Chapter 79
Ethan’s Vengeance of Love
Everyone was staring at Alice. Someone recognized her, and they gasped, âHey, thatâs Alice!â
âThat shameless woman who wanted to marry Bruce Yeager?â
âYeah, but she failed. Bruce wouldnât possibly marry someone like her.â
âHer scar is scary. Itâs nightmare fuel. No way anyone would want to marry her.â
âShe gave her company to him before they even got married. What a fool.â
âYou stole from my friend. Of course, you need to be investigated.â Rachel Sonny, who came to
demand an explanation, was scared at first, but when she realized who this woman was, she gained
her confidence back. This woman is nothing but a fool, and I have âproofâ she stole. Thereâs nothing to
be scared of.
âEvidence?â Alice looked at her calmly, as if Rachel was nothing but a maggot deserving nothing more
than disgust. Yet, there was an unmistakable sharpness behind that gaze.
Seven years ago, she lay low just to protect herself and the company. She left the city for seven years
and didnât explain herself because she just couldnât be bothered. Now she was back and prepared for
vengeance. That ruckus at the wedding was enough to send a message to the Yeagers.
The trap she set in the company would destroy Bruce, and Elijah was scared out of his wits just
because of some photos. She did not need to hide her strength anymore. If it werenât for the fact that
she was married to Ethan, she wouldâve launched an attack. And these fools think Iâm easy prey?
Rachel gulped and her legs buckled, but then she was delighted when Alice asked for evidence.
âXandra lost her necklace just now. You canât have hidden it anywhere else but your bag. You can
prove your innocence if you just let Xandra check the bag.â
Alice knew this would happen and didnât argue with her. Instead, she took her bag and placed it on the
table, smiling. âHereâs the bag.â
Rachel smiled smugly. Hah, you can fake it all you want, but in the end, you got scared. Now, we can
do whatever we want with you. Youâre done for.
Xandra Raine sneered as well. And I thought she was more capable than this. Turns out sheâs nothing
but trash.
Just then, Alice looked at Xandra. Slowly, she said, âButâ¦â She paused for a moment, cocked her
eyebrow, and said, âYou canât search it. Youâd dirty my bag.â
âWhat did you say?â Xandraâs face darkened as she felt humiliated. She might just be a no-name
model, but she had never been insulted like this before, especially not after she became Keithâs
woman.
Rachel, who was Xandraâs manager, flew into a rage. âDo you know who she is? Sheâs Keithâs woman,â
she threatened.
Keith was in a corner. He narrowed his eyes, and murder flared within them.
Alice smiled, but it was a mocking smile. âSo what?â She paused for a moment, and then she said, âNot
even your boyfriend has permission to go through my bag.â
The crowd was in disbelief. Keith was a terrifying man, and no one would ever go against him. No one
would disrespect him openly. They thought Alice was done for.
Keith cocked his eyebrow and smiled. He was reminded of someone, and the memory floated to the
surface of his mind. Despite so many years, the memory was still as vivid as ever. Yet, he had no idea
this girl was such an adorable and interesting soul. He looked at Alice, and his smile got bigger. I never
thought I would run into her again seven years later. This must be fate. Fate wants us to meet again.
As if she finally found something to threaten Alice with, Rachel shouted, âWhat? You said Keith doesnât
have the right to go through your bag? Youâve gone mad.â She knew Keith was around, and she was
saying that again so he could hear it, thinking he would get angry.
âFine. Then give me a reason why he can go through my bag. Or you can ask him to do it himself.â
Alice cocked her eyebrow calmly.
Keithâs smile turned into a grin, and there was love in his eyes. Itâs been years. Youâve grown. Youâre
bolder now. Challenging me, eh? But itâs fine.
The man beside Keith thought he would be mad, so he grabbed the chance to butter him up. âThat
woman is disrespecting you. Should I get someone to teach her a lesson?â
Keith shot the man an icy look, and he blurted, âShe said that I donât have permission to go through her
bag. Do you think youâre more important than I am that you can go through her bag?â
The man froze, and a chill ran down his spine. What does he mean? She said Keith has no permission
to go through her bag, and he agreed to it? Thatâs not how he works.
Keith drawled, âI do have permission, but I wonât do it.â I canât, he thought. They finally met again after
seven years, and he wouldnât hurt her. All he wanted was to keep her safe.
Rachel continued, âI think youâre scared. You donât want us to go through your bag because Xandraâs
necklace is in there.â Rachel was unafraid, thinking she held all the cards in her hand. âYouâre scared
because youâre guilty. When I find the necklace in your bag, youâre getting it.â Rachel wanted to forcibly
take the bag.
âTry me.â Alice didnât move, but when Rachel was about to touch her bag, Alice looked at her hand.
Rachel stopped, her hand trembling. The bag was less than an inch away, yet she had no courage to
move forward. It felt like her hand would be cut off the moment she extended it.
She wasnât the only one who got scared; everyone at the party was as well. Even Keith was a little
surprised. My, what a surprise. Iâve never seen a woman with her aura. She spoke softly and the look in
her eyes was calm, and yet a strong current raged underneath those still waters. I like her. The old
manâs been asking me to get married all this time. He used to think it was annoying, but now he
thought the proposition was just fine.
