Chapter 202
Sweet Subterfuge
Chapter 202
Around 9 am someone knocked on her door.
âMiss Larissa, are you awake?â the stall asked in a very respectful manner.
seemed like they had all been informed of Lanaâs threat yesterday.
Lying in bed, Larissa called out. âNot yet âDo you want me to bring you breakfast in bed, or will you come downstairs later to eat? the stall continued.
Larissa was pleasantly surprised by the luxurious treatment. At the same time, she felt increasingly anxious.
The Seymour family had gone all out in catering to her every whim.
Larissa was concemned if she wasnât cautious enough, she might fall into their trap unknowingly.
She sat up with disheveled hair and opened the door to take her breakfast tray.
On the tray were pancakes and some side dishes. This was Larissaâs favorite breakfast since she was a child.
She carried her tray inside and finished her breaklast before returning to bed, feeling ill at ease.
Anyway, since they didnât do anything to her yet, she would stay put.
Larissa decided that the best course of action right now was to lie in wait until the enemy made a move.
Not long after, Lana came to find her. âLetâs go next door and keep Mom company,â she said.
Larissa didnât refuse.
Yvette was still cressed in the same nightgown. However, she seemed more drawn as the yellowish hue on her cheeks appeared more
noticeable.
âYour complexion looks worse than yesterday.â Larissa said bluntly.
âReally?â Yvette laughed awkwardly, raising her hand to touch her face. âMaybe my condition has worsened.â
âDonât talk nonsenser Lana interjected, rushing forward and pulling Yvetteâs hand away from her face.
âItâs definitely because you were overwhelmed with Larissaâs retum and didnât get enough rest last night!â
Yvette chuckled sheepishly and echoed, âThat could be a possibility.â
Initially, Larissa failed to notice something odd.
However, when Lana grabbed Yvetteâs hand, the fair skin on her arm was in stark contrast to her sallow complexion.
Furthermore, her lingertips were mysteriously stained with a faint yellow color.
Larissa knew she was getting closer to the truth, but she showed no sign of it.
She couldnât confront them yet.
Seymour Mansion was filled with her enemies on their side, In addition, her phone was confiscated by Xavier and he still hadnât returned it
to her.
She had to be patient and endure until the three days had passed.
Once Mr. Compton noticed her absence, she would have a chance of leaving this place.
Larissa spent the morning chatting with Lana and Yvette.

Yvelle tried to lind out more details about Larissaâs job and daily life, but she brushed her questions off coldly with vaque answers.
In the afternoon, guests arrived at Seymour Mansion.
It was the boss of Summer Entertainment, who came with his wife and son to visit Welle.
Summer Entertainment was one of Cosmic Entertainmentâs long-term partners.

As before, Larissa locked hersell in the room so that she would not embarrass her lamily in front of guests.
âLarissa, why are you here alone?â Lana poked her head inside the room. âMr. Cole and his family are in the next room. Are you not going to greet them?â
âThereâs no needâ Larissa replied, changing channels on the TV mindlessly with the remote control.
Now that she did not have her phone or computer with her, watching TV was her only pastime here.
âWhy not?â Lara looked disapproving. âMr. Cole and his family came specifically to visit Mom because of her illness. As her daughters, we should at least show our gratitude to them, right?â
âHaving you alone to show gratitude would be enough,â Larissa sneered, her eyes lixed on the TV screen. âBesides, no one else knows about my existence. I donât think your mother would want others digging out gossip regarding her illegitimate daughter.
From the time she joined the Seymour family, Larissa had been introduced as the orphaned child whom Yvetteâs cousin left behind after their whole family died in a car accident.
Publicly, Yvetleâs reputation was greatly boosted by this arrangement.
Thinking about it, Larissa couldnât help but smile at the irony.
âLarissa, what are you saying? Lana furrowed her brows. âSince your sumame is Seymour, you are a member of the Seymour family. You
are my parentsâ daughter and my older sister. Perhaps we made mistakes in the past, but from now on, we will correct our wrongs and strive to make up for what you have suffered.â
