Chapter 201
Sweet Subterfuge
Chapter 201
Larissa couldnt think of a reason why they were acting like this.
Therefore, she decided to wait and see.
âSure, Ill stay,â she said. âTomorrow, I shall accompany you to the hospital for chemotherapy.â
A panicked expression appeared on Yvetteâs face. âChemotherapy treatments need to be scheduled in advance!
Her voice shock as she plastered an unnatural smile on her lips. âBesides, the doctors are all on holiday during the New Year, We have to wait for an appointment after the holidays are over.â
Larissa pretended to believe the nonsense she was spouting.
âOkay, after New Yearâs Day, Iâll accompany you to make the appointment.â
âAlright.â This time, Yvette agreed readily.
Larissa had a premonition that something would happen during the three days of the New Year holiday.
It was already late, and Larissa decided to go back to her room to sleep.
Lana insisted on going with her.
âMom had someone clean your room every day! Isnât it clean?â Lana declared proudly.
Larissa wined the desk casually with her fingertips. Indeed, there wasnât any dust.
However, none of her belongings were left behind, nor could she see any traces of her past life with the Seymour family.
That didnât surprise her.
When she left abruptly back then, it undoubtedly brought shame to the entire Seymour family.
In addition, they might have had to compensate a significant amount to the other party.
Under such circumstances, it was perfectly normal for Xavier or Yvette to have ordered someone to dispose of all her belongings in a rage.
Lana walked a few steps ahead of Larissa and went straight to the wardrobe.
She opened the doors of the wardrobe in a flourish and presented it to Larissa.
The wardrobes in the guest rooms were not particularly large. They had two-doored wardrobes with three small drawers.
And yet, Larissaâs clothes back then couldnât ever fill it.
However, things were different now.
The entire wardrobe was almost overflowing with various clothes. There was no room to squeeze even another piece of clothing inside.
âMom had all these clothes sent in from major department stores around here, they are mostly from the autumn and winter collections
this year.â
Lana introduced each piece of clothing one by one, thinking that Larissa wouldnât recognize these high-
end brands.
âBesides that She opened the drawers below. revealing collections of jewelry, scarves, and innerwear of considerable quality.
It was evident that Yvette spared no expense, no matter what she intended to do this time.
Larissa followed Lana around as she presented each comer of the quest room that the Seymour family had prepared for her.
After that, Larissa changed into bathroom slippers. âThn going to lake a shower.â
However, Lana didnât leave the room.
Fidgeting with the hem of her dress, she bit her lower ip and stole a glance at Larissa.
âLarissa. Iâm sorry for what happened last time at Mr. Shieldâs house. Actually, Lasteady know that Mom was sick at that time, however, I couldnât tell you the truth in front of strangers. I felt realy sad and anxious when you relu, sed to return home with me. Besides, I wasnât in

such a good mood that day as I got reprimanded by Mr. Rogers, thatâs why Iran my mouth mindlessly.â
âItâs okay.â
Larissa patted her shoulder and said reassuringly. âKevan was in the wrong that day too. He should apologize to you.â
Lanaâs eyes filled with tears and she enveloped Larissa in a bear hug. âLarissa youâre the best!â
Hiding her face in Larissaâs embrace, Lanaâs gaze was cold as she gritted her teeth.
The next day, Larissa woke up late in the moming.
This was the first time she had the privilege of sleeping in ever since she lived with the Seymour family.
The Seymour Mansion was not only far from the city center, but also far from every school she and Lana attended.
However, Xavier would send Lana to school by car, while Larissa had to take the bus by hersell.
She had to wake up an hour earlier than Lana every morning, or else she would be late for school
As for the weekends, she would be awakened by Mrs. Harris at 6 am to clean the third floor with other household stall.
