EXCUSE ANY MISTAKES

SUMMER

My vision blurred as my hands covered my mouth. He looked exactly the way I had remembered him to be.

"Hey baby girl" He smiled as he stood from the kitchen table

I looked at him as my feelings were scrambled. I didn't know how to feel about him. I was happy to see my father but part of me was disappointed on the way he left and since I have been here not one day he had called from his business trips to check on me.

Tears began to fall as I took ff to my room.

"Oh my"I heard my Aunt sigh.

I threw myself onto my bed burying my face into the pillow. I loved my father so much. In my previous lifetime he was my support system but here he was nothing close to that.

"Summer" I heard my aunt voice say. I didnt respond. I felt the bed dip and her hand rested on the small of my back as she rubbed it.

"Why didn't he call? For the past weeks, you're the only one I've been seeing, you're the only one who've been checkin up on me, you're the only one who goes to my appointments with me. Where was he?"I cried

My Aunt sighed "Summer baby, I understand your hurt. I know that Your dad missed out on alot of stuff, but he is trying baby girl. The reason why he is not around is because he trying to make a living comfortable enough for you" she pleaded "I agree with you totally with the fact that he doesn't call as frequent as he should and if it hurts you babygirl, you should talk to him about. He wont know how to improve if you don't. Keeping things inside is something that  you always do Summer. You bottle up everything inside instead of talking about it and it wrecks you and the relationship that you have with that particular person. You need to talk to your father baby girl. Yall are all eachother have right now."

I wiped my eyes as I looked at her.

" Your father is really hurt about how you've reacted when you saw him , so I think the time to talk is now. Everything you are feeling, tell him and I promise you that he will try and make it right. We love you summer you mean a lot to us all dear" she said as she held my chin looking at me. I smiled and  I hugged my aunt tightly, she was everything I didn't expected her to be  and everything that I knew that I needed. We grew a special bond.

When we pulled away from the hug, I got up and began to walk to the door "Thank you aunt camille for everything" she smiled and i made my way down the stairs.

I entered the kitchen and saw my dad sitting there with his head in his hands. I waked and sat on the seat next to him making him look up

"Summer I'm so sorry"he began as his eyes landed on me "About everything, I--" I cut him off by hugging him tightly

"I understand daddy" i whispered softly. As i hugged i didn't  realise how much i missed him. "I love you dad"

"I love you too Summ"

27th September, 2019

(AT SCHOOL)

SUMMER

"Ok so just put a small portion of the  Sodium Hydroxide salt into the solution" I told Trina as I read the instructions from the lab manual. The girls and I were in chemistry class doing a laboratory exercise. Trina was about to add the salt when I stopped her. "Wait add the least amount as possible cause this shit will over flow ok"

Trina rolled her eyes in annoyance "Bitch let me do my thang"

I put up my hand in surrender as she resumed to it.

"So guys, i'm thinking about trying out for the cheerleading team and I want yall to try out with me" Jhene blurted out making Trina empty the whole test tube of salt into the solution causing  it bubble and overflow.

"Fuck" Trina muttered  as she scrambled looking for the lab technician

(A few minutes later)

"Ok girls, you guys will have to do it over" the technician instructed and we nodded before he turned on his heels and left.

We both turned and look at Jhene.

"What?" she smiled innocently

"My answer is no before you ask again."  Trina stated sternly as she measured the solution for the second time "Yall know that I dont fuck with that cheer shit"

"I dont mind but i dont know how to cheer. Why do you wanna cheer anyway, You never-"I stopped as i caught on and smiled widely at Jhene.

"Stop smiling like that Summer you look like a creep."

"You just wanna cheer so that you can be closer to Dante " i squealed

"Noooo" she dragged out

"Bitch please, we're attending this school for plus years now and not one semester you wanted to cheerlead , and now you do?  We weren't born yesterday jhene."Trina retorted

"Will ya'll just do it with me?!" she begged

"Not until you tell us why you wanna do it."

"I'm not doing it because of him. I'm doing it because umm....I like dancing"

"Wooww Jay you got this nigga trappin you girl, right hand on the bible you gon lie for that nigga" Trina added

"I don't know what yall are talking about"

"Well in that case, i dont even know what cheerleading is. Summer do u?" Trina asked me and I played along

"Nah Tri I dont think I do.  Oh well guess you're on your own jay."

"Oh come on guys. Fine I just wanna spend more time with Dante since he plays football for the school."she admitted  lowly making Trina and I smile

"Fine ill give it a try" i agreed

"I wont"Trina still disagreed

"Come on Trinaaa"Jhene begged her

"Jhene you know how i feel about cheerleading. It's just girls in short skirts and dancing like hoes."She stated "Besides  Imma hoe without doing allat shit so Imma pass" Trina joked making me laugh.

This girl was crazy

"Trina come on I thought you were my girl" Jhene begged as she began doing the puppy dog face

"Not the face Jayyyyy" Trina dragged out before rolling her eyes "Fine lets do this shit"

"Yay so tryouts is in two weeks on Friday, so we got two weeks to practice a routine."

I nodded "good cause I cant cheer"

"Neither can i" Jhene beemed

Trina shook her head laughing "It gon be  like the blind leading the blind with this shit"

"You're such a dark cloud" Jhene pinched Trina's arm, before looking at me "So Summ i saw that Mr Reese is back home"

"No way your dad came back?" Trina asked

"Yeah he did"

"You must've be really happy to see him "Trina said

I began to think back to last night and everything that had happened. My father and I spent last night talking out our difference, it was like we were getting to know eachother all over again, like a recreation of our bond. "actually I was. I was really happy to see him".

NEXT DAY

28th September,2019 (Saturday)

RASHAD

"Three, two, one lets go"Jhene shouted as the girls began their routine.

Trey and I came with the girls in the park for them to practice their routines because apparently they gon be trying out for the cheer team.

"This shit dont sit well with me Rah." Trey began as he kept his eyes on the girls "My baby trina got ah fat ass and Imma trip just thinking about her throwing that shit back for a whole damn crowd and foot ball team mane"

I rubbed my hand over my face "I feel you, but we gotta rock back and give them space. Just so you know if anything play out, we gon be bussin some hot ones in somebody" I smirke as we dapped eachother up.

"Fashoo"   Trey agreed while laughing

"Jhene yo ass so freakin heavy"Trina shouted as her and Summer held jhene up in the air

"Quit whining Im the lightest between ya'll two big booty hoes"Jhene responded before she straightened out her arms in the star position and shouted "Little booties matter!!" before Summer and Trina threw her up in the air and caught her.

Trey and I bust into laughter as we looked at the girls. Couldnt ask for anything better than the three musketeers.

30th September,2019

TRINA

"Ok Trina, today maybe a little challenging but we are gonna get through it as we did before with all the other sessions ok."My therapist said. Today I had an appointment so Trey and I were here. "I just need you to continue opening up" i nodded as i held onto trey's hand.

She nodded before clasping her hands together and looking between trey and i. "So your mom was a drug addict and she used to be with numerous men right?"and i nodded in response

"Ok so"she began"my question to you today Trina is, have you ever been sexually assaulted by anyone of them since you lived with your mom? or by anyone in your life?"my heart stopped as my mouth opened to answer but nothing came out.

"Trina it's ok you can talk"she reached over for my free hand which was on the desk. I felt trey's eyes burning a hole at the side of my face as I kept my eyes looking forward. i looked down as i closed my eyes replaying everything in my mind causing tears to roll down my cheeks.

"Yes" i whispered

"What happened?"she asked

I could've tell that This was not going to be a good end for me and Trey. "It all started when I was 13 years old"

(AFTER SESSION)

Since we left the the therapy session, Trey hadnt said a word to me. I knew that he was upset. We pulled up infront of the house and we fell in silence.

"Trey listen-"

"How can you keep sumn like that from Trina"he looked at me and all I saw was hurt and anger

"I'm sorry, i didnt want to-"

"Bullshit Trina. Im yo nigga im supposed to protect yo ass and you got assaulted and aint tell a nigga shit!" he shouted in anger "Im yo fucking man, if we had never went that fucking therapy you wouldnt have told me shit. Same way I wouldnt have know your moms was beating on you till the girl saw your face fucked up" he spat with venom

I bit down on my lips as I tried to keep back my tears "Trey please youre right i shouldve said something but-"

"I'll meet you home"he cut me off and i looked at him

"You're not coming in now with me'

He shook his head "ill be home later"

"Trey please i-"

"Leave trina" he said sternly

I nodded as i slowly came out the car. He drove off leaving me standing there.
