Chapter 47
Sweet Submission: Reclaiming Her Love
Chapter 47 Find You âLook, Coby, thereâs a shoe right there!â one of the lackeys exclaimed.
He was a tall and thin man who had noticed a high heel hanging from a tree branch situated below the edge of the cliff.
Swiftly, Coby looked in the direction the man was pointing at and his eyes instantly landed on the shoe Frowning, he began to approach it, deep in thought.
One of the lackeys walked up to Coby and suggested, âPerhaps, she fell off the cliff, right?â
Coby glanced at the man and said, âHead down and check if sheâs there.â
Turning to face the seven men behind him, he ordered three to go down the cliff also and told the remaining four men to continue searching the hill with him.
Coby, eagleâeyed, slowly scanned the area, not finding anything out of place until his eyes settled on a specific spot.
Gesturing at the two men closest to him, he said, âGo and have a look over there.â
Both lackeys glanced at each other, and one of them said jokingly, âThereâs no way on earth that woman would be stupid enough to jump into a pit, right? Unless she was feeling suicidal!â
Without reacting in any way, Coby repeated firmly, âGo and have a look.â
Pursing their lips, the lackeys quickly went over to investigate.
Inside the pit, Corynnâs blood ran cold with fear. Surely, she was going to be found soon enough. It was inevitable since they were coming...
Touching the damp earth, she noticed that there was a small hollow nearby. Instantly, she quickly used the heel of her shoe to enlarge it. Once the footsteps got dangerously close, she stopped digging and quickly wedged herself into the hollow.
A few seconds later, the grass above the pit was raised and a beam of light was shown into the pit, followed by the lowering of the grass again.
âThereâs no one here!â one of the lackeys yelled.
Hearing this, Corynn squeezed her eyes shut and bit her lip hard.
The sound of her heartbeat reverberated in her ear as fear caused her whole body to tremble uncontrollably.
Though she was relieved that the lackeys hadnât seen her, she didnât dare move out of the hollow as she was scared that they might wait or doubleâcheck.
As her mind raced, she began to wonder who could possibly want her dead. There was no way she would have hurt somebody when one took in the fact that she had just returned to the country two months ago.

Chapter 47 Find You At that moment, a name flashed through her mind.
Amanda!
Definitely, the culprit had to be Amanda!
The only person who harbored enough resentment towards her to want her dead was Amanda! That woman tried to and failed to harm her twice. She was definitely the one who sent these men to kill her.
Calming her anger, Corynn reminded herself that her main focus now should be on how to escape.
She quietly took out her phone, switched it on, and dialed the emergency number.
However, before the call could get connected, the covering above the pit was lifted again.
Corynn froze for a moment, then quietly pressed herself further into the hollow.
âYou guys were right, thereâs indeed no one here,â Coby said with a chuckle and released the covering.
As she listened to the menâs retreating footsteps, Corynn couldnât help but let out a soft sigh of relief. Hopefully, the men were going for good.
To be safe, she decided to wait in the hollow for another ten minutes before crawling out. When she eventually did crawl out, she had to stretch her numb and aching limbs.
Her right ankle was so swollen, that it caused wave after wave of pain to roll through her body anytime she moved her right leg.
Gritting her teeth, she looked at her phone and saw that there was no service, and therefore she was unable to make a call.
Swallowing hard, fear gripped her heart.
If she fails to contact someone, she might end up dead here even if the men above were to leave.
But, she didnât want to die... she wanted to stay alive.
Desperate, Corynn kept dialing for help. After a few trials, the call finally connected just as someone shone a blinding light down on her.
Looking up, she widened her eyes in fear as she saw the faces of four men staring down at her, with one of them being the man with a streak of white hair.
Gritting his teeth wickedly, Coby winked and said, âGot you, bitch!â
