Chapter 175
I'm Sorry My Love Novel
Chapter 175
Then I Can Refuse to Answer Too The next afternoon, Leanna had just finished eating and was about
to enter the office when a call from an unknown number appeared on her phone. After her experience
from the previous day, she looked at her phone and hesitated for a while before picking up without
saying anything, preparing to hang up as soon as she heard that b*stardâs voice coming from the other
end. She would never give him a chance to threaten her. Unexpectedly, what she heard was the voice
of an unfamiliar man. âHello, Miss McKinney, Iâm from the moving company. Are you at home now?
Weâve already arrived downstairs at your house.â She was puzzled. âMoving company? Iâm not moving
at all.â
âYes, let me verify again. Youâre Leanna, Miss McKinney, right?â She frowned. âWho called you?â âIâm
sorry, Miss McKinney, it only shows your name, address and contact information.â Leanna fell silent
before she took a deep breath. âIn that case, please wait for me. Iâll come back now.â After hanging up,
she kept her phone and exited her office. Seeing that, Zoe asked, âNana, where are you going?â âThe
moving company called me and said that theyâre already downstairs, so Iâm going back.â âHuh? Let me
come with you.â Leanna refused. âItâs all right, Iâll go back alone.â A girl was already on leave today and
another had gone for lunch. If she left, Zoe would be the only one left in the studio. After a moment of
deliberation, Zoe handed the car keys to her. âAll right, go and see whatâs going on. If anything comes
up, just give me a call.â
âAll right.â The studio was not far from her apartment, so Leanna arrived home in just a few minutes.
When she opened the car door, she saw the moving companyâs car parked nearby. They had also
spotted her and instantly walked over. âAre you Miss McKinney?â She nodded. The man waved his
colleague over, who dragged a large box over on a cart. âMiss McKinney, please sign here. Weâll bring
it up for you.â She asked, âDo you have a blade that I can borrow?â âHere.â She used the blade to cut
through the tape around the box. When she saw that it was filled with clothes and not anything
terrifying, she finally let out a subtle sigh of relief and said, âIâm sorry, these donât belong to me. Please
send it back to where you got it from.â The movers clearly didnât expect this result, and they instantly
became troubled.
âMiss McKinney, this is an order sent directly by the company with orders that it must be delivered to
you. If we send it back, weâll be fired.â His colleague piped up, âMiss McKinney, Iâm begging you. Itâs my
first day at work, and my sister is still in school. I canât lose this job.â Leannaâs temples throbbed. This
method of threatening had that b*stardâs name written all over it. After a few moments of silence, she
gave in. âBring it upstairs.â âThank you, Miss McKinney!â âMiss McKinney, youâre the best!â When she
returned to the studio, Zoe saw that Leanna looked completely exhausted and couldnât help but ask,
âNana, what happened?â She shook her head weakly and forced a smile on her face as she returned
the car keys to her. âIâm going to continue drafting.â Sitting at her desk, she forced herself to cheer up
and not easily lose her spirit over some mild difficulties. It was precisely because she knew that b*stard
was deliberately causing trouble for her in order to make her beg for his mercy that she knew she only
had to ignore his actions.
However, she didnât expect that he would be persistent enough to mail a big box over for several days.
Soon, their comfortable and slightly spacious apartment was piled with boxes, leaving no room for them
to even walk. Zoe opened the boxes skillfully and took out a ruby necklace, her eyes lighting up at the
sight. âWow, Iâve seen this necklace at a photography exhibition before. Apparently itâs worth tens of
millions. How did it get stuffed in a box like this? Is Aidan crazy or am I the one whoâs lost my mind?â
Leanna, who was nestling on the couch, glanced up, thinking that the necklace seemed a little familiar.
It was probably during one of her birthdays that Jonathan said it was a gift from one of the companyâs
clients. Immediately afterward, Zoe found many more treasures from the box. âThis earring, this, and
this⦠Wow, this coat is a limited edition from a foreign luxury brand!â Zoe looked at the boxes with a
startled gaze. Apart from the clothes, most of the jewelry inside was given to her from Jonathan who
either said that they were from the companyâs clients or as part of the companyâs benefits, and she had
never expected each of them to be so expensive.
If she had known that, she wouldâve taken one or two things away back then so that she wouldnât be so
helpless when Aidan asked her to return the money. Sitting next to her, she sighed quietly. âI really
couldnât tell that that b*stard would actually be generous enough to give you such pricey gifts.â After a
moment of deliberation, Leanna picked up her phone before getting up. âZoe, Iâm going to make a
phone call.â She said through a bite of strawberry, âGo on.â As she walked to the balcony, she found
Aidanâs number from her blocklist and called him. Within a few seconds, he picked up, and his
indifferent voice sounded from the other end. âSpeak.â She said, âPresident Pearson, stop sending
things over. I donât need any of them.â Hearing that, he paused. âYou donât need them?â âYesâ¦â Before
she could finish, he continued, âLeanna, youâre overthinking it. Iâm not giving you those things as a
present, but you were the one who left them at Castor Villa without taking them away.â She was
rendered speechless. Aidan said, âSince you donât have the time to come over and take them, is there
a problem with me asking someone to send them over to you?â After a long while, she only managed to
squeeze out a word, âNo.â He concluded, âThatâs good.
Thereâs still more left in the closet.â There was a moment of silence before Leanna hurriedly
interrupted, âPresident Pearson! President Pearson, I donât want any of these things. Please give them
to someone else or something, all right?â âThatâs your problem. It has nothing to do with me.â She fell
silent. See, this b*stard can really hold a grudge. Just as she was about to smash her phone out of
frustration, he slowly spoke up, âThis isnât a difficult problem to solve.
You just have to go somewhere with me this weekend.â Leanna scoffed coldly, having expected that he
had ulterior motives. She rejected, âPresident Pearson, I have plans this weekend.â âWith who?â âA
friend.â âWhich friend?â Leannaâs hands tightened around the window rails. âPresident Pearson, I donât
have the obligation to report everything I do to you.â Aidan scoffed. âWhen did I ask you to report to
me? I was just asking you.â âOh, then I can refuse to answer too.â Her words rendered him speechless.
