Chapter 34
Girl Next Door ✔️
"So...You really liked Bethany or were you using her?" I couldn't help but ask, after a pregnant silence.
Cole looked at me, hesitantly.
"I liked her. A lot." He answered me.
He's lying. There is something more to the story.
I was about to---
"Cole, I'm scared." I heard Mason mutter from the back seat.
I think watching that film scared Mason.
"Don't be," I said, turning to look at him.
Mason rubbed his eyes as he sat straight, before yawning.
He is so freaking cute.
"You're still here Xandra, are you going to stay with me tonight?" He asked me.
"I wish I could," I said, smiling at him.
"Why are we all still in the car then?" Mason asked, before adding, "Are we all going to stay here for the night?"
"Of course not. We were just going to wake you up. Anyways, Bye Mason. See you tomorrow." I said, as I opened the gate and stepped out of Cole's car.
Cole just stared at me, dumbfounded.
I was about to tell him my story, but I've changed my mind.
If he isn't being truthful, why should I keep my promise?
I sighed as I made my way to my house.
I didn't turn back to see if Cole left or not.

One week.
It's been a week since I last talked to Antony properly.
Well, you aren't even talking properly to Cole.
I sighed. I don't even know why I'm ignoring these two.
Maybe because my whole mood got spoiled when I found out that Tyler wasn't coming to meet me.
Tyler had some 'important work' to do, so he promised me that he would meet me the next weekend.
I made my way towards my locker, I had to take some extra books for the next class.
After taking out all the books I needed, I closed my locker.
I jumped when I saw Antony standing right behind me.
He raised an eyebrow at my actions.
"Do you need anything?" I asked him, as I stared up at him.
He was obviously taller than me. His was a little shorter than Cole, though.
"Nothing. I thought I should give you a check-up, just in case you were scared or something." He said as he shrugged his shoulders.
He smirked at me. But his expression changed when I smirked back at him.
"Oh, really? I was about to check up on you as well. Great minds think alike." I said, and he raised his eyebrows.
"Why would you check up on me?" He asked, more to himself.
"Just in case your nose needed a plaster," I said as I started walking away from him.
"You know babydo--" He started but I cut him off.
"Don't. Call. Me. That." I coldly said as I increased my walking speed.
Antony didn't follow me any further.
Thank God.
I spotted Bethany standing beside Kylie, on the way, as I made my way towards my class.
Bethany had her stare on me.
I rolled my eyes at her, before entering the classroom.

My stomach groaned in hunger.
As I was walking towards the cafeteria, I bumped into someone, causing me to almost fall on the floor, but I balanced myself.
"Wat--" I started, but was cut off by Bethany.
"You were the one who wasn't watching. Don't blame me." Bethany snapped at me.
"Blind bitch." Kylie snarled as she stood beside Bethany.
I just stared at them for a minute, before stepping aside.
I started walking towards the cafeteria.
I was in no mood to fight with them, I am hungry for crying out loud.
"Ooh, so the slut's gonna ignore us." I heard Kylie say.
I stopped walking, as I turned back and faced her.
"Are you...talking about yourself?" I asked her.
"You're the slut here." She said, glaring at me.
"So, you're telling me that, after you stick up with every guy you get, I am the slut?" I asked her.
"At least she knows not to stick up with other girl's man," Bethany said, causing me to raise my eyebrows at her.
"At least I don't use three guys at once," I said, staring at Bethany's blue eyes.
Her eyes widened for a fraction of time before they became normal.
She must be thinking about how I know about the love triangle, or square between her, Cole, Christian, and James.
"Little knowledge is a dangerous thing." She said, with a smirk on her face.
"Thinking that you're the smartest person in the room, when clearly you aren't, is an even more dangerous thing." I pointed out.
She stared at me for a minute, before saying, "Don't act smart when you don't know the whole story."
"But I know that you're the reason why Christian isn't alive. And also the reason why James is a psychopath." I said, staring at her.
"Christian died because of his, Cole's and James fault. As for James, he is a psychopath because of you, not me." She said, before giving me a sinister smirk.
"James, Cole, and Christian like--" Bethany cut me off.
"You're highly mistaken. Nobody liked me. They were all using me." She said, staring at me, as I did the same.
"What? But Col--" She cut me off, again.
"Everything they did for me was just a bet." She said, before walking off with Kylie following her behind.
Which bet is she talking about?
"Hey, Xandra!" I spotted Jessica waving at me, from the table, as soon as I entered the cafeteria.
After taking my lunch tray, I sat between Cole and Ryder on the table.
Ryder was exceptionally happy today.
"Xandra, Xandra, Xandra." He said, as soon as I sat down.
"Can anyone tell me, why is he so happy?" I asked to no one particular.
"Beca--" Jessica started but Blake cut him off.
"Because he didn't fail in his maths test."
"So...You're telling me that he scored the top mo--" I was cut off by Blake again.
God, people seem to cut me off a lot.
"No, he passed by a mark," Blake said, rolling his eyes.
"Then why the fuck is he so happy about it?" I asked, staring at Ryder.
"I passed because of you Xandra, I usually failed, even Mr. Harts was surprised." He said, and I simply smirked at him.
"You're welcome," I said as I started eating.
"I need your help again, Xandra. I have a chem--" Ryder started again, but this time, I cut him off.
"I'm busy today," I said, munching my slice of pizza.
"Busy with what?" He asked me.
"She has plans with Mason today after school," Cole answered from my behalf.
"But I am your best friend Xandra. Who is more important? Me or Mason?" He asked me.
I stopped chewing, as I turned to face him.
"Of course it's you," I said, and Ryder's face lit up, but I added, " who isn't important."
Ryder made a face while Cole chuckled at him.
"What are your plans with Mason, by the way?" Jessica asked me.
"Baking," I said, smiling at her.
"Count me in then." She said, causing me to raise my eyebrows at her.
"You love baking too?" I asked her.
"Nah, I'll be the one tasting it." She said, shrugging her shoulders.
I rolled my eyes.
"I'm in too," Brody said.
"Me too," Blake said.
"Why should I be left out then? Count me in as well." Cole said.
Chase and Sam were also coming to my house.
"Me too," Ryder said, causing me to raise my eyebrows.
"Didn't you have a test?" I asked him.
"I'll bring my books too." He said, after thinking for some time.
I rolled my eyes.
"Okay."
A/N,
That's it for this week.
