

After a few seconds, she pulls away. "I love you. I'll see you in the morning" She stands up.

"Wait, Jessie. Can you sleep in here tonight?" I ask.

She looks around for a moment. "Yeah, I guess. I just have to leave early so we don't get caught" She says.

I lie down and open the covers for her to get in. She lays next to me. I wrap her in the blanket and hold her close to me.
