Chapter 65

After Sanem was done with her table seatings and making her phone calls she decided to take a nap on the lounger, and Ela went to lay down in her bed.

Sanem's cell ring's and wakes her up, she answers but no one is talking, what the heck. Probably a wrong number. She closes her eyes and is half asleep again, she feels a presence like someone is looking at her.

She opens her eyes and sees Fabri standing over her. She sits up quickly.

SANEM: "what the hell are you doing here, get out!!  this is private property."

FABRI: "Sanem, my sweet Sanem I came for you, let's go, you owe me, I want your scent and I'm going to have it. And then I'm going to have you, we can have a beautiful life together."

SANEM: "you're crazy, I'm not going anywhere with you, get out before I call the police!! Now!!"

FABRI: "Sanem, I'm not going anywhere without you, I want you and your scent and I'm going to have both!" He's getting frustrated. He goes to grab her and she smacks his hand away, she gets up from the chair and runs behind the table.

SANEM: "you're crazy, that will never happen, I love Can and we're getting married, you don't know what love is.!" Fabri is looking at her determined to get her.

Meanwhile back at the office Can is having a hard time working, Emre notices him not being able to concentrate.

EMRE: "Can what's wrong, Sanem is home, she's fine, you need to stop worrying."

CAN: "easier said than done, something isn't sitting right with me, maybe it's my imagination, but I have a bad feeling. Maybe it's just everything thats happened that is making me feel this way, I don't know." Aziz entered the office because he also noticed Can was worried.

AZIZ: "Can, take your work home, it's okay, you don't have to be here, tomorrow you and Sanem can come together, go son, it's fine, and we will be home soon."

CAN: "Thank you baba, I will feel much better being with her."

Back at the house

FABRI: "Sanem, come with me, because trust me the people you love the most will pay, I promise you this."Sanem is looking at him, she can't believe this is happening.

SANEM: "I don't believe you, (she looks at him and she is getting very angry) you're all by yourself, your sidekicks are in prison. Now leave or I swear I will call the police!"

Back at the office:

Metin rushes in, "Emre where are Can and Sanem?"

EMRE: "Can went home he was worried about Sanem, why?"

METIN: "I just got a call from my detective, he got a tip from an informant that Fabri was on his way to your home. I just called the police there on their way. We need to go."

EMRE: "Can is probably almost home"on the way out Emre and Aziz tried calling Can but there is no answer.

Leyla tried sanem but no answer.

Ela was awaken by loud voices, "what the heck, what's going on." She looks out her window and sees Fabri with a gun? Threatening sanem, she tries to call Can no answer and then she calls Kaan. "Ela, stay inside, I called the police there on there way, I'm coming, but do not go outside."

ELA: "Kaan, I have to do something, he might kill her,"

She hangs up on him. Ela snuck outside, to the side of the pool house so Fabri won't be able to see her.

Sanem noticed Ela and with her eyes she told her to stay there not to move. Fabri is getting angry.

FABRI: "let's go, I'd rather not kill you, but if I have to I will" he starts chasing her around the table, and he is getting more angrier like a crazy angry. Ela finds a rock and throws it and it hits the side of the house to distract him. And then she runs and jumps on him. Sanem tries to help her, but he knocks out Ela, and he grabs Sanem's hand. The gun accidentally goes off but no one got hurt.

FABRI: "gotcha now you are coming with me, and don't try anything because I will kill you!"

Can pulls up into the drive way and gets out of the car, he hears raised voices, all of a sudden he hears a gun shot. "What the hell, Sanem," he runs towards the back of the house and sees Fabri holding Sanem, okay Can, calm yourself, remember your military training here. Can hides behind a large tree and Sanem notices him, she tries to distract Fabri, but he's getting even more aggressive and agitated. She tries to pull away and he pulls her close and tries to kiss her, she smacks him across the face and spits on him. "Don't you ever try to do that again, do you hear me!!"

FABRI:" don't you ever hit me again, you're going to be mine in every way, and we're going to make millions with that scent of yours." He tries to kiss her again and she smacks him and kicks him in the groin, he lets her go and she runs off, Can sees this and attacks him they both start fighting on the ground hitting each other, Can has the upper hand, he goes to punch him in the face again and the gun goes off. They stop fighting and they both fall back onto the grass, Can has been shot, Sanem runs over to him, Fabri goes to grab her but he was jumped from behind by Emre, Emre knocks him out,  the police get there, and see Fabri knocked out on the ground.  Sanem is kneeling down next to Can, trying to talk to him and keep him awake.

SANEM: "Can, my love Speak to me, please."

The family runs over to Can and Sanem, Can is in and out of consciousness. He looks at Sanem. And caresses her cheek. "It's all over bebek, I love you."

SANEM: "Can, my love, please stay awake, I love you."

There was so much blood she couldn't see where the wound was. Can passed out. Sanem is crying over him.

"Please Can, fight, we have our wedding next week, she's kissing his hand caressing his face. Her tears are falling like a water fall. "Can, Can, please stay with me, open your beautiful eyes." The paramedics got there and started working on Can. He woke up a little and looked at Sanem and smiled. "It's okay, don't worry." "I love you Can." He passes out again. The paramedics put him on the stretcher and took him to the hospital. In the ER the whole family was waiting in the waiting room along with Metin and Sanem's aunt and uncle."

SANEM: "I can't believe this happened, Can got hurt because of me again" Mevcabi went over and hugged her, Sanem couldn't control her tears.

MEVCABI: "Sanem, Can is a strong man, and he loves you very much, he's going to be okay."

SANEM: "auntie, if something happens to him, I don't want to live, I can't be without him, he's my everything, do you no that we know what the other one is thinking without even talking, all we have to do is look into each other's eyes, we know we just know."

MEVCABI: "I know exactly what you're saying"

And she looks at Nihat. They sat there in the waiting room which seems like a lifetime when the doctor comes out.

DOCTOR: "okay, Can has lost a lot of blood, but he is in serious but stable condition, we're preparing him for surgery, the bullet entered towards the right of the chest, but I have to say, it hasn't hit anything vital, he should make a good recovery. But I have to say this, I do believe, that he must have some guardian angels looking out for him, he's a very lucky man. He was awake and we spoke very little, but it seems that his mind is on you Sanem, I hear you have a wedding next weekend."

Sanem smiled, she knows Can is going to be okay, she starts tearing, and she knows that he definitely did have a guardian angel protecting him.

SANEM: "he said that, ( tears start streaming down her cheeks) he remembered the wedding after all this?"

DOCTOR: "I've been a doctor for over thirty years, and I've seen a lot, this boy is wounded seriously and in pain and the only thing he can think of is you Sanem, all I can say is this is true love, you will be his medicine for a speedy recovery."

Everyone started smiling they know now that Can will be okay. "Okay after surgery is over I will be back to speak to you, don't worry everything will be fine."

AZIZ: "Thank the lord, Metin I assume Fabri has been arrested, hopefully with attempted murder."

METIN: "as we speak, I don't think he will make it out of prison, attempted murder, trying to kidnap Sanem. And the list goes on."

SANEM: " oh no I forgot about Ela he knocked her out, is she okay.?"

EMRE: "she's fine, Kaan is with her, she called him when Fabri and you were arguing."

SANEM: "poor Ela, she jumped him from behind, she's a tough cookie that one"

LEYLA: "I guess she had to be where she grew up."Leyla hugged Sanem, "like us I guess, she's a fighter." Sanem smiled leaned in on Leyla's shoulder and rested her head.

SANEM: "that she is" the surgery was taking long, Sanem was getting anxious. "surgery is taking long isn't it, I hope everything is okay."

MIRIBAN: "Sanem dear don't worry, everything will be okay. Here have some tea, sit here and relax."

SANEM: "I'm trying, Miriban, I love Can, but he keeps getting seriously hurt because of me. First the accident and now this, I don't know, maybe he's better off without me." Miriban looked at her concerned and smiled, she put her arm around her shoulder and brings her close to her.

MIRIBAN: "Sanem, you need to stop thinking like that, you were also in danger today too not just Can, he saved you because he loves you, and would do anything for you, and I think you would of done the same thing without thinking twice. Don't ever think that Can would be better off without you because I guarantee you that he wouldn't make it without you, he would stop breathing, this love that you have for one another is very rear, cherish it always. Don't worry things will get better, you have your whole life ahead of you. Trust me" Sanem smiled at Miriban wiping away her tears.

And then hugs her. About an hour later the doctor comes out to talk to the family.

DOCTOR: "okay, Sanem, everything went well, Can is in recovery, we will keep him in the ICU for 24 hours just to monitor him, but he is doing well. Sanem, would you like to see him?" She turns to look at Aziz, knowing that he wants to see him too along with Emre.

AZIZ: "go ahead dear, I will go after you with Emre, it's okay."

DOCTOR: " okay, the nurse will come and get you when he's settled in." Everyone breathed a sigh a relief.

Sanem was trying to wait patiently until the nurse came to get her. Finally the nurse came to get her.

NURSE: "Sanem, he's all settled in, come with me."

Sanem walked with the nurse to the ICU, into Can's room. She stood at the door way staring at him, tears rolling down her cheeks. He was lying there so calmly, his chest all bandaged up. "Ah Can, I'm so sorry." The nurse looks at her and says "Sanem , he's okay, don't worry go near him talk to him, I'm sure he will hear you and sense you near him." Sanem nodded and walked towards him, she caressed his arm and kissed him on the lips, she looks at him, stroked his long beautiful hair, and smiles, even after all he's been through he is the most handsome man she has ever laid her eyes on. She sits in the chair next to him rubbing his hand and kissing it.

SANEM: "Can my love, I'm sorry this happened to you, I wish it was me not you" she starts crying laying her cheek on his arm and rubbing it with her cheek. She feels Can squeeze her hand, she looks up and sees him looking at her. He smiles and she smiles. She gets up and kisses him on the lips.

SANEM: "Can, I love you. I'm sorry." Can looked at her concerned he doesn't want her feeling guilty.

CAN: "Sanem, this wasn't your fault (struggling to speak, he's still groggy) he was an evil man, okay, please I love you." She saw that he couldn't keep his eyes opened.

SANEM: "okay my love, sleep, I will see you very early in the morning, your dad and Emre want to see you. Okay."

CAN: "I Will be waiting for you, princess, I love you my life." "I love you my one and only. Good night" she kisses him again and starts to pull away and he pulls her hand back. He brings it to his mouth and kisses it and says "sweet dreams, and give me another passionate kiss before you go to hold me through the night." he smiles and she starts to giggle.

SANEM: "Can Divit, you're lying in bed with a gunshot wound half asleep and all you can think about is a passionate kiss?" He pulls her close and whispered in her ear. "I'm thinking of a-lot I want to do with you, but the kiss will do for now." They both start giggling and he winces a little feeling some pain she gives him a passionate kiss, tells him she loves him, and he closes is eyes and falls asleep. "Good night my prince see you in the morning."
