Chapter 48

The next day, Can and Emre woke up with a little hangover, but remembered everything from the night before. Miriban and Aziz were over joyed with the engagement . They were still dancing around and singing, they boys love to see them like that so happy and so in love after all those years together.

AZIZ: "boys, how are you feeling today?"

CAN: " Actually not bad, pretty good for a night of partying."

EMRE: "yeah, I feel pretty good actually, maybe it was all that dancing we did, it helped with the alcohol consumption." Can starts laughing and grabs Emre and starts play fighting with him.

CAN: "that was probably it brother."

MIRIBAN: "okay boys, let's start getting everything ready. And then Can you can go pick them up."

Can's phone rings and it's Metin.

CAN: "hey brother, how are you, did you have a good time last night, did it give you any ideas with Derin?"

METIN: "Actually, we had a great time, what a great bunch of people, very welcoming, and yes it definitely gave some ideas for Derin."

CAN: "good I'm glad it's going well."

METIN: " listen Can, you need to look at entertainment page on line there's something about you and Sanem on there."

CAN: "is it bad, what is it?"

METIN: " just go on line." And that's what he did.

A CINDERELLA STORY

Turkeys most handsome eligible bachelor got engaged to a young up coming author from the Mahalle. Sanem Aydin! From rags to riches, this little Mahalle girl snagged Can Divit, a world famous photographer. Was it love at first sight? Hopefully we can snag them for an interview.  How a poor girl hooked up with a Turkey's most eligible bachelor.

CAN:  "Can was pissed, who the hell, who knew about this, they even have a picture of us together. Metin this can go either way. They might even trash Sanem, this isn't good."

METIN: I know Can, listen I'm already on it, I'll try to find out, who did this.  Don't worry."

AZIZ: "son, listen, don't worry about this, but you do have to talk to Sanem, make her understand, that she shouldn't believe the stuff the paparazzi put out, go to her now and explain everything to her."

Can headed to Sanem's to pick her up and talk to her.

Sanem opened the door and gave Can this huge smile, that can brighten anyone's day.

SANEM: "hi my love, come in we're almost ready."

CAN: hey princess, I missed you." He hugs her and kisses her. "Do you think we can talk for a couple of minutes."

SANEM: "Can, is everything okay, what's wrong.?"

Can took her by the hand, and took her out into garden.

SANEM: "Can, you're scaring me, please tell me what's going on."

CAN: there seems to be a wright up about us in the entertainment page." He went on and told her everything and showed it to her. She looks at Can and smiles, scratches his beard and says

SANEM: "who do you think did this?

CAN: "I wish I knew, Metin is working on finding out."

SANEM: "Can, don't worry, I will be fine. I love you too much to let something like this get to me. We will deal with it together, plus it's the truth, I am from the Mahalle, and I'm not embarrassed. I'm proud of where I came from."

CAN: "I just don't want you to get hurt, because people can be cruel with their comments, for me I don't care, they can say whatever they want. But I don't want anyone to hurt you."

SANEM; " Can, listen, I will be fine, remember were I grew up even though the neighborhood can be warm and inviting, we still have to deal with cruelty, I'm stronger than you think. Together we will beat this, okay, and if we need to make a statement to show them how much we love each other, then we will, (she starts giggling) and you know there right, I did grab Turkeys most handsome bachelor, and I'm damn proud of my self."

Can looked at Sanem and was so proud of her, he cupped her face and brought it closer to his face and kissed her.

CAN: " Sanem Aydin, I think you give me more strength than I give you."

SANEM: "we give each other strength we feed of each other remember." He nodded and kissed her " so let's pack up the truck because aunt Mevcabi made a feast fit for a king."

Can and Sanem were enjoying the day with their families, and Osman and Ahan. They decided not to look at the comments on the entertainment page , at least for today.

The families decided on a wedding date, the week after Sanem's graduation, in five months.

SANEM: "Can, in five months we will be married do you believe it."

CAN: "I can't wait my love, if I could I would marry you tonight." He hugs her and kisses her.

SANEM: "remember Can you invited the whole neighborhood to the reception"

CAN: "I remember, and I know it's going to be great.  I had a great time last night."

The rest of the evening went well, they made their plans for wedding and enjoyed a quiet day with their families.  Sanem noticed that Can was somewhere else not paying attention. She went over to him and hugged him from behind, he brings her to the front and kisses her.

SANEM; "Can, are you okay, you seem far away, what are you thinking.  I hope you're not worried about that entertainment page, because I'm not."

CAN: "I just don't want you to get hurt, I love you to much to see you hurt by people's words."

SANEM: "Can, I don't care what they say, we're together because we love each other, and if we have to prove it then we will.  Let's just see what happens.  I'm just curious about one thing, how did they know we would be in the neighborhood and getting engaged, do you think we were followed" Can looked at her, because he was thinking the same thing.

CAN: "that's what I thought also, because no one outside of the family and closest friends knew because I wanted to surprise you."

SANEM: "and you did my love, listen, let's just take things as they come okay.  That's all we can really do."

They both agreed, tomorrow is another day hopefully a good one.

The next morning Sanem was making breakfast in the main house, and Can sneaks up behind her and hugs her and kisses her cheek.

CAN: " good morning bebek,"

SANEM: "good morning my love. Breakfast is ready, are you hungry?" He looks at her with his sly sexy smile and starts tickle kissing her neck. "Can, your parents are coming." She tries to push him but he keeps trying to tickle her, she can't stop laughing.

"Can," he stops and looks at her and gives her a soft kiss and says. "We will continue this tonight" "whatever you say my handsome Turkish bachelor" she starts laughing and starts running from him and he starts chasing after her. Aziz and Miriban are watching them, they're so happy to see them like this. They have been through so much together, they deserve this happiness.

They finished their breakfast and the women were cleaning up.

EMRE: "Can are you busy for lunch, I want to go to the jeweler and buy an engagement ring for Leyla."Can grabs Emre and hugs him.

CAN: that's great brother, I'm so happy for you, of course I will come with you"

AZIZ: "Emre, I'm so happy for you, Leyla is a great girl. You both got very lucky" they both agreed.

SANEM: "Can, I'm going to drop off my second novel I'll be back in a half hour."

CAN: "let me come with you. I don't like the way he looks at you." Sanem turns and looks at Can and smiles

SANEM: "Can, really, Kaan is gentleman, even if he is interested he knows that we are together, plus I don't think he is anywhere near Kerem was, do you agree?"he looks at her and smiles, and kisses her softly on her lips.

CAN: "okay, but if you're not back in a half hour I m coming to get you." She laughed hugged him and agreed

SANEM: "okay my hunky fiancé."

CAN: by the way, we have a new client who is coming in today, senior Fabri, a perfume company. I want you by my side, this will be good experience for you, if we get this account it will very good for us."

SANEM; "okay , see you in a half hour." She left to meet her publisher.

KAAN: Sanem, from what I read so far, this two will be number one in no time! Good Job."

Sanem was smiling she was so happy. And proud of herself.

SANEM: "thank you Kaan, this book 📖 means alot to me. I hope people will read it and it will make them happy."

KAAN: " I'm sure it will." He just looked at her adoringly, Sanem was of course clueless, she was just excited about her new book. "Sanem, how about if we do lunch, we can go over everything if you want."

SANEM: "I'm sorry I can't, we will meet during the week again. I have to get back to work." Kaan was disappointed, but it didn't hurt to try. Can is a very lucky man, but it doesn't hurt to keep trying.

KAAN: "okay then, we will talk soon and I will let you know all the details about the book release."

Sanem left to go back to the agency. She stopped to see CeCe for a couple of minutes.

SANEM: "CeCe what are you doing?" She saw him looking at the entertainment page, and Guliz was standing over him looking at it too. "CeCe don't look at that trash, I'm not even going to bother looking at it."

CECE: " Actually Sanem, the comments aren't that bad, yes there are some nasty ones because people are jealous, but for the most part people are very happy for you, and it seems your book is very popular.  People are mentioning it in the comments, they love it and can't wait for the second one."

SANEM: "really? Wait till the read the next one."

GULIZ: "Sanem, I loved your book, and I'm sure the second one will be just as good."

SANEM: "Thank you guys, I'm going to find Can, see you later."

CECE; " he's in his office with a new employee, Aziz, hired a couple new people because we're busy."

SANEM: " okay, see you soon." Sanem walked into Can's office, and she saw a young girl about her age sitting next to Can while he is explaining things to her.

Can looked up, and gave her the sweetest smile, he got up grabbed her hand and kissed it, and brought her over to his desk and sat on the other side of him. He kept holding her hand.

CAN: Sanem this is are new employee Ela, she will be in our creative writing group. And Ela this is my beautiful fiance Sanem."Sanem put out her hand to shake it, but Ela was hesitant, she kind of gave Sanem a dirty look, but Sanem caught on. Ela gave her hand but quickly took it away."

ELA: "nice to meet you" with a little sarcasm. Sanem just looked at her closely and gave her a look like I'll be watching you.

SANEM: "yes, nice to meet you too!"

Can sent Ela to Derin's  office so he can spend some time with Sanem.

CAN: "well. How did it go with your book, what did Kaan say?"

SANEM: " he loved it, hopefully we will-send it  to the printers this week." And then she went on to tell him what CeCe and Guliz told her about the comments. "You know Can, if someone wanted to hurt us by putting us out there on the entertainment page it backfired on them, there's more good comments than bad." Can smiled and caresses her cheek.

CAN: your right princess, it definitely backfired on them." ( Can is hoping deep down inside that nothing else pops up.  He smells her neck and then kisses it and says) Sanem, I'm so proud of you, we will go out to dinner tonight, just the two of us to celebrate.!" They just stared at each other and smiled, and Ela was looking at them through the glass door from Derins office. Derin doesn't like the look this Ela has on her face.  I have to keep an eye on her.

DERIN:"Ela, look here not at Can and Sanem, Can is your superior, and Sanem is his fiancé, Can is off limits to you, do you understand."

Ela, knew that Derin figured her out, she knows she has to be more careful.

ELA: "yes, miss Derin, I was just admiring them, they're such a handsome couple." Derin just looked at her and smirked, yeh right you can't fool me, she thought to herself. I'm watching you girl.

Can hugs Sanem and kisses her nose, and says  "im going to lunch with Emre, we have some things to get done for the agency, we won't be long."

SANEM: "okay, (scratching his beard ) I'll go to lunch with Leyla, and I will meet you back here, and then we can meet hopefully our new client." He smiles and smells her neck again, and left with Emre.

SANEM: "Leyla let's go to lunch, Can and Emre have some business to attend to."

LEYLA: "yes, he told me, let's get Miriban to go with us."

The three of them went to the little cafe across from the agency. They get along so well, the girls love Miriban, she's their best friend, always knows the right thing to say.

MIRIBAN: " so girls what are we having today, actually I'm thinking comfort food, how about you two?"

SANEM: " Actually I was thinking the same, Leyla?"

LEYLA: " me too comfort food!" Sanem just stared at her sister surprised.

SANEM: "Leyla I'm shocked, no salad?" And they start laughing. "Okay it's my treat, I will go up to the counter to order."

While standing at the counter, she feels someone behind her. And it's Achia, Sanem just ignored her.

ACHIA: "well if it isn't the little Mahalle girl, Cinderella" Sanem just turned and looked at her, but ignored her. "What's the matter, you don't like me calling you that?"

SANEM: "Actually I don't care, because Cinderella turned into a beautiful loving princess and married a handsome prince and they lived happily ever after, and had themselves beautiful children.  And making those children was the best part, because the prince was so damn hot!! And the peasant girls who wanted him stood on the outside looking in!!" Achia was getting angry

ACHIA: "do you think so, you never know, maybe the prince will change his mind, and find someone more to his level." Sanem was composing herself.

SANEM: I highly doubt it, I keep him very satisfied, plus you think you know him but you don't. Anyway I don't have time for you, you're taking up my time with nonsense. Have a nice day!" Angrily Achia says

ACHIA: " we will see who will win in the end!"

SANEM: "well it won't be you, that's for sure!" And she walks away. Achia is fuming, we will see Mahalle girl, we will see.!!
