Chapter 133
The Beginning Of All Sins
It was getting late, so Claude said, âLetâs go. Iâll give you a ride home.â
Olivia hesitated due to the late hour, but after considering, she nodded. âOkay, thanks.â
As they prepared to leave, a car pulled up beside them. They glanced up to see it was Tylerâs car.
The window rolled down, revealing Tyler seated inside, staring at them. âYouâre still here?â
Claude, surprised to see him, smiled brightly. âJust having a chat with Olivia.â
Olivia stood there, quietly looking at Tyler.
After hearing Claudeâs reply, Tyler turned to Olivia. âAre you coming back with Claude or with me?â He went straight to the point.
Olivia felt conflicted, having just agreed to let Claude drive her home. With both men looking at her, she hesitated.
Tyler didnât want to pressure her, so he remained silent, waiting for her decision.
After some consideration, she said, âIâm heading in the same direction as Tyler, so heâll take me home.
You donât need to go out of your way, Claude.â
Claude wasnât upset by her choice and maintained his smile. âAlright then. Letâs stay in touch.â
âSure.â Olivia didnât add anything else and got into Tylerâs car.
Without looking at her, Tyler said to Claude, âWeâll be off then.â
Claude nodded.
Tyler rolled up the window, and Olivia noticed his expression turn cold, sensing the change in atmosphere. She wondered why his expression changed. Was it because of Claude? Or was it something else?
The silence in the car was suffocating.
Olivia remained quiet, sitting as the car moved along.
Suddenly, Tyler glanced at her and asked, âDid Claude purposely go to the university to pick you up and then go to the hospital?â
His question felt like an interrogation, making Oliviaâs heart race. She stammered, âNâ¦No.â
Tyler pressed on. âNo what?â
Feeling she didnât owe an explanation, Olivia stayed silent.
âWhat? You donât want to talk? You seem to be enjoying your chat.â His tone was calm, but it felt accusatory.
Olivia retorted, âEven if something was going on between Claude and me, donât I have the right to make friends? Besides, we just happened to run into each other.â
Tyler kept his eyes on her.
Sensing she might have angered him, Olivia fell silent again. The carâs headlights illuminated her face, making her appear tense and defensive.
There was a hint of anger in Tylerâs eyes. After a long pause, he spoke in a measured tone, âYou should stay away from him. I canât control you, and you have the freedom to make friends, but Claude isnât someone you should be taunting.â
