Chapter 91
Ethan’s Vengeance of Love
Alice had deleted all the texts earlier, so Ethan couldnât find anything, but she had a few secrets stored
in her phone. It wasnât anything too top secret, yet he could still find something related to her past if he
wanted to. She didnât mind. Aside from Apolloâs information, she didnât mind whatever he saw. She
wouldnât hide it from him. He wasnât her enemy nor did they have any conflicts of interest, so he had no
reason to hurt her. However, he was a reasonable man. After he went through her call and chat history,
he returned her phone to her.
She took the phone, sulking and saying nothing. There was a look of anger on her face, telling Ethan to
stay away from her, or else. After all, her phone just got perused. It would be weird if she didnât show
any anger.
Ethan knew she was sulking, and he smiled before asking, âYou came to welcome me?â
âYeah. You went on a business trip to Rythens, didnât you? The earliest flight from Rythens to
Rodcaster lands at three. I thought I could run into you just in time, but you came out earlier,â she
answered despite still looking upset.
Alice would usually don her Tanner disguise whenever she had to talk business, so she knew all about
international flights. She knew the earliest flight that would come from Rythens, and now it made her
look like she Googled that just to welcome Ethan home.
âYou know about my flight?â Something in Ethanâs eyes stirred. He came out through the VIP passage.
If he had gone with the regular passage, he would have run into her. How did she know I was on that
flight? Thereâs another flight from Rythens at eight.
I did tell her that I would be away for two days, but I never told her about the specifics of my flight. I
didnât tell her to welcome me, and she claims thatâs what sheâs doing? When she didnât even care
about me two days ago? When she only saw me as an outsider? Now, she says sheâs here to welcome
me. I donât believe her, but then she knew when the first flight would land. Guess she calculated her
arrival.
âNo. I just came after I saw the scheduled flight. You told me you would come back today. It would
either be this flight or the next. I would have waited,â she answered seriously, looking at him. She still
sounded a bit miffed, however, telling Ethan she was still mad about her phone being checked.
âLetâs go.â Ethan didnât know how to cheer a woman up, so her tantrum was thrown for nothing.
However, when Ethan turned around, a weird smirk curled his lips. Hmm, thatâs logical. She came right
when the first flight would land. Perhaps she was worried she might miss me. Well, at least thatâs nice
on her part.
When Ethan finally came out with Alice, Caleb heaved a sigh of relief. âYouâre going to be late for your
meeting with Mr. Rivers, sir.â Does that mean the madam came to welcome him? No wonder he looks
so happy. Oh, I think I saw a smile.
âIâll just get a ride home.â Perfect. He has work to do, so I can excuse myself. My son is waiting for me
at the airport. I need to pick him up.
âYouâre coming with me.â Ethan held her and pulled her into the car before she could say anything.
What the hell? Alice was flabbergasted. Once again, she wanted to bite Ethan. I want to see my son,
not you. Why did you stuff me into your car? You know weâre just a fake couple, so act like one. She
wanted to leave, but that was impossible. Ethan didnât give her a chance to excuse herself and the
driver was already revving up the car.
They arrived at their destination, and Ethan took Alice upstairs.
Just when Ethan was about to enter a room, Alice stopped. âThis must be important. I shouldnât go in.â
It must be important since he came in a hurry. Weâre just a fake couple, so I really donât want to know
any of his business.
Ethan shot her a conflicted look, but he said nothing. âGo to the lobby and wait for me.â
âOkayâ¦â said Alice weakly. I donât want to wait for you. I want to see my son.
Once Ethan had gone into the room, Alice plopped down on the couch and looked around. No
cameras. She then took out her phone and texted, âAre you done eating, sweetie? Just hang on for a
moment. Iâll pick you up soon. Donât run around.â
A while later, Apollo texted, âOkay.â
It was just a simple text, but Alice teared up a little. Heâs only a child, and yet heâs abandoned at the
airport. Heâs not even throwing a tantrum. She cursed Ethan quietly. Itâs his fault I canât see my son.
She didnât want to waste her time waiting for Ethan. She already didnât have much time for Apollo in the
usual days, and now, she wouldnât let him wait at the airport alone for so long. She texted Ethan, âWill
this be long? Can I go around for a bit?â
A moment later, Ethan texted, âSure.â It was curt, but at least she had his permission now.
Alice heaved a sigh of relief and quickly left. She didnât care if Ethan would be suspicious or anything.
All she cared about was that her son was at the airport, and she must pick him up.
Ethan put his phone down and turned to Caleb. He said, âI want you to find out the list of passengers
who landed at the airport at three. Every single name. And then find out which one among them is
related to Alice.â
âYes, sir.â Heâs still suspecting the madam. He wants to find out the real reason she showed up. It was
his job, and he would do as he was told.
