Chapter 233 - The Office Is a Place to Work, Not for You to Show Affection

Early the next morning, Mu Siyin was awakened by the sound of the alarm clock.

Today was Monday, so she had to go to work.

When she opened her eyes, she realized that she was wrapped in Shi Beiyu’s embrace.

Stunned, she turned around only to see that Shi Beiyu was also woken up by the alarm as his eyes were slightly opened.

Seeing Mu Siyin turning around to look at him, he could not help but smirk and said in a hoarse voice, “Good morning.”

Mu Siyin pinched his handsome face and asked, “What time did you work till last night?”

Shu Beiyu paused for a short while before laughing softly. “Why? Can’t sleep alone?”

Mu Siyin’s cheeks blushed as she pouted. “Of course not! I’m just asking.”

Shi Beiyu replied with a soft voice, “11 p.m. It wasn’t too late.”

Mu Siyin was afraid that Shi Beiyu would notice her blushing. Hence, she hurriedly got up and said, “It’s time to get up. We have to go to work today.”

If this were before, Shi Beiyu would have grabbed her and snuggle in with her for a while longer. However, he was rather earnest today. He got up right after Mu Siyin finished speaking.

“Right, I will send you off.”

After breakfast, Shi Beiyu sent Mu Siyin to the company. As soon as she arrived at the design department’s front desk, she saw Director Wang reproaching Little Rui. “Look at how these flowers have wilted. Why are they still here? It’s affecting our jewelry design department’s reputation! Get rid of them immediately!”

Those flowers were the bouquet that Mu Siyin had received the night before the Double Seventh Festival.

It had only been three days since then. Besides, these were premium roses that had only just started to blossom. How could it be wilted?

The roses looked particularly beautiful and captivating at the front desk, yet Director Wang wanted to get rid of them. Little Rui was reluctant.

“Director, these roses can still be kept for another two days. We’ll throw them away after that.”

Director Wang became unhappier when she heard that. “Keep? Aren’t these just a few wilted roses? Doesn’t the company have enough plants that need to be taken care of?”

Little Rui replied, “But these flowers were a gift from Siyin’s boyfriend. She asked me to take good care of them for her. If she finds out that I have thrown them away, she will be angry.”

Director Wang was already unhappy because of the shopping encounter she had with Mu Siyin on Sunday, so seeing the flowers really irritated her. All she wanted was to get rid of them.

To top it off, Little Rui’s reluctance to throw the flowers away and her mentioning that the flowers belonged to Mu Siyin only made Director Wang even angrier.

“Is she the director, or I am? Just do as I say. Why are you giving me so much nonsense?”

Noticing that Director Wang was angry, Little Rui did not dare to say more. Instead, she replied, “Yes, Director. I understand. I will throw the flowers away in a while.”

“What do you mean by in a while? Throw them away now!”

Mu Siyin, who was watching this scene by the door, was speechless.

She did not care about the flowers since she did not know who the mysterious sender was. However, now that Director Wang was insistent on throwing the flowers away, Mu Siyin could not let her do as she wished!
