Chapter 7: The Fire of Jealousy
i belong to you
The preparations for the charity event were nearing completion, and Taehyung was finally starting to feel proud of his contributions. However, tension was brewing as Soojin, Jungkook's ex and the key reason behind their fractured future, made her first appearance in the timeline.
Taeko had been bracing for this moment. He knew Soojinâs arrival would test everything heâd worked to change so far.

Morning â The School Courtyard
Taehyung was sketching designs under a tree, enjoying the rare peace of the morning. His concentration was broken when a soft voice called out.
âTaehyung, right?â
He looked up to see a tall, elegant girl standing before him. Her polished demeanor screamed confidence.
âYes?â Taehyung replied, squinting slightly.
âIâm Soojin. I just transferred here,â she said with a warm smile. âIâve heard a lot about you.â
Taehyungâs brows furrowed slightly. âFrom who?â
Before Soojin could respond, Jungkook appeared out of nowhere, his cold, unreadable mask firmly in place.
âSoojin,â he said flatly, his eyes locking with hers.
Soojinâs smile widened. âJungkook! Itâs been a while.â
Taehyung glanced between them, sensing the history in their interaction. Something about Soojinâs tone rubbed him the wrong way, but he chose to stay quiet.
âI didnât expect to see you here,â Jungkook said, his voice devoid of warmth.
âWell, life is full of surprises,â Soojin said coyly. Her gaze shifted to Taehyung. âAre you two⦠friends?â
âNo,â Jungkook said immediately, his tone sharp.
âYes,â Taehyung said at the same time, smirking as he looked at Jungkook. âWeâre working together on the charity event.â
Soojinâs eyes sparkled with interest. âA charity event? That sounds wonderful. Maybe I could help.â
Taehyung forced a polite smile. âWe have everything under control.â

Later â The Library
Taeko sat across from Jungkook, observing him closely. He could tell Jungkook was unsettled after seeing Soojin.
âShe caught you off guard, didnât she?â Taeko asked bluntly.
Jungkookâs eyes snapped to him. âWhat are you talking about?â
âSoojin,â Taeko said, leaning forward. âYou didnât expect her to show up, but here she is. I can see it in your eyesâyouâre still trying to figure out how you feel about her.â
Jungkookâs expression darkened. âMy feelings are irrelevant. Sheâs part of the past.â
âAre they, though?â Taeko pressed. âBecause if youâre not careful, sheâll become part of your future, too.â
Jungkook glared at him but didnât respond.

Evening â A Tense Encounter
Taehyung was organizing the decor samples in the art room when Soojin walked in.
âBusy?â she asked, her tone light.
âAlways,â Taehyung replied, not looking up.
Soojin wandered closer, her heels clicking against the floor. âYouâre really talented, you know. I saw your sketches earlier. Theyâre incredible.â
âThanks,â Taehyung said curtly, still focused on his work.
Soojin leaned against the table, studying him. âYou and Jungkook seem⦠close.â
Taehyung paused, finally looking at her. âWhy do you care?â
Soojin smiled, but there was a sharpness to it. âJust curious. Heâs a complex person, isnât he? Hard to get to know.â
âNot really,â Taehyung said, his tone firm. âYou just have to be willing to try.â
Soojinâs eyes narrowed slightly, but her smile didnât waver. âInteresting.â

Night â Taekoâs Observations
Taeko stood by the window, watching the stars. His mind was racing after everything that had happened that day.
âSoojinâs already trying to insert herself,â he muttered. âBut Taehyung isnât going to let her win.â
He smirked to himself, determination flaring in his eyes. âTomorrow, Iâll make sure Taehyung and Jungkook have no choice but to spend more time together. Letâs see how Soojin likes that.â
