Mates 159
Rejected Mate's Redemption (Freda and James)
Chapter 159
KAIDEN STIRLING
I became ravaged by emotions and felt devastated hearing what Dane said.
âWhat do you mean by the Werewolf Council canât be stopped when theyâve started hearing!. You are joking, right?â I furiously asked Dane, looking at his face expecting him to miraculously tell me it wasnât true.
âNo, I am not joking, Kaidenâ Dane replied with no hint of joke on his face.
*S**t!â I furrowed my brows, although I was expecting this. I couldnât bring myself to believe that the hearing would go on especially with Freda being like this.
âAt least, there should be an exception for complicated reasons. What do you think Dane?â Thinking of this gave me a little glimmer of hope but seeing the countenance on Daneâs face it slowly faded away.
âSadly, there is no exceptionâ Dane regretfully said.
âI donât think so, how can that be?â I disdainfully disagreed with
him.
âOkay, let me show youâ He took his phone and started searching for something and he looked so confident.
âLook at it, stated right hereâ Dane showed me his phone and

clicked on a document with the werewolf constitution boldly written on it. I started to wonder what would happen if what he said was true. He scrolled up for a while before finally stopping then he pointed at a particular spot and began reading it.
According to Section 15, Subsection 7 of our Werewolf Councilâs Constitution, âOnce a hearing has commenced, the Council shall continue to hear the matter until a decision is reached, without regard to any circumstances that may arise and irrespective of the parties involved. This means that having started the hearing process, the Council is obligated to see it through to its conclusion and cannot unilaterally stop or terminate the hearing regardless of the complexity of any issue or external factors. To do so would be a violation of our constitutional provisions and potentially undermine the integrity of our decision-making process.â He shrugged after reading it looking at my ghostly expression.â
I felt like exploding. What he just read was like a dynamite and it sc**ed every part of me. I found it hard to comprehend.
âWho even wrote this nonsense of a thing?â I ranted angrily.
âKaiden, I think you should try to calm down,â Dane said trying to reduce my anger.
âAnd how would I do that?â I stomped the floor hard with my foot. âThey are so unbelievable. How can they be this wicked and so cruel?, What were they thinking when they were writing it!?â I yelled and that caused some passer-by to glance at me strangely. I ruffled my hair with annoyance.
âSo let us figure out something, like another way to go about this.â Dane gently suggested looking at my face.

âIf she would have to continue going for hearing then we need to truly come up with another plan that would be efficientâ I admitted and tried to calm down so I could think of a way to help her and stop everything from becoming worse.
âNot possibleâ Dane mumbled under his breath.
âWhat do you mean by not possibleâ I angrily asked him, it seemed like he didnât want me to hear what he said.
âI thought of you going to personally speak to the head of the council and realized it wouldnât work.
Thatâs why I mumbled that. I didnât mean anythingâ Dane said.
âOhh, I get you now,â I said after understanding why he mumbled what he said.
I really wanted to make things easier for her and I couldnât wait to see her happy. With her condition worsened she canât be going for hearing. How did I get this so wrong to lead us right here?
âSince we canât stop the hearing regardless of any circumstance then we have to find evidence to prove her innocence to the council. The faster we gather any evidence we find, the faster the hearing stops and the better Freda will be. So letâs quickly get to itâ I looked at Dane with a new profound hope in me, feeling like a phone that hadnât been charged in a long time.
âNice idea, but where do we start the gathering of evidence?â Dane asked me.
âThe main culprit is Safiya, she planned everything and blamed Fredaâ I gritted my teeth.

âMaybe we should start from her but how?â Dane pondered.
âGetting evidence from Safiya would be somehow hard and it might take time,â I said.
âThatâs true, if only we were there to witness the event and know what really happenedâ Dane sighed
âYeah, and we werenât present at the council meeting that day so we donât know exactly what happened to herâ
âWait!, Why donât we ask Freda and Lyra about what happened? Maybe that would give us cluesâ
Dane said eagerly.
âYou are right, we can also check the CCTV camera to find out about the incident and ask every single person we see there during that timeâ I concluded.
âWell, letâs startâ
