Chapter 15

12: Second Full Moon

Her Wolf [Teen Wolf]

Sky runs onto the lacrosse field after changing to see Scott and Stiles talking, Scott seeming even more not himself.

He had been made co-captain of the team yet she still couldn't see any type of happiness in his expression. He should of been grinning at her in excitement by now as this is exactly what he had been working for. But nothing.

Stiles was next to him, getting ready to practice his new position in first line. Sky had no idea how that had happened.

Coach claps as he shouts to Scott from the sidelines, "All right, you're up, big boy. Let's go! That's it, McCall! That's the spirit! You earn it! Earn it, McCall!"

Scotts aggression became apparent as soon as he starting charging into anyone who came at him with unnecessary strength. Even when it comes to Danny's turn - and everyone loved Danny - Scott still lets his anger control him as he collides with the boy using brutal force, causing him to hit the ground in pain.

Players rush up to help him, "Danny! Oh, man, Danny!" one of them shouts.

Another player, who was on Scott's team, came up to Scott's defence, "We didn't hit him that hard."

"Danny, are you okay?"

Stiles stares at Scott in disbelief, "Dude, what the hell are you doing?"

"He's twice the size of me," retorts Scott.

Sky scoffs, "Stop being a douche," she hisses. He growls at her in frustration, making her scowl back.

Stiles frowns in disappointment, "But everybody likes Danny. Even Sky. Now everybody's gonna hate you," he points out.

Scott shrugs, "I don't care. "

"Is he okay?" asks Lydia from her seat next to Ariel, who gotten out of class early, looking worriedly at Danny.

Jackson nods from where he was stood in front of them, "It looks like he just has a bloody nose. . ." he trails off as he looks at her, noticing something.

"What?" Lydia asks as she notices his stare. Ariel looks at her, biting her lip in amusement when she sees what Jackson did. She didn't condone cheating, but Jackson and Lydia's relationship was something she'd never understand.

"Your lipstick," he points out.

Lydia lifts her hand to her mouth, feigning surprise as she wipes her smudged lipgloss, "Oh. I wonder how that happened."

Jackson scoffs and shakes his head, "Yeah. I wonder."

"She tripped onto someone else's mouth," Ariel murmurs with a grin, too quietly for Jackson to hear.

Lydia elbows her sister as she glances to her, "You're unusually happy today," she notes, ignoring her comment.

"I'm a happy person," Ariel retorts.

Lydia snorts, "Right. Or you've been with your angry puppy of a girlfriend."

Ariel pointedly looks away as she feels her cheeks warm, "Shut up," she grumbles.

Later that night, Sky is curled up on her bed when she hears Stiles talking to her mom. She listens to his footsteps as he makes his way up the stairs and pushes herself up with a groan. She was really starting to feel the effects of the full moon now and she didn't realise she would struggle this much without Ariel with her, but she had to get through it without her as it wasn't part of the 'plan'.

Sky makes her way to her doorway, leaning on the wall as Stiles comes toward her.

"I can feel it," she groans, feeling herself sweat, her breath coming out in pants.

Stiles's eyes widen in alarm as he pushes her into her room. He sits her on the floor, places the bag he had with him down and opens it to pull out a set of chains. He carefully wraps her wrists with them, before tightening them and attaching the other end to the pipe that was connected to her radiator.

He blew out a breath of relief that he had gotten there in time as he sees her eyes starting to glow.

"Where's Scott?" he asks.

Sky squeezes her eyes closed as she listens out for her brothers heart beat, "His bedroom," she grits out, curling up into a ball as the effects get worse.

Stiles hesitates as he stands up, "I don't wanna leave you Sky, but I gotta get Scott too."

"Just. Go," she growls out, resisting the urge to lunge at him.

She could barely make out the sounds of him leaving as all the noise overwhelms her. She could hear her moms footsteps leaving the house, the rattle of her chains ringing in her ears, the TV the neighbours were watching, the tree's rustling outside her window and the pounding of her own heartbeat. She felt like she was drowning.

The sound of Stiles's heart thumping makes her focus for a second, hearing him ramble, "Oh, my God! Dude. You scared the hell out of me. Your mom said you weren't home yet but Sky said you were here and now you're just sat there all creepy --"

Scott's low voice cuts him off, "I came in through the window."

"Okay. Uh, well, let's get this set up. I want you to see what I bought," says Stiles, putting his bag down.

Scott shakes his head, "I'm fine. I'm just gonna lock the door and go to bed early tonight," he says.

Stiles raises his brows at him, "You sure about that? 'Cause you've got this kind of serial killer look going on in your eyes, and I'm hoping it's the full moon taking effect, 'cause it's really starting to freak me out," he tells him.

Scott clenches his jaw, "I'm fine. You should go now. "

Stiles sighs, "All right, I'll leave. Well, look, would you just at least look in the bag and see what I bought? You know, maybe you use it, maybe you don't. It seems to be working for Sky. She's dealing. Sound good?" he reasons.

"You think I'm gonna let you put these on and chain me up like a dog like you did to Sky?" Scott scoffs. He tilts his head, almost smirking, "Although, I'm not surprised she needed to be chained up like one --"

Stiles frowns, "Actually, no," he says. He lunges forward and quickly handcuffs Scott to his radiator.

Scott growls, "What the hell are you doing?"

Stiles stares at him, his voice coming out angry and sad at the same time, "Protecting you from yourself and giving you some payback -- For making out with Lydia," he pauses. "And never talk about Sky like that again," he tells Scott.

Scott's pleas to Stiles fill Sky's ears as she tries to keep herself in control. Stiles made sure to keep ignoring him while coming to check on Sky, leaving her a bottle of water. But she couldn't hold it back anymore.

Her eyes had already been glowing, but now she could feel her teeth become sharper and her grunts turned into growls as she tenses and flinches.

She fumbles for her phone as panic starts to overcome her, trying not to scratch the screen with her claws as she calls the person she needs the most right now.

It picks up after two rings, "Hello? Sky?"

Skys breath comes out heavily as she tries to get her words out. "Ariel," she breathes. "I just need -- I need to hear your voice," she half growls out.

She could hear Ariel suck in a sharp breath on the other end of the phone, "What about your plan? To learn control by yourself?"

"Not working," Sky hisses out. "I do need you."

"I think your wrong, Sky," says Ariel. "And I think you just have to believe you can do it."

"But --"

"No buts!" Ariel cuts her off sharply. Sky could practically hear her bossy frown through the phone and finds her lips twitching up in amusement, distracting her from her struggle, "I know you're capable of controlling yourself, Sky, so if I find out you've mauled your brother tomorrow, I'll ban you from . . . me," she pauses. "All week," she adds.

Sky finds herself coming back to normal as she scoffs in disbelief, "You couldn't stay away from me for a week."

"Is that a challenge, Skylar?"

Sky pauses, "No!" she blurts out.

Ariels amusement filled voice fills her ears, "That's what I thought. Feeling better?" she asks.

Sky looks down at her hand, seeing her nails back to normal, "Yeah," she says in surprise.

"Do you need me to stay on the line with you?"

Sky swallows, "Uh, no, I think I'm okay. You get back to whatever you were doing -- "

"Worrying. About you."

"Yeah. That," she cringes. "Well, maybe try doing something a little less stress-inducing," Sky suggests.

"Being with you is going to give me grey hairs," Ariel mutters.

Sky frowns, thoughtful, "Usually, I would be offended. But given what I am, I'll let that slide."

"How nice of you," Ariel drawls.

"Yep," says Sky. "I'll see you soon?"

"See you soon."

Sky bites her lip, "Wait!"

Ariel chuckles, "What?" she asks.

"Love you," rushes out Sky, hanging up the phone quickly and throwing it onto her bed with grin.

"Stiles?" she calls out, looking at her door where she hears the sound of his heart beat in the hallway. She could still feel the pull of the moon but knows she'll able to resist changing now.

The boy slowly opens the door, peeking his head in and sighing in relief when he sees she's not wolfing out.

"I'm in control now," assures Sky.

Stiles hesitates as he steps into her room, "You sure? I'm not in the mood to deal with another moody wolf right now."

Sky chuckles, rolling her eyes. "I'm sure."

He moves over and unlocks her chains, letting her free her hands. She rubs her wrists and looks at Stiles as he puts them back into his bag,

"Hey, Stiles?"

He glances at her, "Yeah?"

Sky looks at him for a moment, for once forcing away her sarcastic comments and scowls for her pseudo brother,  "Thank you. For everything."

Stiles smiles slightly, "No problem," he replies.

She goes to say something else when they hear Scotts angered cries followed by a crash in his room. They rush next door and swing the door open, only to see broken handcuffs and no sign of Scott, apart from an open window showing where he escaped .

Sky sighs, looking to Stiles. "We better go save his ass, huh?"

Stiles nods back, "As usual. We're so underappreciated," he grumbles as they make their way to his jeep.

With Sky following his scent, they eventually make it to the car park where she finds Scott being held back by Derek Hale.

Sky holds her arm in front of Stiles, "Stay here. I don't want you getting mauled," she says, scrambling out of the car and over to her brother.

"Scott!" she calls, making the two look at her.

Scott breathes heavily as he looks back at Derek, "What's happening to me?" he asks.

Derek's stoic as he answers, "Exactly what he wants to happen."

Scott shakes his head, "Thanks. Wait. I can't do this. I can't be this and be with Allison. I need you to tell me the truth. Is there a cure?" he asks.

Sky perks up at that, although she was seriously doubtful there was something that could change them back now.

Derek raises his eyebrows at the question, "For someone who's bitten? I've heard of one. I don't know if it's true."

"Well, what is it?" Sky asks, impatiently.

Derek looks between them, "You have to kill the one that bit you."

Sky was skeptical. How could killing someone stop you from being a werewolf? She could see Scott seemed to believe him more though.

"Kill the Alpha?" he clarifies.

"Scott. Sky. If you help me find him. I'll help you kill him. Whichever one of you wants it," offers Derek.

There's a pause before Sky speaks up, "Right, well it's kind-of-maybe-not-really nice to see you, Hale. However, " She grabs Scott by the arm and starts to pull him away. "We really must be going."

Derek just glares at her, unimpressed.

"Okay, dickwolf," murmurs Sky, rolling her eyes. He obviously wasn't going to be friendly with her.

Instead, she looks at her brother firmly, "Home, Scott. Now."
