Chapter 36
Ethan’s Vengeance of Love
It was the persona where there was pride and self-esteem, but there was an eagerness in her eyes that
wanted to take advantage of an influential man.
The image of the weak young man was vividly portrayed to the fullest.
Irvin frowned. He truly looked down on bootlickers that pretended to be noble. He had seen one too
many people like that.
Meanwhile, Ethan glanced at the business card Alice handed over. âBryce Parker?â
He then looked at Aliceâs face. At a glance, there was no trace of femininity on her face.
Ethanâs cold and sullen gaze made one shiver. âMr. Parker, what floor were you on?â
Alice answered without the slightest hesitation or reluctance, âThe second floor.â
Without batting an eyelid, Ethan pressed, âWhat kind of business was done?â
To her credit, Alice continued to answer quickly and naturally, âI consulted about the house transfer.â
âWhich counter?â Ethanâs questions were quicker and sharper each time as he tried to corner Alice.
If it wasnât for the wrong occasion, Alice would praise him for being a master of interrogation.
However, it wasnât a pretty sight when she was interrogated, but she had no choice but to answer,
âNumber five.â
âCaleb, go to counter number five on the second floor to verify his claim.â Only then did Ethan move his
gaze away from Alice.
Truth was, Ethan didnât find anything unusual in her answer, but he wanted to check it out.
On the other hand, Alice was really shocked.
What the f*ck?! Is Mr. Knight human?! Does he have to be so desperate? Does he have to be so
mean? He doesnât leave any room or way for me to survive! I must say that he is so cautious that it is
frightening!
However, Alice didnât know that this was Ethanâs way of doing his job.
Still, Ethan was even more strict on any matter regarding Alice.
He was bluffing when he first shouted at her to stop.
Ethan didnât stop Alice but instead, he let her walk past to see if he could spot any fault in her retreating
figure.
However, from the back, there was no figure that he managed to see. The figure was not visible
because of the loose coat.
Even so, he wouldnât let anyone go quickly.
Soon, Calebâs call came through. âMr. Knight, Iâve already asked; the staff at counter five said that a
man did come to inquire about the house transfer earlier. As the staff was too busy, he didnât pay too
much attention to the manâs look, only that he was wearing a pair of gold-rimmed glasses.â
Before Ethan could say anything, a noble lady in her forties entered the lobby at that exact moment.
The lady walked to Alice and Ethan. She first looked at Ethan and Irvin, then smiled politely. âMr.
Knight, Mr. Thorne, itâs my pleasure to meet you here.â
Then, she pointed at Alice. âHe is one of mine. He is not sensible; please forgive him.â
Afterward, she turned to Alice, who was dressed as a man, with a slight dissatisfaction on her face. âI
promised you I would give you that villa, but you still rushed over here to inquire about it? What are you
doing? Donât you believe me? You are with me, so I would never mistreat you. Câmon, donât embarrass
yourself here. I have a game tonight, and youâll accompany me there. Quickly now!â
Irvin was stunned.
Hmph! I knew he was just a weak young man! Also, heâs one of Miss Freemanâs!
Aurelie Freeman was infamous in Rodcaster. Her father was considered a well-known big shot in
Rodcaster, who used to engage in some questionable pursuits, but now it was all cleared up.
She was married twice, but both husbands died young. Some said they were caught cheating, so
Aurelie killed them.
Since then, Aurelie did not marry again, instead getting young men here and there.
She openly and unscrupulously got these young men for herself, and everyone knew about it.
The Freemans, Knights, and Thornes were business partners, so Aurelie, Irvin, and Ethan were all
acquaintances. âMr. Knight, Mr. Thorne, Iâll take him with me. I wonât bother you any further.â
âAll right, Miss Freeman.â As their families were partners, Irvin had to respect her, not to mention that
he never understood why Ethan was fixated on a man.
It was a woman who wrote the plan, a genuine woman! Itâs too much for Ethan being over the top for a
man!
Ethan, too, didnât stop Aurelie. He stared at Aliceâs back, who was now following Aurelie out of there.
At that moment, the retreating figure was not half as flamboyant and domineering as he remembered.
Instead, it was submissive and obsequious.
Ethanâs gaze grew colder.
Alice finally followed Aurelie out of the lobby.
At that moment, the elevator door opened, and Caleb walked out with a pair of ladiesâ high heels and a
ladiesâ bag in both hands. âMr. Knight, I found these in a trash can.â
Calebâs spirit animal must be a dog, as he was so accurate and fast in finding things.
âItâs hers.â Irvin identified the owner at first glance. âDid she have a huge makeover? She threw her
shoes and bag away.â
Ethanâs expression changed as he turned around to head out in pursuit.
If it is a huge makeover, she can disguise herself as anyone, including a man!
At this moment, Alice followed Aurelie to the car, which was in the courtyard.
Although Alice had managed to leave the lobby, she didnât dare let down her guard. Even though she
had never seen Ethan and only heard of him, she still understood his abilities.
Mr. Knightâs ability and mobility are definitely at an abnormal level.
As Aurelie was bossy, she parked right in front of the main entrance. Hence, Alice could still clearly see
the lobby after getting into the car.
So, when Alice saw Caleb come out of the elevator with her high heels and bag, she was utterly
shocked.
She had Apollo destroy all the surveillance in the service building earlier to cover up all the traces. Little
did she knowâ¦
Does that guy have a radar on him? This guy went upstairs for two minutes but managed to question
the counter and found what I had thrown. I threw my clothes in the trash can in the most remote corner!
It is indeed as expected from Mr. Knightâs employee.
It was also that moment Alice knew that most of the effort she had put in before was useless. Ethan
would definitely become suspicious of her again, and it was highly likely that Ethan would chase after
her.
âMiss Freeman, how are your driving skills?â Aliceâs expression grew grave as she stared at the lobby.
