Chapter 280
The Beginning Of All Sins
Olivia had to stay in the hospital for one night for observation and went home the next day. Everyone at the Harrises was anxiously waiting for the amniocentesis result.
She noticed Tyler was surprisingly calm during these days. He didnât seem worried and was always by her side.
Three days later, Linda dropped by. She walked into the bedroom where Tyler was busy with paperwork and said, âThe results are out, Mr. Tyler. Itâs all good.â
Hearing this, Tyler stood up. Heâs tall and always looks dignified just by being there. Even though heâs usually quiet, heâs not too serious but comes off as grownâup and graceful.
âEverythingâs fine?â
âMmâhmm.â
Olivia, who was sitting in bed, finally relaxed.
Everything was okay. It really wasâ¦
She closed her eyes, relieved from the weight of her worries.
Tyler, still calm, said, âGood to hear,â then told Linda, âThank you. You can go now.â
Linda looked relaxed too. âAlright, sir.â
After Linda left, he turned to Olivia. âYouâll be up and about soon. You should get out more.
âIâd like to visit my school,â Olivia said.
âOf course,â Tyler replied, ready to make her happy.-
Maisy was the happiest in the household after finding out the result. She showered Olivial with gifts, having them sent over by the maids.
The gifts piling up were fancy, each possibly as costly as a house. But Olivia wasnât thrilled; she felt overwhelmed and wished she could say no.
Tyler tried to cheer her up, âJust accept them. Theyâre from grandma.â
But Olivia had something else on her mind. âIâd like to go home, Tyler.â
His smile vanished at her words. After a moment, he said, âI heard your dadâs been busy. Iâll take you home once heâs back.â
Olivia was doubtful. âDid he go on another business trip?â
Her phone was broken, so she hadnât been in touch with anyone. She had been wanting to call Darren, but she couldnât. She had no idea what he had been up to.
âMmâhmm,â Tyler said, âHeâs away on business.â
Disappointed, she nodded. âAlright, then.â
She actually missed Darren.
What Olivia didnât know was Tyler wanted to keep her away from the Jones family. He thought it unnecessary for her to be in touch with them, hoping to spare her from stress. Sitting by her bed, he looked genuinely concerned. âLetâs go to the movies in two days. What do you think?â
Olivia wasnât interested. She felt it was important not to depend too much on him. Their relationship should be about the baby and nothing more.
âIâd âIâd rather just visit my school, Tyler,â she insisted, shaking her head.
