Love Stories ✓
The days were passing the same way. Day and night changed but she stayed the same, locked in a house away from the population. Her routine was the same everyday. It would be her and the loneliness locked up into the house.
It had been weeks since she had seen a single person except her husband who would lock her inside the cottage when leaving for his job.
"It's better if I lock the door. There is no need for you to go outside. Wherever you want to go, I will take you in the evening. Just wait for me!" He said on the day he first closed the door at her face.
She was shocked at his words. How would she survive into the small space for so long?
She couldn't even go outside near the lake. The locked door hinders between her and the outside world. She would spend her whole day in the house alone. Only a few hours were needed to do house chores, for the rest of the day she either watched TV or read the books he had in his cupboard.
She forced herself to read these books otherwise she had no interest in them. The genre was not of her taste. She was more into romance and fiction, all the books he had were related to history.
She would spend the whole fighting with herself. Her world would change when he entered the house. The clicking of the lock brought life back to her. She would fix her gaze to the door from where he would enter. His eyes would look in the same direction where she always was, waiting for him.
"Hi beautiful!" He would smile at her. The smile was exclusive to her because she was special. So much special to him. His life was changed the moment he took her into his arms. She brought a sense of relief and peace to him. She comforted him like no one could.
On the sofa, a young girl would be waiting for him. She would have a pretty little smile on her face which he would touch with lips a few moments later.
"I missed you" He whispered in her ears. Rubbed his nose on her cheek, felt her delicate skin.
She just smiled back at him lightly.
"Did you miss me?" He asked, push a strand of her back on her ear. The way he spoke it clearly indicated he wanted to hear a positive reply that would tighten his chest for a moment.
"Always" She replied.
"Meri jan!" His eyes twinkled with pride.
(My life)
"I counted minutes to be with you!" He told her, caressed the back of her hand with his thumb.
"Me too" She also didn't lie. She wanted time to pass quickly so that he could come back to her.
After spending some time with her he would leave to change his dress. They used to have dinner today. Then he would take her out at the lake. In the fresh air, she would feel like she was alive again.
A girl like her who loved to spend her time in nature under the open sky was held captive in a small space. It was unfair to her. Just because she wanted to give her marriage a chance, she had to endure what he was doing to her.
Deep in her heart she knew she was doing injustice to herself but right now in the whole world he was the only relation she had. Other than him, she really had no one in her life. Her father hated her. She had nowhere to go and he was the only person who was showing love and care to her.
This man had many layers and she was getting tired of finding a new layer each day. He wasn't as hard as stone but he wasn't as soft as cotton either.
His eyes had something in them. Something she could see but can't name.
"It's going to rain" She told him.
"How can you guess?" He asked.
They were sitting outside near the lake in the evening. He had his arm wrapped around her shoulder. Her head rested against his shoulder. She was in his arms safe and sound.
"I saw it in the news" She said to him, looking at the sky, hoping for rain.
"You want to get soaked in rain?" He questioned.
"No, I don't like rain anymore" She shook her head.
"Why sweetheart?" He asked looking straight into her eyes.
How could she tell him he was the reason she hated rain. Her heart would desire to be in the rain everytime it rained but she couldn't cross the windows of the cottage. Slowly she started despite the rain because she couldn't get access to it.
She shrugged her shoulders silently.
"Would you take me to the city? I need to buy some stuff" She asked politely.
"What do you want? I will get anything for you" He spoke generously.
"No, I want to go myself" She insisted.
"You don't need to go anywhere when I can bring anything at your feet" He said angrily this time.
"Why can't I go anywhere? I am not your captive. Why are you doing this to me?" She started crying.
"Shhh! Stop crying" He held her close, patted her back.
"Don't do this to me" She said sadly against his chest.
"I am not doing anything to you Zohal! I am just trying to protect you. The world outside isn't good. It's full of evil. I don't want to get us hurt. You and me, we are perfect together. We don't need anyone in our world" He lifted her chin and made her look into his eyes.
"I love you. I really love you Zohal! I don't want to lose you. My heart would stop beating if you left me" He looked scar6e.
"Why would I leave you? I love you Zarrar! I can't leave you. Why did you even mention it?" She asked unhappily.
"Forget it. You ain't leaving the house. I will get you what you want. Okay enough of this meaningless conversation just let me have my wife to myself only" He asked with a little smile.
Zohal felt her heart lost in his smile. She just nodded. He held her close and whispered in her ears.
"I always liked rain. I always liked to be in the rain under the dark sky but today I won't be alone" And the water droplets touched the ground. In a few moments, it started raining heavily.
"We should go inside" She said loudly in the sound of rain.
"No, stay with me" Holding her hand in his, he made her stand, pulled her closer to his fast beating heart and rested his lips on her forehead.
"You are my life" She closed her eyes at his words.
She was overwhelmed at the love he was showing to her and at the same time she was depressed and lost.
...
After many weeks, she was out of that dark world. It felt so overwhelming to her when she met different people. She was talking to someone after so many days.
They were invited to a dinner hosted by his father. Zarrar was cold to everyone else. She was scared for a second thinking that he would be rude to her again but the moment he looked at her. His eyes shined and he gave her a small nod. He didn't smile at her in the presence of people.
He didn't leave her hand for a moment. She couldn't go away from him. She was meeting and talking with people only by him on her side all the time.
"Why don't you leave me?" She whispered to him.
"I can't leave you love!" He whispered back.
"Just for a few minutes" She requested.
"No" He turned his attention to the entrance where a woman had just entered, the woman who destroyed him.
