Chapter 279
The Beginning Of All Sins
Tyler had Linda bring in the food, all of which were Oliviaâs favorites.
âHave some more eggs. Theyâre good for protein,â he suggested.
Olivia, feeling much better after a nap, eagerly started eating as Linda set the food before her.
The room fell silent, everyoneâs eyes on Olivia as she ate. Initially hungry, she soon found it difficult to continue.
Looking up, she saw the three people watching her.
Tyler spoke to Maisy and Ana, his tone indifferent, âSheâs fine now. You both can go.â
Clearly, they were still in a cold war.
âIf you need anything, just call us,â Ana offered.
Tylerâs response was cold. âThe doctors are here for that.â
Ana, dressed in a light, elegant beige, seemed to pale at his words. âOlivia is my daughter -inâlaw, carrying my grandchild. Itâs natural Iâd be concerned,â she stated, marking Oliviaâs place in the family and indirectly commenting on Naomiâs current position.
Olivia clenched her fists, sensing the tension.
Tyler, understanding Anaâs intentions, calmly asked, âSo?â
Olivia felt a tightness in her chest, breathing deeply. She looked down with her lips slightly parted.
Ana scoffed, undeterred by Tylerâs rudeness. âSo, Naomi will never be part of our family.
Not now, not ever.â
With those harsh words, she left with Maisy. Tyler scoffed as well.
Olivia sat in bed, feeling the air was getting thin. She didnât look up, trying her best not to get dragged into the conflict.
Tyler, unconcerned by Anaâs words, turned to Olivia with a softer tone. âWhy arenât you eating? Donât you like the food?â He then offered her some soup. âHere, at least have some soup.â
Olivia knew, despite everything, that Tyler would support Naomi against Anaâs threats, easing her worries. She realized that worrying was pointless.
âNinaâs right. I shouldnât get involved. I just need to focus on the baby and give birth,â she thought, finding comfort in the idea.
Smiling at Tyler, she tightened her grip on the spoon and said, âThanks, Tyler.â
Her thanks sounded distant, like they were strangers.
Tyler, puzzled by her sudden gratitude, asked, âWhy are you thanking me out of nowhere?â
âI can manage on my own, so you donât need to fuss over me,â she responded, only for Tylerâs expression to harden at her words.
âOlivia.â
